It was ok for me, I was being fussed over, put in plaster & being taught to walk with crutches & all the other exciting things one does, but my poor family and BF (now DH) were sat in the waiting room the whole time!Ohhh Chips - im from Barnstaple, and both my children were born there!!!! Not surprised you were at the hospital that long tho, they have never been that quick when ever we have been there!!!!
On the bright side (then)BF had to carry me everywhere - he could do it in those days, not so sure he'd like to try it now!!!!!!

Morning all
Planning no housework today as I did so much yesterday. WM on (I don't count that) and DW emptied (nor that). Have a few errands to run today and will be out and about shortly.
Rye bread came out very well, will try adding whole re grains or some pumpernickel seeds next time. DSD very keen to have old machine, so will get some ingredients together for her and take it over to her in a couple of weeks.
If it stays dry I want to get out in the garden. There are some major jobs to do...I need to remove most of a St John's Wort from one bed; make new beds along the new fence; unplant the bed in front of the kitchen window and dig it over, change the size due to a planned new path, and then replant it; remove a decrepit blackcurrant bush, dig over, and then turf it.... and the list goes onl. Fortunately, this is the list for the rest of the summer, not just this week. Some parts are more urgent than nothers, as DH will be laying the hard landscaping at some point.
Well, better get on.
<<Hugs>> available for anyone who would like one.

Hi again
Queenie - I do hope you feel much better soon as I have just read yesterday's thread. Please do not feel you have to be perfect. No-one is and we all have days where we just don't want to do anything, cook from scratch etc etc. Nothing wrong with that. I deliberately hardly ever post about what I have achieved regarding house things because then I would feel under pressure to get into more of a routine (which I am not due to work and family commitments). Take care.
Thank you all for your good wishes this morning. The pain is easing slightly and I am fine when lying in bed - it is only when I get up and move around and especially when I am sitting at the computer that it is at its worst. I have decided I am going to pull the plug on the dentist instead of him pulling my teeth!!!! I really feel I can't drive the car at the moment and DH is now the other side of world for 2 weeks. It will mean re-arranged appointments and the getting het up before the appointments yet again but I don't feel I should drive this morning (appointment is 9.40). Been doing redial since 8.00 so obviously not one of the dentist's 8.00 am starts which he does do to accommodate folk going to work.
CracyC - sorry you aren't doing too well. Hope you have a better day today. Please don't overdo things.
Jackie - yoou are some great lady. Take care.

Good morning one and all and all to come and go!!
Last week i mentioned we had joined a gym and yesterday i went along with the OH (for encouragement)
I have been terrified about gyms and all that ponching about and with me being big thought i would look stupid and out of place, this would have been the case in some of the gyms we looked at but not this one, the guy was brilliant and at the end i felt so confident that i knew i could do it. I need to tone up as im losing the weight as i could have a lot of excess skin so this is why i needed the gym as no motivation at home to do it.
Im doing aqua classes 3 times a week and the gym a wee bit at a time to start with twice a week and fingers crossed by christmas i will have lost another 3 stone.
I always said i would have to be mentally insane to go to a gym but im now glad i have joined it as i need to get fitter as well as flatter
Today im waiting for the delivery man, when i moved in with the oh i hated his bed was to high and i never got a good nights sleep on it, mattress ok just the base needed a step ladder to get into it. so a few weeks ago took him out and we bought a nice new wooden slatted base that will match our new bedroom furniture it comes today yipppppeeeeee:j :j :j if the man gets here sooner rather than later will put it up myself that will shock the other half
have a nice day everyone
hugs to all

Morning. It's raining again..... I am feeling a bit like eeyore by comtinually annoucing the wet weather, but it seems summer has slipped by...
Work shortly. We have 2 new pets in the house since yesterday. My daughter won a goldfish at an agricultural show. It's living in a trifle bowl at the moment on the window sill. I have a tank, so I guess I will get some bravel and a small pump later today for her. Maybe some food too.
I did the classic trick last night, it was mean, but funny. I sliced a piece of carrot real thin and flopped it about in the water and ate it. Everyone thought I ate the goldfish:rotfl:
Then we also have a baby short tailed vole. It was found stranded on the public footpath all wet and cold. It seems to have come to life in a shoebox at home and eating so there is a good sign. It will go back to the wilds when it gets bigger. It's only about 3 cm long at present.
Thats the news from here.... greetings to you all. Off to Newquay for work soon ...Funny thing is the sun will probably be shining there. it seems to have a sunny micro climate.
The Agricultural show, was that Stithians show by any chance?

Morning all! I slept in ,as you can see.
Hope that Tim's arm doesn't feel too bad - we seem to be gettin a real club going on here - the BRoken Bones CLub! *wonders if I started a trend?*
Tree guy just left and has suggested taking down all 3 trees on the side of hte house; 2 are on the neighbours property so we need to talk to them about them coming down. They look like a bird-drop - 3 different trees in a 3 foot area.
My OH has managed to get most of the wax off the carpet; he'll check again tonight. HE's hanging a load of clothes out right now, but if it rains, they'll have to stay.
I'm off to the fracture clinic today; wish me luck - I'm hoping they will wire the bone so that the dratted thing will finally heal.0 -
Morning everybody :hello:
Sounds like lots are ill or hurt today ((((hugs))))
JackieO - I bet you're not the first person to tell such a medical professional "where to stick it"
((hugs))
My boss and I are flat out at work trying to complete a document which has to go out this Thursday. His boss is meant to be reviewing it and providing input but he's done nothing whatsoever  Sometimes I wonder why we bother
I should be going out this evening but not till late. There are two Proms on this evening, but the late-night one is so special that I don't think I want to go to the early one as well - I'd rather be fresh for the late one! This should give me ample opportunity to stay on a while at work, go home, make dinner, do laundry and generally keep (sorry, not keep, GET) my life in relative order before getting on the bus back into town
If you want to hear some REALLY fantastic choral music before going to bed, tune in to Radio 3 at 10:15pm
Must be off now, busy
Love Rzl xx

Morning all
Windy and overcast here this morning - had loads of rain overnight again.
JackieO - Watch you don't get to tempted at the dockside outlet - my DD's rush straight into the cadburys shop when we go up there.
Pink - Hope Tim's feeling better - must have been a nightmare!
Hugs to all in need this morning.
Need to crack on and finish the bedroom today - but it means emptying and moving 2 huge chest of draws first ..... oh joy!
My small cat's looking a bit under the weather, I think he got a bit bullied yesterday and he's looking very sorry for himself today so lots of strokes and something treaty for lunch for him I think.
Decided to try and new approach with DD's for the summer holidays, although they are very good they do seem to think money grows on trees so rather than me shelling out for cinema/days out/ice creams etc we've found a list of jobs that need doing and a pay scale - on the proviso that the money they earn is to be spent on the days out etc, they've drawn up a list of things they'd like to do and we've worked out prices, I think it will do them good to realise just how much these things cost (I have got some treats lined up thanks to Mr T's vouchers).
I can't put it off any longer - the paint roller is calling me.
Have a good day all."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0
