    Afternoon all,

Welcome back Pink and Newster, you were missed. Pink...sorry to hear about Tim's arm, but children are so resilient he will have forgotten the pain and have great stories to relate when he goes back to school.

Hugs to all in need and want of one or more.

JackieO...good on you girl, take no rubbish from those with needles! Good luck with the new conservatory. That is one of the 'nasties' out of the way.

Queenie, hope that to-day is a better day.

Racy...nice to see you back...even if you are soggy!

Nelski...sounds as if you had a wonderful holiday...hard to settle back isn't it?

Crazychick...special hugs for you, there is only my brother and me, so would be devastated if he left the country. Would endorse Mioliere's recommendation of Skype, use it all the time to talk to my DGD and her parents in Holland...haven't got it set up properly so can't always be seen but I can see them...Aisling in particular as she hogs their webcam!

Oddsandsods...take care of your foot...sometimes a pin can be the best option but sometimes rest is more beneficial...no medical training but brother, two nephews and three sons all motor bike addicts in their time so viewed lots of breaks!

GrannyBroon, wise move to cancel dentist...please see your doctor instead...may be pulled muscle but just in case...please?

Have just realised the time, was nice here earlier and put out some clothes...have started to keep anything small on airers in house...it is now clouding over so OH's gazebo may come in for its first use as a clothes drier!

Cats! Luca has been strange since his return, has twice soiled DGS's bed and once kitchen and living room floors...we were horrified as he has only done this before when we unintentionally left him inside when we all went to work. Have bought him some new food as he didn't seem to like the Lidl one and he is eating better, but am afraid to let him stay in for longer than a few minutes before he is fed. Not sure if he is a true carnivore...his favourite food is and always has been broccoli. As I said....cats!

Hope that everyone has a good day.

Hi, not been around much due to being overworked both at home and work and extremely stressed out trying to keep the peace between various family members:rolleyes: am always pig in the middle somehow!

Anyway enough of that, DS will be getting his first car tonight thanks to my sister who has loaned him some money, he's really excited, got to pay her back when his endowment policy matures the beginning of next year.

    Afternoon all:hello:

    Busy morning (for me anyway)

    Put washing on
    Drank coffee whilst on computer
Made scrambled eggs for boys and beans on toast for dd
Packed flask of coffee to take to younger kid's sports day, remembered mac -good job.
Eldest off to school, walked younger ones to school, dropped DVDs and books back at library (on bike) -back to school for sports.
Watched KS2 obstacle race including ds2 come next to last, then heavens opened and sports were abandoned.

Went home , got absolutely drenched -changed, drank flask of coffee.
Went into Worcester to buy myself some Crocs (dd loves hers) came out of Waterstones to blazing sunshine.

Came home, put Crocs on (with decorations ;) ) look fab and v. comfortable.
Cycled back to school to see if KS1 sports were going ahead -no.
Cycled home again -at least I've got some exercise on sports day.
Read new cookbook (Food on the Move -Pret a Manger recipes) and drank rest of flask of coffee -thermoses are great.
Hung washing indoors and put another load on.

Baked 2 dozen blueberry and white choc chip muffins for school tuck shop tomorrow. Then made 4 dozen flapjacks with seeds in also for tuck shop -don't worry I will not eat any of them ;)
Made yummy toasted sandwich for lunch inspired by new book -sun-dried tomato, mozzarella and ham (plus a nectarine)
Now I'm having a cuppa and writing this.

I really ought to get something together for tea now as dd has a swimming lesson at 5. I'm thinking of doing a big layered salad -leaves, cooked peas, cooked sweetcorn, grated carrot, grated cheese, bacon bits, hm munchy seeds, onion. I'll just serve it up with warmed pittas and mayo.
Must hang up more washing -where though?

I rang up for a quote it was over £300 and I was told that the offer finished at midnight last night......but that was 16th, it says until 17th which in my book is midnight tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!GGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRR I could have done with the points. We want to visit my friend in South West France, we can book a siblu caravan with Tesco vouchers and also pay for the ferry with vouchers, an extra 500 would come in very useful..........

