Wonderful news Pookie - you take care of yourself and that little miracle. Things all good with me just floating as so enjoying new job and apart from the last couple of days which were late finishes and early starts, but on the whole I get home earlier than I did in my old job. Do miss some of my old colleagues but I am now beginning to settle, so thank you all of you who sent me good vibes because they are working. Billie xxx

  • Hi Guys!!

Sorry I haven't been here. I've been a bit manic and not really managed to catch up with all of MSE for a while. Now I am using it to procrastinate when I could be baking flapjacks, biscuits, etc for the week ahead, not to mention washing the dinner pots. I'll do it in a minute... :rotfl:

Pookie congrats on your little girl! Very excited and wishing you well for the rest of your pregnancy and labour... 2nd time around is a breeze apparently... :rotfl: yeah, right...

Billie I am glad you are getting home earlier. Sometimes having an extra half an hour in your relaxation time after work is so much better!Make sure the late ones don't take over!

So... my positives for about a week now:

    - didn't catch the cold that was flying around my flat and managed to keep it away from Jellytot for the most part with many vitamins! :D
    - hopefully got cashback of £50 not to mention saving £150 on my gas/leccy for the winter
    - new boiler is in, quiet, efficient & takes seconds to heat up the room, but finally has a thermostat in the living room so doesn't just heat up endlessly for the hours it is on!
    - managed to pick up some crafting bit for Jelly at bargain prices
    - made play-doh and loved every second playing with my little lady

Have a good evening all xx

  • It's all gone quiet here recently but I was thinking about all the good things that have happened recently and thought of this thread...

I have started a diary of 3positive things each day, but these don't all fit and on holiday I've had a week off!

    - mortgage offer has been confirmed today, it's in the post!
    - just got back from holiday at OHs mum's caravan by the sea where I love to be :)
    - looking forward to sorting out the classroom a bit tomorrow
    - OH is getting into Doctor Who! Looking forward to the many episodes of David Tennant :)
    - as nice as it is spending time with OH's mum and her partner it's nice to get some US time
    - have been testing out beds ready for our new house...we have 2 necessary new items for the new igloo...a bed (as we only have singles between us) and a washing machine as OH still relies on his mum or my parents for getting washing done!

Hope that despite the lack of posts people are still finding the positives.

  • Thank you for the resurrection!! I have thought of this a lot, and smiled as I saw it!

    So
    1. That the positives thread is still positive
    2. Even with all of my spending this month, I have things to show for it, and a healthy bank balance
    3. Penguins has a mortgage offer!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congrats hun!! No mean feat in the current climate & I work in finance so should know
    4. Had a week off work, which = 11 days off. Spent some time organising and making Xmas cards/wrapping beforehand then spent the time up there seeing my family
    5. Mum has a date for her second operation next Tuesday and will hopefully be on the mend before Christmas and not starting chemo until after then
    6. My Nan & Pops got to see Jellytot and she loved it. I have beautiful pictures and memories to treasure.
    7. I got to go on a night out with Him and had a lovely meal. Still got 25% off making it MSE as well!
    8. Today I was sent a recording of Jellytot singing the whole of twinkle twinkle by herself unprompted with the most beautiful clear little voice

  • Positives for today...:

    - Got a lie in courtesy of a broken phone alarm and a small child sleeping in until I woke her at 8:30 this morning
    - Spent an enjoyable day doing not very much whilst I had peace to myself after all my hard work at the weekend cleaning and decluttering
    - Picked up Jellytot from nursery to be told that a nursery nurse who isn't usually her key worker had commented that they were amazed that Jelly can count to 20 by herself unprompted, as most kids her age can't count to 10 yet. And was then told that they have to work hard to make sure she is learning as she is so far ahead :D
    - Dinner was made last night and is just warming up. Comforting scotch broth and tonnes of toasted bread :D
    - Jelly is already in bed asleep and I have had a peaceful child free shower before 6pm. Unheard of.

All in all a good day.

  • Today it is quite simple.

    I have enough.

Thankyou Liltdiddylilt, that has made my day! You have hit the nail on the head...I too have enough...maybe this is contentment? it certainly takes a lot of stress off just to sit back and realise it!!
    Cheers!
  • I am so glad that my happy revelation gave someone else a feeling of contentment in their own world too.

I am still feeling precisely that way. :) Life is good.
