  • Today I have logged onto my internet banking. For some reason I seem to have slipped back into putting my head into the sand. I don't know why this has happened again but perhaps its just something caused by being in long term debt. Anyway the bank account looked good. This time last month I think I had about £25 left, this month somehow I have £273. I didn't expect to see that figure so perhaps it means that I have finally got my budgeting under control.

I still have the surprise cheque to bank but that will be going straight towards debt payments so I'm not thinking if it as mine.

So from sitting here shaking with my heart pounding as I was logging on I'm now feeling more content. All I have to do now is get my shopping for as little possible and save as much in the account until the end of the month. Whatever is left will go straight across to the emergency saving account as it's something which has been neglected while in debt and has caused some problems throughout the years.

I want and need something for emergencies.

I have got up with a spring in my step this morning. The living room and kitchen have been sorted. I have a few more jobs before dropping the little one at nursery which will give me 3 hours to have a mad run around.

Later I will be sorting out the sewing room to get it up and running. It's a way in which I can make some more money to pay off this debt as quickly as possible. I have to get it done today as it's back to work tomorrow.

I want to have a look at the finances too this morning and transfer some to the emergency savings pot. Also I need to work out what DH owes me for his treats I picked up the other day. I had forgotten until now.

I have also recently been on the oldstyle thread a lot reading about folks who have little money left and asking others what they can do to eek out what food they have. What shocked me was how much a lot of folks have in. I have a fraction of most of them and have now started to worry should there be a crisis I would struggle. I think its about time I sorted through the cupboards and started to build them up a little. Should times run hard again in the future I would like a bit to put in my belly.

So a cup of tea and a mooch here for 10 minutes then I must get going.

I found when I had scary amounts of debt that I had to do something each day to feel like I was making progress.

I was just mooching on DFW and saw the above posted by Buffythedebtslayer. What an effect such a small comment made on my thinking. How I wish I had read this all those years ago at the start of my debt free journey. I tend to overthink everything making life very complicated. If I had done the above with regard to debt or just the state of the house the difference would have been amazing. From now its the Buffy way. If you do read this Buffy, thank you.

So one small thing today. I will get the sewing room sorted. This is a double whammy as it makes the house look nicer and if more organised it will be a more productive, money making room.

Oh and also keep off the bread and cheese as this seems to be helping with the weight loss campaign.

I'm sick to death of the damn things and want them gone ASAP.

I'm in one of those moods.

    Impatient, me, never.;)

    Hello diary

    Total paid to date: £26,853.00
Last payment date and amount: 02/10/2014 £309.00
Next payment date and amount: 02/11/2014 £309.00
    Estimated total remaining debt*: £1,207.67
    Estimated completion date*: 02/03/2015

Things have been tootling along here and I have been paying off bits and bobs but I'm getting frustrated again so I thought a post may help me get back on track.

Above is he monthly statement from payplan. I'm happy with how t's going but feel frustrated that the remaining debt is still above the £1000 mark. I want three figures. Yep I know this will happen next month but if I want it paid by Christmas I'm really going to have to work hard. Also the completion date has shot up by two months. NO WAY, I'M NOT HAVING THAT. IT HAS TO GO.

Oh no the toddler is demanding attention. Back soon.

Ah thank you Gunwharf, that's very kind of you. You have done amazing well since your LBM.

I've had a funny day today. I had a few bad dreams again last night. It may be the dread before the MOT tomorrow.:eek::eek:. I have started to have dreams about being homeless again with the little one. It's completely irrational because I have a supportive family around me but I still find it unnerving. I think perhaps I have them when I start getting obsessed with paying off the last bit of the debt and getting some savings behind me.

I'm going to make a positive start tomorrow firstly by collecting every bit of money I have together (cash wise) and then getting up to date figures for everything. I will them check my budget sheet courtesy of memory girl. Most of my direct debits for the month are paid. I will check what else is owed, take out some cash for the food shopping and then what's left will go into the savings account until the end of the month where I will pay it off towards the debts.

Just the MOT to get through first.

If you're reading this I would stop now. It's a proper miserable, moaning post.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. I'm so angry with myself. I beginning to think I go out of my way to sabotage becoming debt free. Today I check the bank account and I barely have any money left. Enough to cover DD's but none for the two shops I will need to do this month.

No matter what I do I can't seem to get a hang of my money. I must be stupid because I can't think of any other reason for it.......or I secretly enjoy being in debt. The closer I get to the end the harder it gets.

I'm going to allow myself to stew for a short time then look at getting things sorted.

I just want to be out of this bl00dy debt spiral.

    *****************************************************
MMMMMM. I have taken a few minutes to think a little more carefully and the reason I have no money is because I have been making over payments on my debt which obviously I can't afford. One of them was a relatively large payment. I feel a new plan at the beginning of October is needed and until then a massive bit of belt tightening is due.

I'm off to check the birthday cards given in advance. You never know, there may be a bit of cash in them. Is that very naughty?