We went to Mr T's and the library on the bus this morning, we are trying to use less fuel.............the only places we really need to use the car to get to is my daughters, the lottie and my friends. OH can get to bowls on the bus too.

It poured with rain just after we got in, glad we made it home just in time, Emily, the lady whose house flooded with sewage has been offered a new studio flat in the same block, I am not sure if she is going to take it, she is a bit undecided.

Nothing doing this afternoon, OH is watching TV, I am going to get on with some sewing..................

Changed the menu egg beans and chips for supper with the last of the crumble for dessert.................
    Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.

Just had a second bath and when I lay back I am sure something clicked! Although I am rather tender and achy the sharp pain I had this morning has gone and I have actually managed to get dressed and dry my hair. I have a feeling I probably couldn't have done that this morning.

Dentist now mid August but there will only be one day between the two rather than the two days it would have been this week.

Even if I hadn't hurt myself I don't think I could have done gardening today as the area I am working in is in full sunlight and I would have cooked. (Sorry about rubbing it in for those who are having rain!) Just need neighbour to return later so I can ask him to lift the bags of compost out of my boot as I might just sit on the front step this evening and do some pots which won't be too strenuous.

A compulsary day off from the garden tomorrow which is just as well as have to babysit middle DGS to allow DD to take older one for an appointment. Of course No 3 will have to go along with her as no doubt he will decide he 'must' have a feed the minute she drives away! Can't believe he is 2 weeks old already.

Well methinks a quiet corner in the shade in the back garden and a Jilly Cooper book my DD passed on to me a few weeks ago. No G&T especially as I have been popping Ibuprofen and Paracetamols.

Thanks for all your support and pms today - very much appreciated.

    Love and hugs to all

    Afternoon All

Sorry have have sped through the thread so hope everyone is ok, please take a (((hug))) if required.

We have had everything here as far as the weather is concerned, is so windy that inflatable day has been cancelled so have DS and friend playing football in the garden. DD been off today as ill and has bought herself a rabbit, hutch and everything so she is happy sorting that out.

Having a nightmare with our business at the mom, probably will be a couple of weeks before its all sorted - oh well these things are sent to test us.

Plan for rest of the day - some invoices that need doing, sort dinner - oh is still asleep - not sure if he will want anyway. Quick tidy up and then hoover. Have loads of stuff taped on sky+ so will start watching that and probably wil drop off very quickly.

Enjoy the rest of the day.

Sorry, I know it's for the best, but I feel really down about the break up. It's just started to hit me. I know he wasn't right for me and he used me, but it's not nice the way it happened. Rant over

Planning a girly night with a friend on Friday. Vino, takeaway, that kind of thing. Also hoping to have my friend and her hubby round on Sunday for dinner. Will have to make banana bread for then, as he loves it.

Seems weird being at work at this time, when I normally do the early shift.

Queenie - really hope you are reading this, you have always been a massive help and support to me when I've had my down times.

I hope you can see from all the comments posted today and yesterday that so many people regard you as one of the nicest, kindest, warmest people on here - you mean so much to so many.

Please don't beat yourself up, you will never be as great as me in the kitchen, so stop trying to achieve the unachievable. :p :rotfl:

    Big hugs to ya!!!!

Hi all - I'm back. Got very wet; it poured here everytime I stepped out of a building. Geat on crutches... not.

    My foot.....

Nope didn't do anything. Want me to go back in 2 weeks for another x-ray; I've already had 3 sets! It's been 5 weeks now; I'm gettign really frustrated. It was really sore + swollen by the time i got to the fracture clinic, and he told me to keep it elevated. In the next breath he said to keep walking on it so I dont get DVT. Can't do both, can I?? Also said that he wouldn't wire it but leave it to see if it would heal by itself because it is 'just a toe'.

I think I'll see if I can get a private consultation with BUPA. I'd rather pay the fee and see what soemone who isn't under the constraints of the NHS thinks.

    Sigh.

I think all of us have been trying to steer you in the right way. Please, Sweatheart put this one behind you. He made you ill and he still thinks he can come back. Please, please walk away. There is a Prince Charming out there somewhere for you, honest!

A very concerned Mum and Granny!
