NSK: The June Overhaul!!!

Ok so here goes.
Spending CC is in the freezer and payments set up for it. Was going to use it to buy DHs birthday present but thought no actually I need to just manage! I've had to use it for unexpected car repairs, such a pain.
I've been paid so everything accounted for this month, also managed to pay for my car insurance IN FULL without using a CC as I had already saved for it. Just a pain about the additional car repairs, feel cheated as I have saved up for my tax, mot and insurance yet the lesson has been learnt I need to save up more.
Planning for 10 SFD and anything on top is a bonus
I'm doing an exercise challenge on another forum so am aiming for 3 sessions a week, as I am having my surgery I may have to see how I go and do area specific workouts, so abs and upper body.
The monthly shop arrived on Friday so the freezer is fully stocked with meat. We have £60 on our Iceland card (£30 we had saved on it from the 1ps, 2ps, 5ps, and 20ps we are putting away and the other £30 was from the fact we spent a certain amount in a certain time so free shopping) so we are going to stock up the freezer with veg, bulk buy loo roll and buy milk to freeze! I'm hoping that we won't have to spend anymore on food this month being as it's a tight one.
DHs birthday this month, I'm going to buy him a new razor and we are going to have a day out which will probably involve lunch out using one of our many discount advantages. For Father's Day I'm going make stuff with the kids and cook a nice lunch.
I'm off out for dinner with the girls so I've put money away for that, also have the money for DDs dancing for the next half term.
I regularly donate to a local charity and am looking to do more fundraising for them through work.
Other than that I don't want to plan too much as I don't know how my recovery will be, I'm told I will be able to walk after the surgery but will obviously have to take it easy.
So today the 1st June marks my first SFD (yesterday was as well incidentally)
Feeling strong and positive.Squirrelling away in September No 33It's not about the money, it's about financial freedom, being in control of it and living in the natural world and not a material world0 -
Hope everyone is getting some sunshine today, I have already dried one load of washing on the line and the second is out there now.
I am aiming for 20 SFD's this month as there are no school holidays, no trips planned anywhere so I should be fine with that.
I do 8 exercise sessions a week ranging from 20 minute runs, 45 minute bike rides and 1 hour gym sessions, on top of that I walk 40 minutes a day doing the school run plus 45 minutes to 1 hour a day dog walking. I never do things by halves and love being active.
My last weigh in day for June is 27th and I aim to lose 7lb by then.
All money is budgeted now, debt repayments done, envelopes full where needed, Fathers day is budgeted for too. DS is going on a school trip on 12th but as yet school haven't graced us with a letter so we can budget for that so I have had to guess.
Today should be my first SFD, DS is football training, DD is riding and the rest of the day will be spent enjoying the sunshine at home.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

:T:T:T Good Morning June Bugs!!!:T:T:T
What a day! We usually say to each other within our family "Rabbit Rabbit" instead of "a pinch and a punch" probably because my brother used to the punch bit a wee bit too hard!
Anyway - WELCOME - to all the newbies! I am proud of you for stepping into the open from lurkdom and joining the gang. I think this month will be supreme fun! Mr Cobes - welcome back from Australia - and MotherNerd we are glad you are cheering us on.
I usually like to cheer you all into June at midnight with a horrifically cheesy poem of sorts but I apologise I am on stand-by for toddler-waching when my friend goes into labour which we believe will be any day now. She is due on Wednesday and I am the closest in the "family" to get to her and watch her little boy so last night was sleep time just in case I was up with the hour...
No baby yet..
So I am sat here with muggy running around, my face mash on (me not the cat) and black beans on the go to make a lentil loaf as I don't enough lentils left...
But I want to share with you where my money is going this month. I know I am debt free but since I am going traveling I still feel under serious pressure and I want you to see how I am doing it.. you might be able to give me some tips....:T:T:T
Right...
The Essentials..- Tithe - £240
- Charitable Donation by DD - £10
- Rent & Bills - £350
- Travel Fund - £1300
- Train Ticket - £187.50
- Bus Tickets - £52
- Food - £130
- Cinema - £16
- Phone - £20
Miscellaneous spends come to £274 (rounded up).- Bike Brakes - £70
- Cat Annual injections - £35
- Cat flea/worm treatment from vet friend - £30
- Toiletries - £15 (I have £5 on my Boots card)
- Friend owed - £11
- Credit Card (for another friends birthday) - £28
- Cat litter and food - £29.33 (will last 2-3 months)
- Beautician (don't ask) - £14
- Mineral Make-Up - £18.47
- Petrol to see my cousin - £40
- Holland And Barrett Perfume - £4 (I have £8 on my H&B card)
And there you go....
I have already spent £21.49 at Tescos / £6.01 at Waitrose and £2.37 at Lidls. = £29.87. My limit is ££32.50 a week. So with precisely £3.13 I won't be going far this week.
Right theres a very honest posting for you. I would like 15 SFD's this month again although I have no outings / dinners or parties to go to so I might ramp it up a little and aim for 20? Hmmmmm we'll see.....
I pay £13 a week for my bus fare. That gives me 7 day a week use of the useless bus service although I only need 5 days so if I pay in cash everyday I spend £14.50 - so I save by buying a weekly ticket. But if I walk at least one way each day ( home from work is easier ) I would only need to spend £9.50.... YEAH RIGHT. Might have to think about this one considering it's a 40 minute walk home.
Anyway I gotta go make my not-lentil-but-bean loaf. Should last 3-4 days! Am working from 1400 until 2300 so my next update will be from work. Deep joy!
However the travel fund now sits at £4000 hard cash so something is working.

Nope not at all. It's a simple challenge to keep you on track with savings and spendings and a little community of people to give you a boost when you need it.“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. hi all, what a glorious day! The sun is shining and I have been pottering in the greenhouse all morning, repotting and getting organised. Enjoying the first of the season's home grown lettuce as my salad for lunch, its delish!!! :j
Spent £4.51 in Te$cos on a few essentials so a spendy day for me. Done my first day of the 30 day ab challenge, and drunk lots of water instead of coffee so with my low fat salad, Im feeling a little virtuous!!! :A
Hope its sunny where you are, enjoy your afternoonmortgage £800 overpayment 2022. £600/£2400 2023 🙂 savings £1853/£1800 😊0 -
Hello all! Hope you are all enjoying this gorgeous weather!
So my targets for this month are
15 spend free days - Ive managed 12 for the past two months but hoping being more organised will help me get to 15 this month
£185 groceries - this includes toiletries/cleaning products and food for 2 adults and a cat
16 exercise sessions - 20 minutes of my Zumba dvd 4 times a week. I really enjoy doing this so hopefully this will be easy to achieve
Lose 7lbs - Ive been eating healthy and losing weight as part of my new years resolution (longest Ive ever stuck to a new years resolution!!) and so far lost 39lbs. Thought I'd be happy when I reached a 40lb loss but don't think I am...
£60 personal spends - so £15 a week just for bits and bats but will try not to spend a lot of this and put into savings instead but I do need new work shoesand need to get Fathers day cards. Both mine and OH's families not big on these sort of occasions so no need to buy presents
No petrol budget. Me and OH share a car and because he uses it the most he pays for petrol. And he drops me off at work and picks me up because he drives past my work to get to his so no travel costs for me
Aiming for a SFD today as I did all my shopping yesterday for this weekBought cat food and toiletries for the month as well as a weekly shop. Also went to Costco and bought enough washing tablets to last 6 months as they were cheap! Ended up spending £57.95 out of grocery budget. Also bought some storage cabinets for bedroom and kitchen at a total cost of £15 which will come out of personal spends
Good luck everyone0 -
