So after a sabbatical from MSE mainly due to sulking regarding my revised figures for my DMP I have returned and this time its war. I was going to carry on with my previous diary but it was way to negative at times and I don't have time for negativity.
I had a review a few months ago as the DMP was due to end but when contacted two of the little ***** had added large amounts of interest. I have tried to get them to amend this but no go. So do you know what, I'll pay it, all of it then I'll tell them to shove it.
Anyway I need a plan. Where to begin? The next two months are a little difficult as I have had to drop a day at work losing a days wages each week. My DH said he will top me up but I need to make extra to pay off as much each month as possible.
Debt left to pay £4032.
Plan to pay of debt are cutting food bills as I do too many top up shops. This shouldn't happen as I meal plan but it does.
Start selling some of my own products again. I will make more effort to make time.
Declutter my very cluttered house and sell what I can.
Reduce utilities usage and petrol usage. More walking will help me loose some weight.
BE MORE ORGANISED AND NO PROCRASTINATION.
Firstly to the freezer and cupboards to see where I can cut back on food shops.

Well done for jumping back on the wagon so to speak. I've just started a diary myself and my goals are very similar to yours so I shall be watching with interest.
Good luck0 -
Thank you seasidegal and Lanny.
It feels good to be back on the wagon to be honest. I just need to not spend all my time reading everyone's diarys and do some money making instead. I do love a good nose though.
£285 paid off on the new regime today so off to a good start.

A beautiful day and a day for getting stuff done.
I don't get paid until next Friday so can't do much paying towards debts. I think the rest of today is going to be spent decluttering and cleaning to see what I can find to sell.
I think one of the main side effects of long term debt for me has been a complete lack of caring for myself and my home. I have been working hard lately to try and start to get this sorted but really need to work hard on achieving more.
Im so close to killing off this debt once and for all but think a complete fresh start at home is needed. I don't want the ghosts of the past ruining the soon to be achievement.
Time to take pride in what I have and who I am.1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%

Thanks Beanielou. It's something I haven't done in a long time.
A plan to destroy the debt even more quickly is starting to form. The first test of this is after payday....hopefully it will work.
I also need to start saving for annual cost so I can save money by not having monthly DD's and paying lump sums. Time to top up the credit union savings I think.1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%

I think one of the most difficult parts of dealing with debt is not living. Everything gets pushed to one side, things start to fall apart....well in my case anyway.
One of my big problems is the lack of care taken in my house. I have a cellar full of stuff which I could use to do a number of DIY jobs and make the hovel looking like a home again. I have been looking around the house and have decided that to start living again I'm going to put aside £20 per month to help out with any DIY projects. The first thing to tackle is completing the bathroom. This was started a long time ago. I have the tile and the grout to replace the ones which have fallen off. I have to paint to freshen it up. I do need to get blinds though, but they are such small windows and I have seen some which will come in my £20 budget. I also want to box in part of it where there are lots of pipes on show.
I do have one big spend which is I need to get a new basin as the current one got cracked. This will have to wait but I can make to rest of it look great with a bit of effort.
Also if I start using stuff stored in the cellar it will start being sorted without even trying.
Three weeks to the summer hols. I'm determined to make a head start now.1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%

I have just posted part of this post on another thread and decided to be lazy and copy it rather than re-type.
After a few months of avoiding the de-cluttering i think something has snapped in my head because now I can't stop.
So I have just emerged from under my bed. Blimey I could have stuffed a mattress with the amount of dust under there. Whats even more surprising is that there is space for dust with the amount of rubbish and stuff. Anyway one bin bag filled, the huge fabric stash dated with a date six moths from today and a pile of clothes for the charity shop. I have had my fabric stash for many years and have decided that if it doesn't get used in the next six months its being donated to the charity shop. I have got the summer holidays coming up so hopefully I will have a bit more space sorted to use some of it and make some desperately needed clothes........that fit the ever expanding frame.
Under the sink was cleared and cleaned on sunday while I was cooking the lunch and the stairs were cleared again yesterday. I started the big sort out of the cupboard in the bedroom last week and threw out loads. This needs to be finished but I can see a light at the end of the tunnel.
I don't know whats happened to my brain but I hope it carries on. Perhaps a normal, tidyish life is possible.
Apart from the above I feel that i'm really starting to get on top of my debts now. I have had a huge payout on the car recently but it hasn't sent me into my usual spin.
I need to hang onto this positive mood, it makes a massive difference to what I can achieve.1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%
