    Hi Parsniphead.

We have single glazing too so cuddle fleece sounds good. I think we have some in a door curtain someone gave me, its a great insulator. I keep meaning to buy some for our bedroom curtains, they were also a gift (Laura Ashley fabric) they need a wider header so I'm pondering just inserting the fleece between lining and curtain, then sewing on new header and perhaps a few tacks down each side. It's either that or pay someone to do it properly which I don't think is necessary. If you bought your fleece on line can you post a link:question: please?

We've also got a velux window in the bedroom and I need to decide how to curtain that too because these lighter mornings are very bright. We need to order some logs soon too. Winter prepping too :rotfl::eek::)

Your debt busting is going great, can't wait until we're at that point. Going to be a fair while yet, but we'll celebrate your dfd when it comes first, it's really motivating to see your progress :)

    Hi supersaver.

I did get it online and I got it from below.

    http:// http://www.abakhan.co.uk/fabric/fleece-fur/plain-soft-touch-cuddle-fleece-double-sided-ecru-152cm.html

I had seen cheaper but it was much thinner. I have also had fabric from them before and the service was good.

I should have popped to Birmingham Rag Market really but the thought of fighting my way around it with a four year old is enough to give me nightmares.

I'm going to attach mine temporarily. Curtain making is a pet hate and only done when necessary. As soon as people find out you can see all people want is curtains and trousers turned up.

Things have been a little odd for the last couple of days. I have been feeling a little anxious about money so I have tried to relax and focus on something else to keep me on track. Another £10 paid today. The figures are as follows.

    To be free by Christmas
    Days left 202
    Balance left £1542.11
Minimum daily amount needed to clear £7.63

If I'm aiming for my birthday it's the following figures
    Days left 141
    Balance left £1542.11
Minimum daily amount needed to clear £10.93

I have money being put in Monday and still have some owed so a little bit more to be thrown at debt before the end of the month.

On another subject I was mooching online the other day and saw some photos of countdown Carol and how she looked now compared to in the 80's. There is no reason why because im in my 40's i should look like i do. Now I've never had much confidence in how I look but debt has totally dragged me down. I've put on loads of weight, my clothes are in a right state, my skin is a mess and quite frankly I look poor. I don't know a better way to put it, sorry.

Earlier this year I lost a stone quite easily if I'm being honest, but for some reason just stopped trying. So now I'm going to start again. The clothes....well as a dressmaker I have no excuse.....some sewing I think, and no more saying to myself I will wait until I have lost weight and the skin, more care and drink lots of water. I go on holiday in five weeks and want to see a difference by then, in all areas. Back to my fitness pal and food logging I think.

Off for a nice bath now.:)

Thank you Parsniphead, looks a good website. Nearest to us is Fabricland in Bristol, but I couldn't drag the 15 year old around, she was complaining about walking from town to the car earlier and was too exhausted to come round the supermarket :D

I put on a stone this year and feeling a bit frumpy, but I went for a run today and thought, there's no time like the present. I see some older and/or not stick thin people and they look great - simply making the most of themselves.

I'd love to do some more sewing - I can just about sew in a line, but there are some great simple tops and skirts to make. And I've had a few good CS finds recently. I just don't want to spend a lot on clothes anymore.

I have to head into Birmingham to get fabric which is a nightmare. The local town where I live was destroyed years ago when the big out of town shopping centre was opened. No where to shop locally and the shopping centre has little choice. Generally phones, clothes and phones. Dreadful place. It's so much easier to shop online. That said if I want something a little more glam the local Asian fabric shops are lovely.

You're right about making the best of yourself but its easy to let things slip.

I've had a few nice charity shop finds recently and bought a few things so I'm looking a little better.

Feeling in control again today. Going to hit the junk again in a bit. I only ever half fill the wheelie bin so I have half spare each week. It's being filled today.

Another £15 thrown at debts this morning. I still have £24 owed to me which has usually been paid by now. I may have to bite the bullet and remind them. They have more money than I do.

I should have spent the weekend on paperwork but didn't. Oooops. I will have to do some this morning as we have an impending ofstead visit. I just want to do some clearing out though.:(

I know Parsnip. I look in the mirror sometimes (most of the time) and get a shock. It's mostly my weight - I've started exercising so just need to eat less :D - but my hair really drags me down. Need to find a hairdresser I trust, who doesn't cost the earth to give me a stylish cut and get these greys covered.

Sorry to hear about your local town, our own isn't too bad, but Id really like to develop my own style, without costing the earth. :rotfl: once my craft room is sorted I'll be doing some experimenting. Roll on the next sewing bee.

I feel you pain about finding a good hairdresser. I had long hair until the beginning of the year. I decided to have a short pixie cut and found a local hairdresser who turned out to be fab. It's hard though, I have had so many disasters in the past. I do think about dyeing it as I have as white/grey shows up massively on my dark brown hair but I may just let it go grey as I do think it looks good if well kept.

I love the comment about developing your own style. I used to have one and now it's just depressing....jeans and t shirt or jumper I feel so dowdy when I look in the mirror. How and when did this happen?

Sewing bee. Love it. It's the only TV programming I watch.

No payments today as my account is running short and I want to keep my savings intact. It's a bit annoying but I'm still ahead of the game as I have overpaid each day so far. Plus its the first time I have any savings which is stupid at my age but better late than never.

Feeling very stressed today as I couldn't log onto work email yesterday so I don't know if an ofstead visit has been announced until I get there. I feel sick.

I still need to get my outstanding owed money. I got what DH owed me last night but can't get hold of the garage money. One missed payment and that's it. I'm not paying for someone else to garage their car.

Right a few bits of housework then off to work.

Just popping in to say I love your idea of breaking down your debt into daily payments, really helps make it seem less daunting and more achievable!! Well done on your progress and I think I'll steal your idea when my debt becomes a bit more manageable!
