Hi all, good to see everyone on the up (or at least able to put a contagious positive spin on the day :T ).
I'm still in love with Paphos.
I must have missed posting yesterday so here's Tuesday's positives:
1. We went on a trip on a glass bottomed boat. I started to feel queasy before we'd even left dock but I managed to hold on to my breakfast (unlike ds3 _pale_ )
2. Some uk friends we made out here arrived for a two week stay. Although we don' t live far apart we only see each other here, so we're always extra happy when we meet up.
3. We had lunch at the Pelican Restaurant and there was a real pelican in attendance.
4. Dh and I had another date night, I drank Black Russians and dh rolled me home.
Today's positives:
1. It was a NSD as the car we hired went back last night and we spent today around the pool.
2. We played Pontoon with the biggies and their friend on the terrace and sang dodgy pop songs until late.
3. I spent the afternoon cooking spag Bol while my Mum reminisced about her childhood and told me all about the maternal grandmother I never met.
4. We were told that we can have our apartment for an extra night because my Mum got our arrival date wrong and paid for 15 nights instead of 14. We can tag the extra night on to the end of dh's stay and spend one less night overcrowding my parent's apartment. I can starfish in a double bed before moving to another double bed that I'll have to share with the two littlies.
All gooood, even if I lost at Pontoon!MBNA 430/14000

Sounds like my kind of day Nintud
My positives for today:
1) fun at Aqua Zumba and doubled our lengths after (to a grand total of 4 haha!)
2) a lovely lunch with my Aqua Zumba buddy who will be my SIL before the end of the year
3) I'm getting more sorted at home...not that you'd know it by looking at the bedroom floor at the moment!NSDs January - 3/8 2017 total - 3

Hi All
Some lovely positives from everyone the last few days. Dozey Crow - Hope you're starting to feel a little better today.
My positives for yesterday are
1. Went for a lovely meal for OH birthday.
2. On the way home from said meal DD's were having a good old giggle in the back of the car, lovely to hear it when they get along so well.
3. Two more things sold on Amazon so that's another £20 in the pot.
I'm looking forward to hearing people's positives again tomorrow.

Glad to see this is still going strong and you're all giving me ideas!
So today...
1. Saw my parents and they weren't too mad
My mum had an accident at work, she's fine but couldn't drive her car home so asked me to.
2. I drove a manual! AND remembered I had to use the clutch and gears (much to dad's delight) :rotfl: it's my left leg that's injured and I have driven at automatic for nearly two years so it was wonderful to realise I could if I needed to
3. My dad trusted me with their "good" car - I think every girl wants her dad's approval
4. Thursday fat club night out in an hour.
5. Finally got round to sorting out little kids clothes so I'll be putting them up for sale tomorrow
6. Finished all the ironing from the weekend's washing marathon
7. Feel like I've achieved loads with my first day off

Feeling very fed up with our house move, we started the process back in April then our buyers dropped out two months in, then another couple couldnt get a mortgage and we nearly lost the house of our dreams, then ours was sold again! So here we are 4months later in a house we really want to leave with no idea when we may actually move!! Have been as positive as I can but today feeling really fed up, we have new neighbours who have two dogs that keep yapping constantly and trying to work from home has been so hard as my two are freaking out because of the barking! Anyways, I will find positives...
1. Its nearly friday which is takeaway night!
2. Neighbours have got to come home soon to make the noise stop....right?
3. Im having a can of cider!

Good evening all!!
So, I have had the most manic day at work, on the plus side, my 11 hour day went so quick it was as if I had only been there for 2 hours!!
I helped Kate_fixing_it *(technically yesterday but I only saw this today, so I'm counting it!)
I got some free posh fabric conditioner in the post!
I had a nsd, with the exception of the car tax, but as that is a bill that I was aware of it was not an unplanned expense.
I've arranged to meet a friend for lunch on Saturday, and have arranged to do 4 hours overtime beforehand, these two things cancel each other out, so lunch is technically free :rotfl:
This thread is still lively with little bubbles of happiness
Hugs to all

Hello everyone,
I am feeling better today thanks little miss giggles. I am eating more today and don't feel as sick. We have ventured out to sit in the garden tonight which was strange but we have to get used to it.
So positives for today are:
1) managed to do a pretty good job of writing a report in just a few hours.
2) saw my sister tonight and we got on really well
3) had a lovely coffee with colleagues at lunchtime
4) had a scrummy hm pizza for tea lovingly made by my dh
5) we have been for a lovely walk this evening
Nintub I went on the glass bottom boat in Cyprus.. Dear oh dear not my finest hour.. You have my sympathy.
Loving the thread.... It's great!0 -
:rotfl:Dozey Crow, I have made 'getting out of Dock without feeling ill' one of my goals for next year's visit! Apparently the boat rocks less at the back and I made the mistake of sitting at the front so it would be easier to focus on the horizon. How can I ever live my yacht owning fantasy if I can't even sit in the dock without discomfort? :rotfl:
Today's positive points:
1. Ds4 swam a few lengths with just one arm float on each arm and now sees this as the way it will be.
2. I drove my Dad's automatic car and only switched the windscreen wipers on 5 or 6 times ( the indicator and wipers positions are flipped in his car and I end up wiping a dry window each time I want to turn a corner!). I also managed the whole journey without trying to change gear once.
3. I tried strawberry daiquiri for the first time and loved it (but not the 7 euro price  )
4. We had dinner at the ocean basket restaurant and I left my comfort zone to eat mussels, baby octopus and calamari heads. I can't say that I enjoyed them, but at least I tried them.
Dh goes home tomorrow
so it may be harder to look on the bright side. He's had a fantastic holiday but is only just settling in to the stresslessness (new word?!) of it all. MBNA 430/14000

What matters is how we live and love and how we spend our dash. (L Ellis)0 -
Not feeling like my usual bouncy, positive self today
spent hours sorting out getting rid of my old car. It's taken over a month to come to terms with the fact that I can't afford to fix it up and it's been up for sale for most of that time with zero interest so I'm scrapping it. I know it's pathetic but together with the clothes I'm selling on ebay it's the last remnant of my old life and I'm having to admit I was living a lie on other people's money. There's been a lot of self-realisation since I began fighting my debt and a lot of humble pie eaten. So today, instead of further feeling sorry for myself I'm a "proper" user of this thread!
So, without further ado...
1. I got the scrap price of the car up from 130 to 190
2. I figured out all on my own how to get the CD changer out and did it (although I why I tried this after painting my nails is beyond me
)
3. Taught 16 year old DD1 how to jump start a car
4. Gave myself a pedicure and manicure
5. Will be re doing manicure with a glass of wine later
6. Agreed with DH that I will skim £10 off the scrap money made for some going out shoes (I have two occasions coming up and will be wearing clothes I already have but no suitable shoes)
7. At 9 am tomorrow I'll have a third of my drive back - the kids love drawing on it in chalk but we've had no room AND I can finally have the bins by the back door again
8. Finally accept that I can live within my means. I do not make enough to swan around in designer labels and park an Audi on the drive nor do I need to. I have perfectly good clothes from normal shops and my little Peugeot is perfect for my needs. In fact I'm much happier in general living this way.
And as I've typed this out I've realised that last sentence sums things up perfectly
