I come home to a speeding fine. The ironic thing is we had been to the local RAF museum which is free to get in and I said it had been a cheap morning out.
My own fault but very !!!!!! of and angry with myself.
A cup of tea and a sulk for 10 minutes then I'm starting my life over again from 1.15pm. I can't go on like this, something needs to be sorted.

Isn't it surprising how something negative can become something positive. So after yesterday's bit of bad news I had a little sulk then started on my house like mad. I have been meaning to get my sewing room done for months but haven't found the motivation. Yesterday I did and a lot of the work got done before having to start my taxi driveing duties for the family. I have also started work on the curtain linings preparing for winter.
I also managed to put an extra £30 in my emergency savings account.:j
Today this carries on before taking DS out for a while. Oh and I need to get my work bag sorted rather than the usual night before panic.
Right time to get this room started so I can start bringing in some more money.

A day of looking at finances a little more closely. I was digging through paperwork and found my insurance paperwork for my mortgage. At the time of buying the house I was single with no dependants and had critical illness cover but no death cover. If I die then have the house, I wouldn't care. The problem is I hadn't changed it and have a husband and 4 year old to think of. I was horrified, what if something had happened. So today after some research life insurance has been set up and my family are covered in case the worst happens.
A feeling of calm has defended again.
I also seem to have turned the corner clutterwise. I have started searching through the little ones clothes and toys. Up to this point I have kept everything because every time I try sort it I get all over emotional and cry. I have finally come to terms that they won't be filled again and that it's such a shame to see them sit and rot. Also all the clutter is affecting the little one and I don't want him to live like this. Also seeing the very sad little boy walking through town yesterday made me think a little more rationally.
I have been reading Dave Ramsey again for the second time and think that this time it is really sinking in what needs to be done.
All in all a strange calm, organised, non procrastinating state seems to have settled over this little bit of the Black Country.1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%

Hi OrangeFairy.
Dave Ramsey is similar to Martyn :money: but a little different. He wrote a few books, one being The Total Money Makeover. He does say that the £1000 emergency savings fund should be saved before paying extra towards debt. This is the area where I have come unstuck and ended up in more debt again. If only I had an emergency fund in place then I would have been debt free over a year ago. Never mind.
I'm struggling with not overpaying debt though so will split any overpayments between debt and savings. I guess being on here for so many years the debt overpayment gets stuck in my head.
I have joined the one debt v 100 days challenge. I have a debt of £600 which I want to clear. If I can do this by the end of the 100 days then I will have cleared two at once as my final loan payment comes out at the end of November. :j that would leave two larger and one very small debt to pay off. I would also have an extra £110 per month to throw at them.
If only I could find some patience stashed away somewhere.
Decluttering going good here. A lot more to do but its getting easier and the feelings of attachment to stuff are becoming less restrictive on my decisions. I have one more week before going back to work and need to do as much as I can before then. At that point I will have Monday's and Fridays alone as DS starts school In September:sad: and I will use those days for DIY and decorating.
Off to do lunch then more bin bag action.

Morning diary.
My last week off before heading back to work next week. Stupid as it seems the stress levels are shooting up already. I think perhaps because the little one starts school the week after I go back to work and it means I'm going to miss the last week with him before he is sucked into the school system.Never mind.
I have a few things I need to do today. I have been sleeping funny so I'm in agony with my back today so it will be light work. If I keep moving it will help though.
* Sort out my bed linen draw. I have loads which I don't use so into the charity shop bag they go. Done
* Clean out the fish. Done
* Clean the kitchen and bathroom. Done
* Clean the oven.
* Vacuum throughout. Done
* Tidy DS's room.
* Continue with the decluttering.
* Play games with DS. Perhaps some painting. He is currently sitting on my lap having a cuddle.
That should keep me busy.1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%

Morning diary
A lovely morning here. I have been in the garden digging up potatoes and have 19lbs. Not a massive amount but I only put a few rows in after the disasters of the last few years. I'm sure with another dig I will get a few more.
Other money saving news. My new to me car has done 500 miles so far on a tank of petrol and has about 90 miles left. :j my old one used to just manage about 350. I'm really pleased with this and with a 6p of a litre voucher the fill up should be much cheaper on Friday.
I'm still working in decluttering but its hard going. I can see a massive difference though which is inspiring me to carry on. A few trips to the tip and charity shop are due soon.
Moneywise I need to keep plodding. My credit rating has dropped again but the figures are more important to me. I'm going to get a few tips and bits in ready for winter so I don't need to go out unless I need to.
Right while the little one is out I'm going to start attaching the curtain linings and get them off the stairs.
The oven...........let's not mention the oven. Runs and hides.1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%

Hi Ali,
I hope you're well, sounds like all the decluttering is helping you be more organised in other areas too. Hope you've had a good summer, well done on all the potatoes we only did 2 bags but we have 9 tomato plants on the go so should have a bumper crop!
That's good mileage on the fuel, nice to have these savings adding up.

Hello chrysalis
Lovely to hear from you. I hope you are well. I never have much luck with tomatoes to be honest, so have given them a miss this year.
