Sounds like BBC Watchdog may be a good bet then. The opportunity to "crack" copious egg jokes would make a good early evening TV report I think.

After leaving a telephone message I'm afraid I had no answer. But please have a try - the link to the information is below.

applegate.co.uk/eggxactly-1597571 (add .html at end as not allowed to post full link)

I too sent email to trading standards which was, in effect, useless. I was directed to citizens advice and they gave me information about attaining a refund which seems similar to your comments Janetyjanet -letter before action, etc. What I did do was search the bankruptcy and insolvency website and nothing came up so presumably they are still officially active. What we really need is someone with an official capacity to contact Eggxactly and find out what is going on! -Dreaming.

In despair I sent another email to eggxactly but no reply. Not surprised, I think they have had it! If I lived closer to Staines I would go and knock on the door! But they probably wouldn't answer that either.

Problem is they are not on again until the Autumn now. The One Show might be a good bet, they sometimes cover stories like this.
  • suspect you'd have no joy with a personal visit as think the address is a maildrop - there are 80+ companies also with the same registered address.
Have left a message on the vmail but not holding my breath...

Yes you are absolutely right, sorry didn't do enough homework on that one.

Having tried the reasonable approach with 2 emails asking for updates, followed by an email and a letter requesting a refund - all with no reply - I've now given Eggxactly notice that I'll be going to Small Claims at the beginning of August.

I like the Watchdog suggestion - I see the website has a contact form asking for details.

Company Check reveals that Eggxactly Ltd are in mega-debt. At the end of 2013 their cash in the bank and assets come to £9000, liabilities came to -£323,240.

Judgeing by that I think you may have a small problem getting your money back.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

In that case do you really think you are ever going to see your money again.

would be less stressful to forget it.

    Photome,

I find your assumption that this process is stressful quite amusing!

Firstly, I would never had invested in the Eggxactly kickstart if I was not prepared for it to fail with the consequent loss of my money.

Secondly, there is a matter of justice to be served here. If Eggxactly took our money last October knowing that there was no product to test, despite promising that there was, then they are guilty of obtaining money by deception, and possibly fraud, both criminal offences.

Putting one's hands up in surrender, as you you suggest, is probably the reason why so many businesses get away with screwing the consumer.

    Think very carefully.

What is the point of taking a company to court if they have no money?

That is just throwing more money away.
