Love this thread too, made me want to join in . Was feeling sorry for myself this week as I am having loads of pain in my right leg and having therapy for it. I also suffer from depression and have loads of days where I can't get motivated.
Here is what made me smile today :
1 Coming home to my hubbie and making him something to eat before he works the night shift knowing that it's his birthday tomorrow and that I have a few surprises to wrap up
2 I have lots of PG Tips type monkeys and two of the large ones I dress up in kiddies clothes. They make me smile as I can cuddle them when I'm feeling down and even talk to them, I know it's mad but they help me so much with my emotions.
3 A work colleague made me a coffee for the first time in almost 3 years, I almost fainted, ha ha
4 Got up for work at 4.30am after only having three hours sleep and worked 6 hour shift in pain with my leg, but managed it.
5 It rained but my roof didn't leak today
Enjoying reading others too, will join again soon0 -
Another gorgeous day in Paphos :-). Lots of positives, as you'd expect on holiday.
1. DH stubbed his toe, it bled, but he didn't moan about it for hours (this is huge progress, but we'll not mention the moaning after he face planted the patio doors yesterday!!)
2. I watched 3 tabby kittens and their almost-kitten mum playing by the pool as I ate a banana and Greek yoghurt on the terrace this morning.
3. We went out for dinner this evening and it ended with a conga in the car park Cypriot-style :-)
4. The hired Zafira made it up the Tala hillside. I needed to change my underwear as a consequence of stalling and rolling back down a very steep incline but we all made it back in one piece (reminder to self, do not follow Dad, he does not know where he is going either).
5. The Greek dancers were hot!MBNA 430/14000

Good morning all!
After a couple of very up and down days I do believe my mood is stabilising.
1 - I slept more than 3 hours last night
2 - All housework is caught up!
3 - Packing done for our trip on Monday
4 - Enrolled for a University course and funding application ready to send
5 - In spite of the excitement of us going away on Monday my sons ADHD and TS are remarkably under control at the moment (I suspect this will change on Sunday night)
6 - I LOST 1lb!!
7 - My anxiety at the thought of a day travelling on busses/trains on Monday is surprisingly low (last time I was freaking out at this point)
I would just like to point out that this thread does wonders for me and it ties in extremely well with work I have been doing with my Occupational Therapist and various depression/Social Anxiety support groups/Charities. Thank you so much Sunshine for starting it!!
Hope you all have a wonderful day!

I'm glad I found this thread too. I think it will keep me motivated in thinking good things and not all bad as I was getting rather negative in life.
A few things already today are :
1. Waking up with not much pain in my leg and managing to walk down the stairs full on without walking like a crab. I normally tackle the stairs sideways
2. My dads coming for tea/dinner this evening, not seen him for two weeks.
3. Not given hubby is presents yet as he is still asleep from working last night. Looking forward to that.
Have a good holiday SOMam. :beer:0 -
Happy Saturday all!
Somam - I am glad you are feeling in a better place already, I hope it continues for you! Well done on your weight loss!
Jodles - Pizza for breakfast!!! The joys of being a grown up and being able to be reckless!! I still feel like my mum will tell me off when I do that, 12 years after moving out of home! :rotfl:
Binnie - What a good start to the day with a better pain level, I hope it continues for you, and happy birthday to your husband!
My positives for today:
1. Morning of work was very productive and quite a good laugh
2. Fresh, warm, fluffy, Yorkshire puddings ... need I say more?
3. Not a no spend day (I was on doughnut duty for the saturday team), but I did resist buying a 2015 diary already (I mean, it's August!), I also plonked some items in my amazon basket, then closed the computer and did some chores instead, and don't feel deprived (I am the worst for online shopping). I moved what I would have spent on Amazon to my savings, so that account is now £6.79 richer!!
4. I found an old mix-tape (well, CD) while clearing out my car. I think about 4 years old and was a lovely treat to drive to work with music I haven't heard for a while!
I hope everyone has a good evening,
TTFN SxI have enough money for the rest of my life... as long as I never have to pay for anything again!

