    Hey hon

Here's a big hug to help you get through today. I'm sure you'll be grand and wherever your dad is he's looking down on you with heaps of pride.

Have a great day :) xx

    Thank you sassychick.

    Thanks Chrysalis.

I have been more focused today. I have even got my sewing machine out for a long time and made a wash-bag for mum to use for her hospital visit tomorrow. I do tend to be very, very critical about my work so sewing brings pleasure and pain. I really enjoyed myself though. I think tomorrow I'm going to make a replacement bag for my laundry basket as the current one is a bit manky. I'm also thinking about rubbing down the wooden frame and giving it a coat of paint to spruce it up. I have the fabric (a lovely thick cream terry toweling) and the paint so why not. I'm also hoping that I will have enough left to make mum a bathrobe for Christmas.

I need to get my thinking cap on for my other Christmas gifts. I don't have many to get and the little one is already sorted but I have drawn a blank at the moment.

  • Wow puts my little apron to shame, I'd love to get a sewing machine as I'm seriously thinking about making my own clothes as I can never find anything I like in the shops.

Who do you need to get xmas presents for, male or female, rough age?

This is going to look pitiful.

Brother 48. I'm thinking a sarcastic t shirt. I may make him a nice leather belt too.

DH 47. It's always DVD's. He is easy but I hate the darn things cluttering up the place.

Mum 70's.??????? Slippers????????something else!!!!!! I'm still thinking a bath robe or perhaps a matching nightie and dressing gown. I really would like to make something for her.

Step son 20. Going to be money I guess. I don't like giving money bu some folks are impossible.

I leave DH to sort his family. I do offer to make stuff as they are mainly females who I find it easier to make things for but they would be offended if not something from a shop.

I wish I had continued when I got started a few months ago, it would have been done now.

  • Hey hon

Can you give me the pattern for the thinking cap please as I've had my machine sitting on the cupboard for months waiting for me to make the quilt that I'm going to make for Littley but can't get my head round how to do it!

Have a great evening :) xx

I was planning on making mum a quilt for Christmas. I decided last January......it now the end of October! I've never made one before and would love to do so but the thought of it scares me which is stupid as I've made wedding and prom dresses, clothes, reupholstered a three piece suite, etc.

    Perhaps next year ;)

What a lovely light morning. It lifts the soul doesn't it.

Anyway I was awake at 5.30 and up at 6.15 with the little one. I think my head is buzzing with a little more positivity. I spent last night in bed planning everything. I wrote a list of ALL cost paid out during the year, all debts (including family ones) and when they are due and need to be paid off and any important dates. I'm still going to struggle for the next two months but with more positivity I can do this.

Yesterday I joined the £10 a day challenge for November. I have done this in the past having success and failures but this one HAS to be a success. I have a f0lksy shop which I intend to put some things on and hopefully some may sell. I'm also going to scour the house for stuff to sell on eb*y. I don't have loads but may find some bits. I wish I had my old M*nsoon uniforms to sell...it was forbidden to do this as we could buy it at a massive discount but its years since i worked there so what would they know. I'm also going to put up some flyers and try to get some alteration work. I hate doing it but if it brings in the pennies it has to be done. And of course prom season will soon be on us. I currently have one potential customer but need to find a few more.

I have also decided that I'm going to do at least one job on my house each week. Be it replace tiles, paint a wall, whatever. I have a cellar full of stuff which not only will help the house look better but will declutter the hole from hell.

Also me, I need to start looking after me. So time to do what I need, time to pamper a little and I need to make myself some new clothes, mine are completely awful.

Lastly for now....excercise....I have a dodgy back, hips and currently carry and extra 3 stone which needs to go. We have some free weights which I do enjoy when doing them but need a regular routine. I also have a couple of Jillian Micheals DVD's. Any other ideas. I'm very, very unfit.

Right off to get the housework sorted then a day of nice stuff.

Today I have spent time sewing which is something for myself and I have thoroughly enjoyed it. It's nice to feel like I'm achieving something at last.

I spent last night working on my full financial plan. To be honest my head is spinning. Each time I think I have finished I think of something else. I'm enjoying doing it though as I'm stating to feel more in control and it should keep me on the straight and narrow once I have paid off the debts. I have also made a list of short, medium and long term plans. I've never been very organised but feel that it's needed to not get into a mess again.

Now I need to go and plan phone calls for tomorrow, appointments to make and bills to pay.

    Have a good Sunday.

  • Hey hon

Sounds like you're being very organised to me. Not sure if it will help but I found a fantastic website when I started doing all this stuff called https://en.todoist.com/ which I open EVERY day. I have everything on here that I need to do and you can put dates in - daily, thursdays, 31st or even just a date. It's helped me know end and as I said, I put everything on there including, check bank a/c, pay bills, transfer money where possible. All separate so I know I've done each bit. Best thing is it's free. The satisfaction when everything is ticked off and it says "all done, enjoy the rest of your day" is huge!

Hope the rest of your weekend has been lovely :) xx
