  • Ah I hate drs like that because most are pretty good and you don't need a pants one when already feeling down. Glad he gave you the extra time off x

Ah clutter, my life is full of it despite hating it. My kitchen is a permanent store room for student files, athletics equipment and kids homework! If you've ever seen 'Timothy Goes to School' you'll know that there is such a thing as the Mess Fairy!

    Enjoy your relaxing bath.

    Paperwork.....phew....does it ever end.

I really wanted to get sorted before the mini whirlwind gets home. A short lunchbreak and off again.

I did a fortnightly shop this morning. Hopefully with what we already had in it can last for at least three weeks. Some bulk cooking planned again. It would be good to save some extra money this month.

I have also had a renewal quote for house insurance from my current supplier for £13 per month. I have been online and had a quote for £90 so the old one is going to be cancelled and the new one taken out. I'm going to pay this in one go and get rid of one DD. :jj

My car breakdown has also been renewed recently and shot up to £15.77. No way so this needs sorting to. I completely forgot in august.:( I need to get all of this it on the calendar so it doesn't happen again. If I can do this annually too that will get rid of another DD.:j:jj

I also need to look at my one life insurance policy. I don't need three and could do with £33 per month.

Right too much time on here is not going to get work done.

Today has been a better day and I have made some proper progress rather than faffing around.

I have paid off a debt of £62.59 which cancels a DD of £19.58. :j

I then got new house insurance which I paid the annual figure. It was £140 with £50 cash back after a short period. So the annual cost is £90 rather than the £189 my current insurer wanted. :j

My AA cover had increased over the past two years so this has been brought back down to £5 per month for a basic package. :j I was paying £15.77

I have cancelled Ancestry at £13.99 per month. I'm at a dead end anyway.

I have a insurance policy which was costing £33. I found a replacement for £8.59 per month. Oh how I've taken my eye off the ball, but now sorted.

So I have cancelled £90.34 of DD's this afternoon. I have two new DD's which will cost me £13.52

    The difference saved is

    £76.82 per month.

    :j:D:j:D:j:D

    So now.......

The house insurance is paid until October 2016. I need to start saving today for next years renewal.

My next big bill is car insurance and because it's a newish, new to me car, servicing costs for next May. This car needs to last so needs to be looked after. Another electronic pot for this.

I want as many bills as possible paid annually and as few DD's as possible.

Finally I'm taking control.........I still. Have the paperwork clutter to finish though.

    Thanks Icc86.

I think things can easily build up while life is being lived.

I STILL need to complete the paperwork pile from hell. When I s done, if it ever is, I want to get my filing cabinet sorted so I can get to things easily when they are wanted.

I also have a pile of ironing this morning and some washing to do. The washing is already on so when it's done I can do the last load.

I have a loan with two payments left. It finishes at the end of November but I have been thinking I may get it paid off today. I can cover it as there is only £180 left on the balance and it would be nice to have one less debt. I don't want to end up wasting any money if I have some spare this month and come the end of the month I can put those payments towards a card debt. I will ponder some more and decide this morning.

Right, ironing. Then hopefully this afternoon sometime in the garden putting some bulbs in to bring some colour come the spring. I have always wanted a border of daffs. :)

This morning, after a weekend of pondering and procrastinating I decided to pay of the loan which had two payments left. :jj I had gone through my budget and realised it could be done leaving just enough until payday at the end of the month. I also managed to save £23.72 in interest as well.:jj It will also give me an extra £91.50 to throw at other debts on payday.

So now I just have the credit card debts, my half of the car loan and my half of the mortgage.

My first focus is the card debt which I'm trying to pay off on the one debt V 100 days thread. I want this gone by the end of November now. I'm going to push, push, push to achieve this. Then I can start on the others......

Now I need to go and do some serious meal planning as the food I have needs to last three weeks not two. If only in could go five weeks but that would be silly............wouldn't it.

Luckily I have a big chunk of Christmas shopping done.:TT just some planning needed for the rest.

Now food, meal plan and sorting.

  • Fantastic news on the loan and the direct debits, well done I bet that feels so good! Blimey I thought I was getting somewhere with one present for xmas, you're streaks ahead I do have a few vouchers stacking up nicely.

That first credit card will soon bite the dust with the extra amount you will put towards it.

  • Great news on paying the loan off and also being able to pay your insurances up front. I never think to do that. I've both house and car insurance coming up so will be looking into doing that too.

Have a great day hon :) xx

    Thanks sassychick.

I [STRIKE]have[/STRIKE] had a list of DD's as long as my arm and something had to give. I'm feeling a little more in control now.

I have spent this afternoon watching a y0u tube video from Dave Ramsey and have got to the end feeling thoroughly focussed on what I have to do. The first being getting the baby emergency fund in place. I have read his book a couple of times but seeing it done live was something else.

    Focussed.:)
