Eggxactly egg cooker market acceptance test

• No reply to my Letter before Action so I've just submitted a formal Money Claim against Eggxactly.

It's not only about the money, it's about lack of respect for the people who believed in them and placed an order in good faith and whom they've not had the courtesy of keeping informed....

I'll let you know what happens.

After receiving no response from anyone at the company, I started the action ball rolling with a charge-back claim via Barclaycard, and a final notice to Eggxactly, dated 4th August.

This morning (11th August) I received a cheque for £29.99 with a note of apology for the delay from Dotty Seddon herself. Still no explanation as to why no egg cookers were ever sent out after the "launch" last October, though!

The cheque could still bounce, of course, but at least Eggxactly are now doing something! I hope that the rest of you get your refunds in due course.

UPDATE: The refund cheque has now cleared so it's case closed for me. I'm still curious to find out if the egg cookers actually exist in a working form and, if so, whether or not any were ever sent out for testing - James Seddon seems to be very economical with the truth. I'll keep watching this thread to find out!

I have just emailed them again for an update, also adding that it is annoying that they don't update anyone via the website or via emails. I'll post any reply.

If they aren't ready to produce and send out the cookers they should have plenty of time to at least update, that's rude to be honest.
• Well done ig. That gave me hope so I too have sent an email asking for an update. That was yesterday - no reply as yet.

I really do not understand the lack of communication, especially as they have issued a refund. They must still be out there, somewhere - and still have some dosh!

I wonder about the legality of taking money from you for a trial which never takes place. Does this not amount almost to fraud? The fact they aren't communicating doesn't suggest honesty.
• I have had a response this morning. Fingers crossed

Thank you very much for email, and apologies for the late response. As I’m sure you have guessed we have experienced a number of problems with the roll out of this product, despite it passing its CE test, and having been tested pretty thoroughly internally. We have had to make a number of adjustments to the tooling, which each time takes several weeks. We are however going to ship the next batch in the next couple of weeks, and I’ll make sure you get yours as soon as possible.

• That sounds fantastic!

But I wonder, when did you email and which email address did you use. I have emailed the support address and just don't receive any replies.

James Sneddon, says "next batch" well I take that as one batch has already been sent, so some people have already received one, now was this before the adjustments ? or after ? the mind boggles.

Just a shame they don't give a universal update, would save them a lot of time answering email queries and giving out refunds no doubt. Feels as though we are being taken for granted.

they've obviously got egg on their faces now! Even more so if it doesn't work!
