Blimey I have spent most of today pressing the spam button. There truly are some stupid people out there.
Not a massive amount on the money saving front today. I did manage to get the last of the Christmas presents for DS. Whatever happens he is sorted. Now the rest of it needs to be done for as little as possible.
I have a few tough months coming up but at the end of it will be freedom. I still have the odd moment though such as yesterday. I keep reading about YNAB on here but even after a free trial I can't seem to sort it. I downloaded another free trial and after a bit of practise got the hang of it. I nearly decided to buy it then thought about the spreadsheet from memorygirl which is just as useful. I know it doesn't have all the gizmos but the thought of spending a good chunk of money seems stupid when I have something that works. I do like the way future budgets can be budgeted for but I can do that after a fashion on the spreadsheet. Perhaps I will use it for the next month and see how I go.
A NSD today which is positive ( the Christmas stuff was paid for from DH's part of the budget), mine was spent two months ago.
Right tea to sorts work stuff to deal with, child to bath and then put the feet up.1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%

A whine to myself.
Oh dear, things have gone completely wrong. I have taken my eye off the ball recently to be honest and with a number of other issues popping up I seem to have gotten myself into a real pickle.....all within site of the finish line too.:( I needed to borrow some money from a family member but need to keep paying it back but now ends don't meet. I'm feeling scared that I will do something stupid like a payday loan and end up in worse shape. I need to find a way to stop the tears and start sorting this. The crying is the worst as I'm usually such a strong person.
I know what i need to do to start sorting it but are struggling to function at the moment as I can't think straight.
I'm feeling very angry with myself and have begun to wonder if I will ever behave like a responsible adult around money.
Just a short time feeling sorry for myself then I need to formulate a plan of action.1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%

Just catching up a bit. It's so strange how our moods change, when nothing has materially changed. I've moaned a fair bit on my diary, but where can you get it off your chest if not here. Hope you bounce back soon 😄OSWL (start 13st) by 30Jun20 6/10

Thank you supersaver. We all need somewhere to get things off our chests. I'm not the sort of person who feels like I can do it in real life so this site in invaluable.
I will get things sorted but just not sure how at the moment. I thought at this time last year I would be free and clear and able to enjoy Christmas with the little one with peace of mind.
Oh well, this time next year...........1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%

I know how you feel. Everything is so tight at the moment and I'm hoping for better, but am taking what I can at the moment.
It's very hard not to get down about it all. My mood is very up and down. I'm trying to keep the up as being down is no good at all (but easier said than done especially when you have a little one and want to do your best).
Chin up and keep going. I am trying to cut all unnecessary spends, conserve my energy for moneysaving tasks like cooking, cleaning and job hunting. Try to keep yourself fit and healthy - you need to be strong to go forward.
You are doing a great job, you will get there. Hugs xOSWL (start 13st) by 30Jun20 6/10

Hey Parsnip
I've found you and returned the favour and read your diary. It's interesting to read your ups and downs but ultimately see how much you've achieved since you started this one. Sometimes I think we need to re-read what we've written to remind ourselves of how well we are actually doing.
Anyway, have started to follow you so will keep up with how you're doing. Will be lovely to see you be debt free before Christmas!
Have a great evexx

Oh I replied to this yesterday and what I wrote went missing. Bloomin technology, or perhaps me! The comment you wrote made me feel better. I think that's the best thing about this site, the lovely people who are there to send a nice word when times aren't so good. Thank you.supersaver1000 wrote: »I know how you feel. Thanks supersaver. I have been catching up with your diary lately. It's so helpful to read the stories of the amazing strong people here. I don't think anything could finish us off. I guess its one of the positives of struggling is strength.sassychick2014 wrote: »Hey Parsnip

Good luck with the job hunting.

Oh blimey you're brave reading my diary at the moment as I'm being a right miserable old c0w. To be honest there is little chance of being debt free by Christmas but I've been feeling a little more positive the past two days so I'm going to give a damn good try.
I need to make some careful plans and get things in order today. Its the anniversary of my dear dads death today and it puts things into perspective. He was a fun and positive person who always dealt with what life threw at him with the right attitude. He died at 48 and as I turned 44 a few days ago it's made me think. I refuse to spend any more time than necessary dealing with this darn debt, it has to go and as soon as possible. I have a life to live.
Have to best day that its possible to have. You and I deserve it.1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%

Hey hon
Here's a big hug to help you get through today. I'm sure you'll be grand and wherever your dad is he's looking down on you with heaps of pride.
Have a great dayxx
