In this world of debt busting, money worries and DMPs, I have personally found it all too easy to lose focus, and start to feel sorry for myself, self-destructing all my efforts on, not only the DFW route, but also isolating myself from others rather than finding cheaper things to do with my friends.
In a serious moment of self-pity, the world-hates-me, I don't have any money, type of moment, a friend of mine, to whom I shall be eternally grateful, sent me this message:
If you have food in your fridge, clothes on your back, a roof over your head and a place to sleep you are richer than 75% of the world.
If you have money in the bank, your wallet, and some spare change you are among the top 8% of the world’s wealthy.
If you woke up this morning with more health than illness you are more blessed than the million people who will not survive this week.
If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the agony of imprisonment or torture, or the horrible pangs of starvation you are luckier than 500 million people alive and suffering.
If you can read this message you are more fortunate than 3 billion people in the world who cannot read it at all.
So I thought, maybe it was time to think about the positives in each day, whether free or not, a friend sending a nice message, a stranger complimenting you, some good news or paying off a debt. To this end, I would like to start recording the positives in each day, and would love my fellow DFWers to join me!

Right, as I've started:
1. My boss said thank you and well done for a piece of work I have worked hard on
2. I have a small amount left in the bank, the day before payday, which hasn't been heard of for many months
3. My tickets to the Fairy Festival arrived, and the weather looks like it will be a nice weekend
4. Some old friends will be in town on the weekend and have confirmed our plans for a catch up

I've had a pretty foul day. Been to a very sad funeral but I got to remember a wonderful lady who gave so much. Her small granddaughter gave me back a forgotten memory of searching for fairies in her garden and I've spoken to people I haven't seen since my childhood.
I had a (child free!!!!!) trip to buy bread with DH (we held hands and everything
) and I have four wonderful children that I adore to come home to.
And we had a fab curry for dinner, nothing beats the blues like a full tummy
Great post Sunshine.

Kate,
I'm sorry to hear about the funeral but I am glad that you managed to remember the wonderful things, and spend time with your family today

This is a lovely idea, and love the quote for the title!
1. My collegue said they were glad of my company today!
2. My husband mixed me up some nice soluble paracetamol when I got home from work, and he had walked the dogs!
3. My dogs are awesome and so funny! Though they are also mad, which is the biggest part of their charm!
Again love this idea! Happy Tuesday!

I love this thread :T
1. I'm on holiday in Cyprus, which means I get to see my parents for the first time in 2 years (that actually brings a joyful tear)
2. My youngest son has overcome his fear of water
3. I went on a 'date' with dh whilst ds2 and dd2 babysat and I drank Cubra Libre for the first time (pity my head tomorrow, but wow I feel good right now!)

This is a fantastic idea for a thread. I have been trying to be much more positive this week. Ib agree with all of the global ones and have done little ones: Today's are:
1) A small win but I took the stairs at work and not the lift twice today
2) Our little bunny rabbit is really cute and very amusing I free her tonight
3) Had some good feedback at work today
4) I have quite a bit of money left and payday is Thursday!
5) my dh made an amazing Chinese meal for tea.0 -

Nintud, I hope you are enjoying your holiday and well done to your son for overcoming his phobia
Dozey , Bunnies are very cute, I hope you have enjoyed the time you have had with her!

Good evening all,
I am back with another bundle of positivity!!
1. Today was my day off work :j
2. Completed all my errants which means I don't have to face town on a busy summer weekend!
3. Payday, and managed to sweep the epic sum of £36 from last month into my savings!
4. Successfully rehemmed work trousers rather than having to buy new ones
5. Had my first NSD in ages
How's everyone else's day?

I'm still oozing Cypriot positivity!
1. My Mum left the apartment to take us to an amazing seafood restaurant for dinner (she's increasingly immobile and seeing her outside was even better than the gorgeous meal).
2. Youngest son swam with 4 arm floats (rather than 6) for the first time. My little fishy is making phenomenal progress.
3. I drove our hired opal zafira to the harbour and we made it there in one piece, plus the car was hired at mates rates so I 'saved' some euros
Loving the warmth of this thread. Anything containing bunnies (we once had 16  ) makes me smile.MBNA 430/14000
