Wasn't this the "invention" where the inventor forgot to put the egg in the cooker and also argued with Peter Jones. When Peter said he wanted a 5 minute egg, the inventor said what he meant was a 4 minute egg, and Peter said no, I like a 5 minute egg.If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0

Yep, then he put an egg in & it wouldn't cook so he got the prototype & it still wouldn't cook an egg.0

Photome,
I find your assumption that this process is stressful quite amusing!
Firstly, I would never had invested in the Eggxactly kickstart if I was not prepared for it to fail with the consequent loss of my money.
Secondly, there is a matter of justice to be served here. If Eggxactly took our money last October knowing that there was no product to test, despite promising that there was, then they are guilty of obtaining money by deception, and possibly fraud, both criminal offences.
Putting one's hands up in surrender, as you you suggest, is probably the reason why so many businesses get away with screwing the consumer.
"Firstly, I would never had invested in the Eggxactly kickstart if I was not prepared for it to fail with the consequent loss of my money"
you say that, but you are obviously not prepared for it to fail, it has failed and you want your money back
You know the company finances yet you are going to throw more money at it with little or no hope of getting a result.
there is a time to surrender and a time to fight.
This business was never a business so they are hardly screwing their customers as they never had any0 -
I would imagine that most of us who signed up and paid money were fully aware that they might loose their money, as some have said its akin to kickstarter. indeed I suspect a large percentage knew history of the buiness. Seems to me that the thing that's getting up people's noses is the lack of communication rather than loosing money... But with small owner managed business such as this the lack of communication can be down to personal issues for directors/family....Who knows. I do kind of agree it not worth suing anyone for £30... But that's nothing to do with the finances quoted above ( I have not checked companies house and take them as read) debt of that level against those assets is all shareholder or unsecured debt... I.e might rank behind the customers-: I see there is a mortgage charge, but no asset so not sure this can be a priority. Easy enough to download the accounts for those who are really interested. Oh and the church street address is a registered office which is very different from a "mail drop" address.0

I have followed the story and decided to purchase 2 of the cookers and be a tester on the assumption that they were nearly ready to dispatch, but nothing received either, so In jan I sent an email as I was getting annoyed about lack of updates and got a reply, as time progressed and still no updates I sent another email in april 2014 and got a reply 02/05 which I have pasted below. Now on both emails they apologise about lack of updates, but how difficult is it to sent out a block email update or at least update the website, that is being rude and taking us customers for granted.
email reply
Dear xxxxx,
I apologise again for not keeping you up-to-date.
We finally received most of the parts we had been waiting for and have made considerable progress with the sub-assemblies. One part, however, is still with the printers which means that we are still not able to send out any cookers. In the hope that it doesn't take too long to get the remaining parts we hope to be able to send your cooker by the end of May.
Kind regards
Dotty Seddon

""So, where exactly is the Eggxactly now? Has Mr Seddon hit that one million target yet? The answer is no, not yet at least. The Eggxactly is due to hit shops during the Autumn of 2009. Originally, it was hoped that the product would be ready for Christmas of 2008 but this was not to be.""
6 years late and counting.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -
I suggest we (those who purchased, rather than those with just a general interest) write to them as a collective. Send me a private message of you want to be included. Can't hurt.Ta.0
