Well done on the progress, it's a five week month here too - they are the worst! Especially with this hot weather, seems to make it easier to spend money!!0

Evening everyone
INOD, I hadn't thought of debt neutral but I'm going to now. I do tend to get obsessed then can't see the wood for the trees.
Orange Fairy, thanks. I have real issues with page 13, chapter 13, etc which is stupid really. I have escaped the dreaded thirteen now.:T
Icc86. Hot weather equals a spend on some cans of beer to quench the thirst. No thought about the cost whatsoever. I'm enjoying it though, especially as I don't drink often.
I haven't been on really in the past day or two. I have had my nose stuck in a couple of books, one being the Dave Ramsey book. I have been reassessing my situation and realised I really need to get an emergency fund in place. So £1000 needed as soon as possible and debt free before Christmas. Can it be done? I won't know if I don't try.
I had two compliments today. One collegue asked if I had lost weight. :j. Later I was talking to another and grumbling about the lighting in the loos which makes grey hair glow. She said that she thought I was being daft and that I was probably only about 33....:rotfl:.........:D I'm 44. Off for a bit of pampering now. A bit of effort needed to keep things up.;)

Oops I seem to have missed a few days.
I have become a bit obsessedby the Dave Ramsey thing. I have always focussed on paying off debt but did nothing about the emergency fund. I have decided to change this and for the next few months focus on getting a £1000 emergency fund together. So many times I have gotten into problems by not having one and I think with one in place I can really focus on the debt without worrying about emergencies happening. Every fibre of my being says put every penny towards debt but I must be strong.
I was close to being debt free last year but a couple of emergencies sent me back towards the credit cards and I don't want this again.
Still aiming for Christmas though.;) I will need to look at budget AGAIN though.
I had another person ask me if I had lost weight. Feeling better about myself and its motivating me to keep going.:j
Off to put the little one to bed then think about some decluttering.1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%

Hot weather drove me towards the beers too! I don't know about you but I felt guilty thinking about what readers on here may think of me frittering a couple of pounds away on beer. Sometimes you just have to treat yourself :T0 -

wow you are doing so well!
I tried the emergency savings thing and got up to £750 and then my car broke, and I really didn't want to put a dent in my savings so I put the repair on the credit card.:o
at which point I realised there wasn't much point in emergency savings for me until I'd cleared the cards LOL (cards were attracting interest and savings as near enough were not) - I'm sure you are much more sensible though!:AA/give up smoking (done)0 -

I didn't feel guilty to be honest. I don't have any other treats so I'm not going to worry about £1.29 on a beer. The occasionally treat is needed, we may be doing but we are humans.;)in_need_of_direction wrote: »And to celebrate milestones.
Unfortunately there wasn't a milestone, I was just hot. No excuses really, but it was nice.:Dwow you are doing so well!

Feeling a bit poo at the moment. I took DS to a soft play birthday party earlier and a good time was had. Anyway one of the mums showed me a picture of her DS putting on makeup in her bedroom. It was funny as he is a proper little boy. Her bedroom was lovely. Neat, beautifully decorated and grown up. It made me feel about ashamed about the state of this place. There is no way I would let DS invite anyone around at the moment, its such a mess. There is a lot of work to do such as a new kitchen and new windows bits it no excuse for the mess. Nothing ever gets finished. Tonight and tomorrow are going to be spent on the house, even if the weather is gorgeous. Living like a student in a squat is stupid in my 40's. I really wants grown up house, not a Showhome but a pretty, comfortable home.
I think it's been the kick up the bum i needed.1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%

GOOD MORNING
Today is the be sorting and decluttering day. I started this morning when I got up at 5am with some done in the bedroom. I'm going to get the kitchen and bathroom sorted before DS heads off to nursery for the morning then its the big push for three hours. It's going to be hard work but I'm feeling VERY motivated. Once I break up on Thursday the final decluttering will need to be cinemas next Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday are going to be decorating days with DS being at work for 2.5 days. I want to go on holiday at the end of next week with a decentish house tomreturn to. Then it will be keeping at it until its done.
Not going to get done sitting on here. Bye1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%

Evening diary
I have had a couple of days of from diaryland. Sometimes it needs to be done.
I have broken up for the summer and usually I would have had a massive day to day list of things that I want to do but I haven't bothered this year. The main reason is because I set myself completely unrealistic targets which when I fail to achieve gets me down. So I have decided this year that I'm going to come online and say what I have achieved to keep myself motivated. Anyway tonight I have attacked the privet hedge and now I can see all of my washing line again rather than just half of it. I feel much better getting it done.
The only plans I have made is .......
Continue decluttering
Freshen up the paintwork in sitting room.
Spend plenty of time in the garden. I need some me time.
ZtRt working on some repairs and improvements.
I have a long list typed out from a while back so I will be looking at that for ideas.
Money saving and paying debts today..... None I'm afraid.1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%
