Life on the dole!!

Did anyone watch the above channel 5 programme..

It was about large and in some cases huge families on benefits.

One family with 14 children having their council house knocked through to next door, father saying he thinks they should of been moved out while the work was being done, mum complaining about the mess with a new baby while holding her to her chest and blowing smoke into her face while smoking a cig. I wanted to reach into the tv and slap her what is wrong with these people?
Smoking should be illegal in homes were there are children living, no idea how they would enforce it but!!!!!!

I watched this last night and it was pretty shocking.

Loved all the "classy" names the couple gave their kids...... Serenity (ironic or what??) and Satin-Tia..... :rotfl:

I can't watch those sort of things any more... I have to stop myself from throwing stuff at the telly and I don't want to have to buy a new one!

These programmes never seem to show people on the dole who dont have the large family and people demanding more and more. When I was on the dole it was a miserable experience, couldnt wait to get off it and I had nil money to spare. Its probably like that for a good number of people, but that doesnt make tabloid headlines or tv programmes.
  • As indicated also above, I find these types of programmes rather depressing! I wonder what message they are trying to get across. Well, I would, but I find even sleep preferable...

I think theres a message about trying to portray people on the dole as being exactly like some of these families, making decent money from being on benefit, not being satisfied with what they have, all drinkers or smokers and their kids having ridiculously chavvy names. Demanding purpose built houses. Much like that silly moo who got a boob job on the NHS and is now getting 150 quid a week taxis paid because she gets so much abuse for the persona shes created around herself.

Much like benefit street a programme about Im not well off on the dole, dont have ten kids, would like to find a job wouldnt make good Tv

I dont actually have a tv, even though Im not on the dole anymore, it was something I gave up when I was.

There are families like those shown on tv programmes, I see them where I live and I bet a lot of people could say the same. But its the Govt thats created a system where people with big families can do very well financially from not working.
