  • The dd I try to avoid at all costs is my rates bill. I find it easier to squirrel away than to lose over £140 per month from my account.

Oh INOD. That's a big chunk. Luckily my council tax is only £86 per month. Thank goodness for my Band A terraced house. I would like to be able to save this amount ahead and already have it for when it comes due.

My plans recently have been to fully step back into self employment. I currently work three days in my job but have four days to work for myself. I have found a unit at a well known craft centre for a VERY reasonable rental which I'm considering. It will give me a shop window for my work which I need to be honest. I can get a premium for my product and even though I'm in the process of setting up a website having a studio will push my work more to the forefront. I'm sick of being scared and of waiting. Waiting for the right time, waiting for permission, etc, etc. No more waiting. I've done it before and I CAN DO IT AGAIN.

I would be working seven days, which is fine, but eventually would like to just do the a of employed bit and drop them regular job. A terms notice is a pain but a trial run up until the new year will give me an idea of how feasible it is. I have a business plan in place and all the costing. Also it will be a joint venture with DH but I shall be cracking the whip.

Off to call the lady in charge. Wish me luck. A very excited parsniphead.

Thanks chrysalis. The phone call and the subsequent viewing went well. There were two units but I prefered the smaller one. Its a viable idea BUT its the debt holding me back. I have much of the equipment but would still need some to start up. I can cover all payments even if I make no money, which I don't want to do obviously, so I'm not too worried about that. I would love to get in soon as they have a couple of big Christmas weekends coming up soon. Decisions, decisions.

I will have to PM you what I do as I would out myself to anyone who knows me as there are not too many of me around, especially in the sunny Black Country.

Today I need to continue with my business plan and make some final decisions.

  • Good morning, I'm lounging in bed before I have to get up and take the kids to swimming lessons.

Business sounds great and definitely if you can manage to get in before the Xmas build up it would be an advantage, people would also know you were around then in case there's anyone with some money left through the January sales.

I hope the plans and decision making go well.

    Good morning diary.

    Excuse the rant but............

IM SO SICK OF STUFF, CLUTTER, JUNK, TAT, BITS, BOBS, COLLECTIONS.........and on and on and on.

I'm also delaying the inevitable getting on with paperwork but that's another story.

This morning I spotted black mould. panic big style. It has to go. I can do this except......the stuff. It's almost impossible to get around. So many corners cluttered up and areas impossible to get to. The scary thing is that I have thrown out so much stuff already. It all has to go. I'm so fed up with all this stuff the idea of getting rid of all the baby stuff is looking easier. I have struggled with this in the pas, mainly because I wanted to fill it again. But I'm 45 this month, it's not going to happen. I need to make this house a home and as nice a home as I can for my little one.

Right baby steps. Im going to spend one hour doing my paperwork. It has to be done before tomorrow so no point in keep putting it off. The thought of returning is scaring me witless but I have to do it. Bills to pay, debts to kill, etc. im going to have to cope day by day until I can change where I am and what I'm doing.

Once the paperwork is done IM going to spend the rest of the day cleaning, clearing and sorting something out.

I also need to try to get down to have another look at the workshop before I make a final decision. I know which way I'm falling but need to make sure it's right.

Now off MSE. It's taking up another day.

  • Morning x Feel free to rant away if it makes you feel a bit better.

I am the same I put things off over and over again, I have files to mark that are just sitting there and I know they need to be done.

I try and do one task, then take a break to out some washing on or do the dishes then do another task. If you can declutter one shelf/area/drawer at a time it will soon go down.

Get your paperwork done then have a brew, you'll feel so much more in control.

Isn't it amazing how sorting and putting on the washing is so much fun when trying to get out of something else.

My trouble is I get emotionally attached to everything. Not good.

I think I may have gone and rented a studio.