Thank you for the birthday wishes. Hubby was in bed most of the day as he is working tonight. But he enjoyed his pressies and seeing my dad who came for tea.
It's hard having a no spends day isn't it. Well done for closing the computer and not spending on Amazon.
I sell on Amazon and Ebay and money burns a hole in my pocket as I spend most of it back on those sites. :rotfl:
Have a lovely evening all xxxxx0 -
Another gorgeous day in Cyprus (trying not to think about how I'll keep positive when we get back to the UK).
1. DD2 and DS2 raised me up into a cheer leading pyramid in the pool. I almost split my differences as they stumbled in opposite directions but I haven't laughed so much in ages.
2. We had ice cream by the harbour. I had Nutella flavour and it was amazing, plus I only had one scoop so it was both money 'saving' and SW diet friendly (who am I kidding?!)
3. DH let me gave a lie in and he entertained the littlies
4. I wore an above-the-knee dress out in public and nobody commented (or if they did it was in Greek and I couldn't understand it!)
5. I have the faintest bit of tan on my legs, which usually never catch the sun.
Love everybody else's positivity, especially those recognising improving health :-)MBNA 430/14000

Hello everyone, I missed yesterday too as we had some friends over for dinner. It was a really nice evening even though I was anxious about it. Anyway as hubby cleaned the house so well I have grabbed the bull by the horns and invited my parents over tomorrow!! So my positives are:
1) survived an evening of socializing the first one in about 4 months
2) took the stairs at work yesterday again
3) was invited out for coffee by some colleagues I don't normally socialise with
4) spent today clearing *treasures* out of our bedroom and it looks much better
5) the inbetweeners movie is on ☺
6) seeing mum and dad tomorrow
Love this thread!! I get depressed and anxious (other than that I'm a barrel of laughs!) And I had already decided to try and focus on positive things and try to feel better. This thread will help.We acquired 16 rabbits as a result of buying two 'boys' from a garden centre pet shop. I got the surprise of my life when I discovered an extra four in the hutch. Not realising how quickly female rabbits can get pregnant, I didn't separate the adults soon enough and Mummy bunny was pregnant again by the time I knew which one to leave in the hutch with the babies ( ds1 discovered how to identify male/ female rabbits via google... Never image search "sexing rabbits", she was 12 at the time and ten years later she still claims she's scarred!! That said, she can accurately gender rabbits and was able to separate the baby rabbits once weaned). Mummy produced a second litter of four and a third litter about four months later when determined Daddy dug under the boys' enclosure to get to her. After that I took her to be neutered as 'Speedy' was a Daddy on a mission.
The bunnies were distributed in a very money saving way. Two went to my gardener in exchange for a couple of free mows, two went to my childminder for some overtime childcare hours, one went to stepsons and two were sold. Unfortunately two met their fate via a neighbour's escaped ferret and 3 didn't live very long (postmortem - yes I paid £90 for a rabbit postmortem- showed a bacterial infection. We were able to treat the rest of the bunnies). We were left with four but the last one of those died a few years ago. Just one cat now!.
Oh my goodness.. An abrupt introduction to rabbit husbandry for you then!! It sounds like they were well looked after if you paid £90 for a postmortem and although traumatized for life your daughter had a career fall back plan as a 'rabbit gender identification officer'! 😂
Reading about Cyprus brings back some very very happy memories for me. My grandmother's friend used to live in Cyprus, actually at coral bay pathos in s villa overlooking the sea and we had wonderful holidays there. My 'uncle' used to point out a satellite that went over the bay (as you look out onto coral bay) at 6.30 every evening it was viable for about 30 seconds. Wonder if it still there. It's a beautiful place.. Have you been to the piano bar in pathos.. It's great!Love this thread too, made me want to join in . ILOVE the pg tips monkey... So completely understand. I was in bus yesterday and noticed they have a nightshirt with him on.. I was tempted to buy it but I'm a PJ girl really.
Sorry about your leg.. Sounds horrid.. Hopefully you can get some relief soon. How your hubby had a nice day and liked his gifts.
Night night all0
