Well, now you've had a perfect illustration of why its not helpful to get upset! Even the most prompt repliers in the world can have factors outside their control like a network issue. ;)

As always person_one you are quite right :D

I would never normally get that wound up about nearly anything however I feel like the move is running up in Usain Bolt fashion and I don't want to leave without saying goodbye to anyone!!

Stressed doesn't even come close to how I'm feeling at the moment, my house is down to bare minimum yet there still seems so much to do, I cannot believe how much crap we have accumulated in the past year (we had a major clear out when we moved where we are now!).

Anys, thanks for allowing me to vent and talking me down :D

Ok so yes.....my phone was down!!! I got 3 lovely texts this morning agreeing to ALL meeting.....then 3 asking if there was a problem because I haven't contacted to cement arrangements lol!!! The 4th person I phoned and didn't answer....haven't heard from her at all but, lately, this isn't unusual as she has completely gone in on herself and seems to be avoiding EVERYONE. I find this upsetting as I am at a loss as to how I can help her :(

Anyway, I don't go around people's houses and peer through windows, I don't phone constantly and I only sent one text to each that didn't get a reply....I didn't constantly text until I got an answer.

It appears my phone has been having some issues which became apparent when OH arrived home from work and asked why my phone has been 'unavailable' all day

For the record I am far from needy and I don't harass people, I just know my friends very well and was upset by their apparent lack of communication :D

    All sorted then:D love a happy ending:D

Well yes and no, yes at work and no at school as mobiles are banned in this school(and would not really feel inclined to contact them within the school hours, if it was that important I would ring the landline of the school and ask for my son but that is an extreme eg and the posters lack of reply to the text message is not within this extremity) but on way home if they had taken it if need be etc

So they DON'T always answer immediately then? ;) As Peter333 said earlier, there is not a person in the world who responds immediately every single time they get a text. It is absolutely and utterly impossible. Unless (again as Peter333 said,) they never go out, they don't have a job and they never sleep!

To obsess over someone not texting you back after several hours is ludicrous. I think some people need to get out more, and they also need to realise that other people have lives.

I've ditched my mobile for precisely this kind of reason. People expect instant response and I work on the basis that the mobile is my servant- I am not its slave !

I'm not out of reach my ipad is always with me and I can be messaged that way but for some reason there isn't the expectation that I must reply in 30 seconds the way there is with texts.
Where I work it simply isn't possible to have a mobile with you for security reasons (dismissable offence) and everyone still survives and even has a social life too ;)

As for moving stress- what will get done will get done. Just remember to breathe Sasha and I hope you are really happy in your new home and make even more friends. Good friends stay around no matter how far away you are physically :)

Talking about kids and mobiles-it never ceased to amaze me how often I'd catch kids texting in class and it was the parents on the other end ! "But Miss my Mum needed to tell me she can't pick me up after school".........."OK so why couldn't you reply at lunchtime" "Oh Mum gets worried if I don't reply straightaway" DUH !
