I'm aiming for 15 spend free days.

If it's not too late, I would like to be included Kat.

This morning I have done an hour's weeding in the garden - kept checking the time on the oven timer when I came in for water. Not sure about my heart rate but was breathing heavily after the first 5 minutes and I seem to be slightly whiffy, so sweat was involved. Intend going out later to do some digging but need to wait for the sun to move round as I am out of sunscreen and decided not to buy - am hoping there is still a lone bottle in the drawers in the attic but think I asked DS3 to check last time he climbed up.

Since coming in I have done 5 stork repetitions which interspersed with walking along the landing and back on tiptoe, taking the smallest steps possible as it is all about control - I am managing about 30 (average) steps to cross 6' of landing. DS3 thought I was running up and down the stairs:rotfl:, something I used to do in the advert breaks when they were little. This is the one that will get me back up the ladder and it is much stronger than last week, so hopefully the trip at the polling station was only a temporary setback. Those took half an hour so the full 100 would be 10 hours - will do as many as I can.

Also want to spend some time tidying the bedroom - want to have enough floor space for the exercise mat to start doing some gentle yoga/ pilates. DS3 is going to gf's tomorrow - would have already gone but for Sunday service buses and trains. He has promised to try not to argue with her parents, even if he thinks they are "being mean to my beloved". She is desperate to see him - she only went home on Thursday.

You can add an extra challenge bit on for me Kat - to make it fairer if I am not doing a full exercise routine for a week or two. I want to keep up the hour a day in the garden, there's plenty to do and of course the more of the physiotherapy I do, the sooner the house renovation can recommence,

My challenges, should you choose to accept me:-

Food budget £50. Already counted the £34.97 shop I did 2 weeks ago in this months budget. Have £10 of nect*r points which will be utilised at some point but atm the plan is to get as far into the month as I can on what is already in the house. Suspect breaking point will be lack of fresh fruit and veg - the bananas were finished off last week, only 2 apples left. Want to save them as 'treats' but don't want them to go off. Hoping one portion of strawberries in sugar free jelly and one portion of fruit juice a day will see me through this week. have some things from my food parcel that will have to be strictly rationed as well.

Aiming for 24+ No Spending Days

Allowed £10 for travel but hoping not to use it.

Also feel the need for an apology to my ex-husband - he had extremely
selective diy skills - he was very good at bike repairs (only his own), SLR cameras (he had many) and hi-fi systems (had his own little welding rod). Anything else - my department. I think he once tried to show DS1 how to repair a puncture - the poor child must have been all of 4 yo.

Thanks to Fmess (apologies if it was someone else) for mentioning Father's Day. Had been worrying about needing to get a birthday present for my mother's partner (actually been mentally kicking myself since January as saw his usual aftershave in Wilco's for £2 instead of £5, told everyone about it and it had gone when I went back the following week), but realised it is my ex-husband who has a birthday next month on the 22nd (usually same time as Father's day) and I have another month grace.

So I have a dilemma. Sorry had a dilemma but the situation is getting more complicated by the minute but my part is sorted.
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.

Today I can claim my first NSD :j.

Last month I kept columns in my notebook with the budgetted amount for each category at the top. Then, as I spent, I subtracted it, so I always knew how much I had left. This way worked for me, so I'll employ it again.

Today I am grateful that the party dd went to wasn't a screaming and shouting and running around one (it takes her daaaays to recover!), that mothernerd has joined us all, that the daisies are prolific, that I have a good book to read, that my sewing machine works.

Me again. Hope you are having a good day. Lovely and sunny here and we have just had tea in the garden. Curry paste, poppadoms and mini nan all from approved foods so just added some veg and tinned tomatoes. A proper feast.

Checked my bank accounts this morning and paid £170 off my credit card. Leaves enough to pay my avon invoice (will get some back from customers) and £100 contingency for the vets. The cat is now on tablets for high blood pressure and is being monitored. The tablets are being crushed and mixed with cream cheese and are going down very well which is a bonus! She loves phili (garlic and herb or chives are just fine) strange kitty. She is almost 19!

My food budget is less than usual this month as we are recently fully stocked having had deliveries from morrisons and approved food on wednesday of this week. Also fairly well stocked with cat and rat food so shouldn't need more than £20 for that.

I'm in, will put my budgets up tomorrow when i have a bit more time.

I can do all the challenges apart from the exercise. Medically not good for me to do exercise at the moment.

Am hoping I can be back up to my full posting self this month but it all depends on the moving thing.

    Good luck for June everybody.

What are you using it for, if I may ask?

NinjaSavingKat, can I join the challenge, please??

It is very much what I need at the moment - budgeting and weight loss. :j

    My spending target for the month would be 150 pounds, not including clothes;
    Aiming for 16 no spend days;
Will be exercising 3 times a week for 20min - that's plenty for the beginning...

    Happy June Everyone!

Can't believe we are half way through the year already! Targets for me this month are:

SFD 0/15 - managed 20 last month, but would rather go over again this month than not make it

    Petrol £30 - didn't manage £15 last month, I think £30 is the minimum I can do

Groceries £80 - just scraped under last month, will try and stay at least £10 under in preparation for going less again next month.

Misc £40 - this is mainly for treats for DD, but I also take nappies, etc out of this one.

Exercise 25/30 - I'm continuing with the insanity dvd's which are 6 days a week, as well as doing the 30 abs challenge and starting running again. I know I'm going to have days when I really aren't up to it, but will be secretly going for 30/30

Menu planning and eating properly 30/30 - I did this in April, but stopped in May and my eating habits have gone back to dreadful so am setting myself a target for it again. I've done a menu plan for this week and next, and have started by eating 3 meals today.

Tidy flat 30/30 - again, I didn't set myself this as a target last month, and things are starting to slip again. I get the flylady emails every day so I'm going to start following them.

I really need to start getting in the habit of being generally organised, something that has never come easy to me. Starting the access course and maths gcse in September means that I'm going to be studying a lot, so I need to have good routines in place, otherwise it will soon start to get out of control.

Anyhoo, did a shop in Aldini today, got enough for the week, including 2 weeks nappies so apart from milk, I don't need to visit the shops again!!

    Totals today
    SFD 0/15
    Groceries £13.99/£80
    Misc £4.49/£40
    Petrol £0/£30
    Exercise 1/25
    Meals 1/30
    Tidy 1/30

Here's to a successful month to us all xx

At 3pm today I was delighted to think I would achieved a SFD on the 1st even after being out for the day. Then OH decided to stop at the shop on the way home for a drink and we spent £25! The weekly shop only cost £20 this week! To be fair he does usually abide by SFDs and we didn't have anything for him to drink but water and tea (I'm happy with water but he only drinks things with caffeine in). However, we have had a gorgeous dinner, the dogs all had treats, we have tea bags for the month and OH is hydrated! We may well be living on toast very soon!

Will update totals when I get on my laptop tomorrow. No exercise today but did do 12117 steps :)
