  • Hi all. Welcome back, Pink, and special <hugs> to JackieO and Queenie, and for anyone else who needs them.

The sun is out here this morning but I'm not very happy, have just had a letter from the bank returning a cheque a bride gave me for altering her bridesmaids' dresses. I'm pretty hacked off about it, especially as it was a rush job and I gave up my entire weekend to get her poxy dresses to fit.

I'm defrosting the freezer today, oh joy, so can look forward to a flood in the utility room later on  , also I MUST get on and do some Flying round the house, it's a tip. Having two grown up children descend on us complete with five years' worth of books, papers and assorted kitchen equipment means that the whole house is in turmoil. I need expanding walls.

    Breakfast: grilled tomatoes and bacon
    Lunch: chicken and avocado salad
Dinner: stir fried pork and noodles

    Enjoy your day, all.

    Morning All :hello:
I feel human today for the first time in ages :j So hopefully less of the grumps from me to bore you all!

Sorry to hear about all the broken bones, and muscle aches etc. Sending every1 healthy wish messages.

Pooky - sorry to hear little cat is under the weather. I remember realising Bailey had been hiding under the bed all day feeling sorry for himself. Turned out he'd been in a fight and had an abcess under his arm I hadn't noticed

Realised teenager next door is up and dressed WELL before me. Oooh dear. I'm turning into a right old slob! Must go and get bathed! I know I've got to go to the greenhouse at the lottie and see if anything is still alive in it after being ignored for 2 days! Also think I need to do a Mr T shop. Tried menuplanning last night and it seems we forgot to get enough fresh veg and salad when we did our big shop. Didn't make the lasagne yet because I need more courgettes, peppers and mushrooms etc. So trying to work out which Mr T to visit out of 3 within 20 mins, and see if I can have a small browse around another town for a change. Also planning to go to house auction tonight to see how much a rather sweet, but in serious need of work, house goes for.

    Have a good one.

Not posted here in ages, though have tried to keep up with things happening in OS.

Off work at the moment as I have no voice - never happened to me before! Irony is that I am here on my own........ Other than that, feel quite well, so will be doing all things OS today to get back into the groove that I enjoy most. Just bought a Kenwood Chef on Ebay and this is a wonderful opportunity to put it through its paces.

Thinking about putting in my notice when I go back to work as I dislike it so much. Would love to be home based. I must research how to sell on Ebay! What other jobs do you do from home/flexible hours?

(((((((((Hugs))))))))) to those that need them, especially Queenie, who has been my biggest inspiration on this (and other ) threads

Hi - just come back on with a cup of coffee - I need the caffeine because I've run out of motivation. I had loads planned but, because I had to go with DH to put his car in for a service and then bring him home in my car (which he has now driven off in) I sort of lost my get-up-and-go; it just got-up-and-went! Anyway, I'll get cracking in a mo!
NEWSTER - Welcome back to you!
JACKIEO - what a horrible experience for you! I think you're very brave and that sense of humour will get you through anything! Have a great afternoon and spoil yourself, girl!
HARDUPHESTER - Envelopes can cause all sorts of injuries; a friend of mine at work jokingly (ha,ha!) tapped me on the head with an envelope and, because the corner of it made contact with my head, it made it bleed! Of course, now I'm known for being 'soft' in the head! Lol!
CRAZYCHIK - You must be feeling sad about your brother moving to Florida. Have you got Skype on your computer? It's fantastic for keeping in touch - for free. You just download the software -from skype.com - and get your brother to do the same at his end, and you can talk for as long as you like for absolutely nothing, zero, zilch - free, free, free! And if you each invest in a webcam (mine cost £24.00 from PC World) you can see each other as well. I keep in touch with family and friends in America, Australia, Canada, Belgium and France and there's no limits on time. There's no way I would be without it, nowadays. Oh, and it doesn't interfere with your landline, either. Give it a go and it will make your brother seem closer again. I hope you have a lovely day.
PEEM - your DD sounds lovely! My DGD is just like that - really girly; she's 4 now and has been into fashion since she was about two years old! Her mother is wondering what's she's bred!

Anyway, I absolutely MUST get a wiggle on; I've drunk my coffee so there's no excuse to stay on here except that I enjoy it so much!

    See you all later.

Jackio-in answer to the tescos question, i gave my clubcard number and postcode thats what they asked for. I didnt have to even go through a quote with them. I would phone them back and tell them you just wanted to double check the points had been added after your quote as you just realised they didnt ask for your number.
Have a good day all off to get something done.

Crikey, this thread is busy this morning!

Not hugely impressed this morning - arranged to work from home so that my car windscreen could be replaced (it's got a crack in it), but they rang at 8.30 to say that the replacement one had arrived damaged  Typical!

Got a load of veg, inc beansprouts to use up tonight, so it'll be chicken stirfry for tea. Think I'll spend my "lunch hour" ironing too, as the pile is starting to build up.

Pink - Parents are always more worried about broken bones than kids are. Glad he's OK

grannybroon - take it easy today, sounds like you've popped a rib or pulled a muscle. Ouch!

JackieO - for some reason I can't get the picture of you lying there in the scanner in your pants and trainers out of my head :rotfl: glad you can laugh about it.

hugs to everyone else, have a good Tuesday

Hi everyone - prodical OSer returned from Egypt:D

Got in at about 2am (which was 4am on my body clock) so went straight to bed. Woke up a few hours later and been up since. How depressing to look out to grey sky this morning instead of the standard blue I have had for the last week

Had a fantastic holiday and stuck ridgidly to my hectic schedule (that was the sunbathing eating drinking sunbathing sleeping one) What a gorgeous place Taba Heights is - the people are just wonderful (I had quite a few marriage proposals:rotfl: ) we had a waiter round the pool who worked in the hotel bar they called the grotto which was a genuine cave - his name was Ossama:D I wonder if I should inform the authorities seems like a good cover to me:rotfl: anyway the food was amazing and I didnt have any of the problems a lot of people do when they go to Egypt (did you know thats where the phrase Gypy tummy comes from? useless info of the day) Nearly finished my brick of a book but the regular dips in the pool did make it a bit soggy:rolleyes:

So on my last weeks schedule its now 12.15 and time for a gin and tonic and a dip in pool
unfortuantly its 10.15 and time to sort a mountain of paper work out I "left" till after the hols:eek:

Wont have time to read all the missed threads so hugs to everyone as necessary but especially to

Pink - Poor Tim sounds like he is being very brave
Queenie - Massive hugs hun you are a very good friend to all of us and if you want to observe a bad OSer then come round here:o and btw I watch Jeremy Kyle quite often when the sink needs shining (which is most of the time)and I dont care:rotfl: :A For me OS is more about the community than the jobs
Jackie O - Wow lady you are amazing keep that spirit up
and DLB - thanks for that I dont always read the tips and today I need to sort the car insurance so appreciate the heads up:j

See ya all soon from a brown but sad person who wishes she was back by the pool
