During June I decided that I needed a visual reminder of debt to be paid off. Anyway I stuck with a well used formula and drew up a grid of 100 blocks each one worth 1% of my debt. Since then I have managed to fill in 17 of those blocks which I was pleased with but have got stuck until next payday.

I need a visual to help push me along but I don't want to become bored of it not moving so have been looking at the budget to see what can be scrimped on. With horror I realised I was still paying H*meserve which I meant to cancel a while back as I have sourced cheaper cover which will cover the boiler too. The H*meserve only covers the pipes. So I need to get this cancelled saving a reasonable amount per quarter. The rest of it was pretty tight apart from the spends on the top up shops which is where to money starts to get frittered away. NOW CANCELLED

I will be breaking up for the summer and need to start working really hard on the challenges which I'm part of.

Debt free before Xmas 2014 - I really need to keep posting to keep motivated.

One debt v's 100 days - I have nominated my loan from family member and I REALLY want to be successful with this challenge. I achieved it once before a long time ago.

July grocery challenge - This is where I loose a lot of my money. I think a Scrooge mentality is needed. I meal plan each fortnight but end up running out a lot.

I also have a holiday in two weeks but tend to not spend to much and mostly on the toddler. We have decided to take a food shop with us which usually ends up cheaper for us. I may even steal an idea I saw on someone else's diary and cook a few chill is, spag bols and cottage pies to take to cut down on any lazy days where we may be tempted. We are planning a couple of naughty teas but I don't want to be led astray.

But before I go I want to get as much decluttering done and sell a few bits on eb*y if I can. Oh how I dislike dealing with eb*y but needs must.

Anyway enough waffle, I need to get on.

I have been pondering money this morning. I guess that's something most of us do all the time. I decided to check my DMP statement online and it's just over the £2000 mark. I was really happy with this as I think next month will be a big boost seeing it come down to well under.:j

I also checked the completion date which was 02/02/2015. It now says 02/01/2015. How happy am I and how rude would it be not to pay it all of before Christmas this year. It would be a fantastic Christmas present to myself and to go into a new year without that burden around my neck would be a dream come true.

So I need to find £309 extra which is a months payment.

I have been in debt so long even this figure seems a lot extra to find as budgets are so tight. So I decided to do some maths (not a strong point of mine)

Anyway we have 157 days until the end of this year :eek::eek:. Where on earth does time go? Dividing the £309/157 days = £1.97 per day to find.

    Embarrassed
    :o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o
    Very embarrassed

Not a lot really is it. Parsnip you fool.

Than I thought after seeing these figures that perhaps I could double it by aiming for a final payment date of 01/11/2014 ( £3.94 PER DAY). Imagine my first Christmas for a long, long time not being on a DMP.:j:beer::j:rotfl::p

Sorry got a little hysterical there.

Rather than paying off small amounts each day I'm going to put it into savings each day and pay off a larger lump each month.

I have decided to state it loud and clear on here.

I WILL BE DMP FREE BY 01/11/2014.

Where can I get stuck in?!!

Oh how I wish I had your decluttering genes. You can start in the cellar please. Mind you we may never hear from you again.
    My house please missko.

Oh no, you beat me to Missko.

Off to work today, boo hiss. but only two days until I break up for the summer so I really shouldn't be moaning. I would love to spend the day in the house doing some more sorting, perhaps I will have to take it out on my workshop to get it ready for next term.

    Have a lovely day all.:)

Update that sig and add your savings pot to it.

Oops yes, must do that. A bit of a scatterbrain here.

A bit of a good day here. Things seem to be going in the right direction. I have an order for a prom dress which needs sorting and also a potential wedding dress order. I have been working on my little business again with the hope of becoming full time self employed again in the future so I'm pleased and it gives me a little more confidence in my skills. I'm good at what I do but need to keep telling myself occasionally.

Also I have been worried about not socialising enough with my little one as I have no family or friends with children the same age. Anyway today I was talking about it with one of the mums at kindergarten and she said she had the same problem so we have arranged to meet up. This is a big step for me as I'm not very good at socialising. I did go to all the baby groups etc but being an older mum I always felt out of place. They would be talking about music and stuff and I'd be thinking that I thought the charts were no longer:o!!!!! Anyway this mum is of the older variety too so I feel a little more confident.

Now off to update the sig and move some more into the savings pot.:T
