  • Was still in a stinky mood this morning but gradually moving out of it :)

    1. Caught up all the work from the 4 days I had off (easier day than expected tomorrow now)
    2. Sold some bits for DS1 on FB and got myself £1 for delivering (a whole 1.5 mile round trip ;))
    3. DS2 can't stop grinning because tooth fairy visited
    4. Had an uninterrupted shower and all the kids we're awake and DH was in!!!!
    5. Chatted to two friends that needed a bit of my special brand of silliness and made them laugh :D

1 - I received my first wage from the first job I have had after long term illness
2 - I have discovered this morning that I have saved TWICE as much money than I had originally planned for going away on holiday next week (half of the extra is being thrown into my savings the other half I am calling a reward/bonus holiday money for saving so much ;) )
3 - My mood is up after the last few days and Anxiety levels are low :)

Hope you all have a great day today! :D

  • This is a great idea for a thread. :D As someone with dodgy mental health at the best of times, I definitely could do with looking at the positive more often.

    1) I finally woke up early today after the best part of a week with a rubbish sleeping pattern making me sleep nearly all day.
    2) I'm able to run my own business and therefore can set my own working hours and pace.
    3) Related to 2), I'm no longer in a job that left me with severe foot pain at the end of each day and required me to take ibuprofen 5 days a week to stop myself from hobbling at the end of the day.
    4) I have a lovely partner.
    5) I'm (as far as I know) relatively healthy.

  • Happy Thursday! The weekend is nearly here!

So it's still early but here's mine:
    1. Thursday is fat club night. I've been at target for over 11 months so it's a free night out with people who have become lovely friends. I always leave with a big smile on my face no matter what the scales say :)
    2. It's absolutely chucking it down. A plus because due to my leg injury I'm allocated a parking space at work so didn't get wet and it smells fantastic
    3. The pain I've been in all day has alleviated a little now it's started raining
    4. Work was good (mostly thanks to yesterday's efforts) and we spent a lot of time laughing.
    5. Teens have had a cleaning spree so I can now put my feet up for a short while before making dinner
    6. Three weeks tomorrow we're off to see the dinosaurs and nobody has told the kids yet ;)
    7. I said "no" to doing something and stuck to it. (This is HUGE!)

    What a lovely thread:
    1. I am so grateful for my amazing son, who is turning one on Saturday. He has been practising his walking today and has given me lots of cuddles and giggles!
    2. I have decided to finally sort out my debt and started today by joining the grocery challenge.
    3. I have planned next week's food, included new recipes and managed to get in under budget.
    4. I've had a lovely afternoon with my mum, her friend and my son.
    5. I've got a lovely husband, who works very hard and will do anything for me.
    6. I'm in the middle of 6 weeks off, so lots of extra time to spend at home.

  • Thanks jodles :D I get a bit maudlin if I'm not busy. It was bloody hard work being forced to sit still and rest after my ops! I'm loving this thread and all your posts bring a smile to my face :)

    Three more from me...
I lost a pound at fat club (no idea how!) so I'm now 3st 2lb lighter than when I began in January 2013 :D
The meeting was quiet so we finished early so I had an unexpected brief trip to the pub with DH (was supposed to just be picking him up). Diet coke for me but nice to just relax away from what passes for normality in our house.
We found two tiny snails by our back door and had a good giggle at DS1 naming them Fast and Furious and DD2 wanting to keep them as pets but believing we can't because they become vicious when they mature :rotfl:

Happy Thursday indeed!!!! One more day to the weekend. This thread has a really lovely f feel to it. Thanks Nintub and sunshine our little bunny is lovely.. She had a really cheeky and inquisitive personality. To be honest she is a bit spoilt and has cost us an absolute fortune in vets bills as she has bad teeth.. It would be cheaper to keep a house I think! But we love her . I can't imagine having 16 though Nintub that must of took some doing!!!

I side with depression and although I go to work and everything I act a great deal and when I get home I struggle to get motivated to do anything. Funnily enough I started to think of recording positive things already. Today mine are:

    1) traveled to work and back with a really nice friend today
    2) had a lovely lunch out with another friend
    3) took the stairs at work..I arrive at the top red faced and panting (attractive right?!) But it's worth it.
    4) we have friends coming over for tea to outdoor and my husband has done all the cleaning
    5) we have been food shipping and come in on budget for the week, including 3 bottles of wine
    6) little bunny very gently nibbled my thumb tonight because I didn't produce her food bowl fast enough! It made me smile.
    7) it has been a lovely day.

See you all tomorrow. Have a great Friday xxxx

We acquired 16 rabbits as a result of buying two 'boys' from a garden centre pet shop. I got the surprise of my life when I discovered an extra four in the hutch. Not realising how quickly female rabbits can get pregnant, I didn't separate the adults soon enough and Mummy bunny was pregnant again by the time I knew which one to leave in the hutch with the babies ( ds1 discovered how to identify male/ female rabbits via google... Never image search "sexing rabbits", she was 12 at the time and ten years later she still claims she's scarred!! That said, she can accurately gender rabbits and was able to separate the baby rabbits once weaned). Mummy produced a second litter of four and a third litter about four months later when determined Daddy dug under the boys' enclosure to get to her. After that I took her to be neutered as 'Speedy' was a Daddy on a mission.

The bunnies were distributed in a very money saving way. Two went to my gardener in exchange for a couple of free mows, two went to my childminder for some overtime childcare hours, one went to stepsons and two were sold. Unfortunately two met their fate via a neighbour's escaped ferret and 3 didn't live very long (postmortem - yes I paid £90 for a rabbit postmortem- showed a bacterial infection. We were able to treat the rest of the bunnies). We were left with four but the last one of those died a few years ago. Just one cat now!

    Today's positives:
    1. we spent the day on the beach at Coral Bay. The sand was fire hot, but the sea was just right :-). I swam out to a rock so rewarded the exercise effort with a glass of wine this evening.
    2. Once the littlies went to bed I was able to mop all the apartment floors so I won't be taking sand into our bed (small victory!)
    3. We overpaid for our hire car and have received an unexpected 35 euro refund (I misheard £315 as £350!!)

Well done on that weight loss Kate. Target is a goal a long way in the distance for me. 15 SW weeks and still plodding on.

  • Happy Friday all

I love reading all these little positive things, I was absent yesterday as went for a work dinner out. Only four of us but was actually fairly fun, not cheap but I had a good time and it's all about balance.

    Today's happy bubbles:
    1. I got told my eyes are 'blue, like the arctic sea' which I am taking as a compliment :rotfl:
    2. I woke up late and had to get petrol, but still managed, magically, to get to work on time!
    3. Had an awful morning at work, but by the time I left had achieved a lot that I needed to achieve and everyone's moods had definitely lifted!
    4. 2 refunds have come through to my account, they were bought from last month's budget so sweeping that money to my slightly healthier-than-before looking savings account
    5. I'm working a Saturday shift tomorrow, but it's with three people I get on super well with and so is almost a social occasion!

    S x
I have enough money for the rest of my life... as long as I never have to pay for anything again!
