  • Bit of a manic day and I should definitely be asleep before back to school tomorrow! But I'm nervous and worried I'll sleep through my many alarms as I always am!

    Today has been good because...
    *the sun has been shining
*We had a good giggle over Sunday lunch (if only I could remember why!
*Cake and buns were available for munching after church this morning :) not hugely helpful for healthy eating but very tasty!
*Tea out with my brother, his fianc! and her sisters
*I think I'm prepared for my new school tomorrow!

Good morning all you lovely people :)

I was fairly busy last week so didn't manage to post daily as I hoped however I did enjoy a slower paced weekend

**It's September! I am always my busiest around the house in September!! (days are cooler so can charge around the house getting stuff done and not swelter for it but not cold where you would rather be curled up in bed with hot chocolate and a chick flick)

**DS's 3rd week at new school has begun very well...he has even got all homework due for this week done! (VERY unlike him)

**I woke up very chirpy (and not fretting over what is coming that is going to hit me hard as I know I can deal with it)

**I finally nailed my budgeting software (YNAB) and am proud to admit that I am now looking at longer term items with it (specific savings goals, etc)

fingers crossed my feel good mood continues throughout the day :)

Hope you are all well and having a fantastic day today!

    Good Morning all!

    * I finally got round to making a start on decorating my bedroom at the weekend - some fitted wardrobes pulled out and wallpaper stripped. Room looks a mess but I can't wait for it to be finished!

    * It was my birthday yesterday and I had a lovely day with family and friends. I'm now 25 so hoping for cheaper car insurance!

*My parents have said they will buy me a new bed and mattress for my room as a birthday present - will save me a small fortune!

    * Thanks to MSE advice, templates and interest calculator I have posted a letter off to hopefully reclaim some bank charges. Eagerly awaiting their reply.

Happy birthday for yesterday Zerdi!! Fingers crossed on the car insurance. I don't drive but my school friends all said that the rules seem to have changed again and it didn't drop at 25, and now being 28 they still aren't getting the good deals as the insurance companies want them to be 30. I am sure by the time they get to 30 it will be 35... and so on! Still I am hoping you get a good discount!

    * Today I decided to just repair my ironing board. It is a hand-me-down from my mum which is older than me!! A bit (well a lot) of tape and it is good as... ok. :D Saved me £25 on a new one
*Jellytot is much better after her teeth eruption yesterday
    * We went to play in the garden and she used the bank as a slide, getting herself wet and muddy but loving it all the same
    * I am off shortly to do my mystery shop :D kinda scared I get declined on tape... If I do it is only because in the last year I have added 3 current accounts to my arsenal and got rid of my oldest longest standing one, so stability-wise they don't like it! Still, as it is fake I don't really care! :D EDIT: Soooo not only did I not get declined, they gave me a limit of £1600 :D feeling quite happy! Especially as I don't need it and it's cancelled and disappeared overnight!
    * Planning on a long evening of Thor 2 and UFC with my fave dinner tonight :D homemade too so I can feel virtuous!

    See ya later!!

Strange day - first day of a full week at my new job. I am desperate to have a routine, but that is going to take sometime and the feeling of drowning is horrible, I know it will get better and I have to be patient, but I just want to happen now!!

Hope everyone has had a good start to the week xxx

  • Happy Birthday for yesterday Zerdi :bdaycake:

It's been the first day at my new school today, so didn't get much sleep through nervousness and fearing I'd sleep through the alarm. However...
*I met everyone and they all seem lovely (not that I can really remember anyone's names!
*I didn't get lost...I even managed to find the staffroom and the toilets on my own haha
*I'm curled up in bed thinking I'm as ready as I'll ever be for tomorrow!!

  • Hi all, a busy day for me but I keep catching myself smiling so I must be feeling better.

I've had a lot of stress mainly due to the financial situation my ex left me in. Finally pulled my finger out and went to the bank to see my mortgage advisor (who was off sick). Got another app with her on Tues then can hopefully get the ball rolling with transfer of equity.
    Night all, peaceful sleep x
