Back from Australia on the 1st May, 1 stone and a bit overweight, many pounds lighter in the bank balance...sickness and well you can guess ? For a week...now a cough cold and possibly hay fever.
This is my birthday month so escaping away as it costs me a fortune normally when others decide I need to celebrate it by treating them ...really...

So get a grip time ...
Holiday one week already paid 7 days.....all inclusive but < shrug>
NSD. 15/30...going to increase this but set a minimum
    Grocery shopping all ...£ 80
    Petrol £50
Going out £80. Believe me this is good, I need to come back down.
    Weight 12st 6 Ib
    Exercise..4 times a week + =16 minimum

I have made no provision for airport parking as I am debating taxi or park..will be about the same but late in on the way back so ??

No dry cleaning ....or catching up with people that ' must ' see me, provision made ...going to keep this to a minimum....

Right game is on...I will be watching others...and if they begin to wobble....I will ask..do you really want me to fail in my duty to the hardworking...sensitive..etc NSK by allowing me to fall by the wayside :rotfl:

:T ok lets do it <<<<<. That's encouragement BTW

Morning all! Well here it is June and we have the sun to cheer us on :T

My aim is to have as many spend free days as possible. As I pay the maximum my budget allows to my debt each month without sending the kids up chimneys :D I don't really have extra for extra things ect. However, this month I seem to have an extra nearly £200. I keep rechecking my figures as I must have forgotten something

Anyway, I will have a good look at your yoga link KK:) and probaly alternate exercise to make sure i'm doing something! I have made an appointment with the bank today for Wednesday, to get my sons bank account transferred to him with a limited cash card. I feel if he had this in the first place, what happened wouldn't have as he wouldn't feel the need to carry large amounts of cash.

Today will be spent decluttering (yawn) :D getting ready for tomorrow. For those with kids, can you believe next month we hit the summer hols already  I cannot believe that I have been part of this gang for nearly a year and for the 1st time ever, there are minuses to my debt in unprecedented proportions!

Well take care everyone and good luck to another make it count month. Have a good day :T

    Morning all

I'm back with my targets for this month:)

12 NSD -I never managed a single one last month:o
    £265 food
4 exercise sessions per week =16 (just joined the council gym)
    Minimum 7/day f&v
Cut down/out sugar, all takeaways and all wine during the week
    Lose 7lb
Save/raise £309 towards holiday in July
    Keep a spending diary
Tick off 3 things on my 50 places to visit/to do list with DH and DS

DH is away for 3 days next week so I will try and be as frugal as possible and eat mainly veggie meals, use my gym membership and catch up with the housework and ironing which has slipped a bit with me being away twice on holiday last month. Will also do a large and freezer list to keep the food spends under control.

Thank you mothernerd for the gardening info - I must print your email and go and rootle through my box of seeds to see what I have.

It's lovely to have a sunny start to June - thanks for arranging that, kat!

I've already spent £112 of my travel budget on the train journey north for dd and me in July. My best friend comes over from Spain every year for 2 months with her kiddies, to stay with her mum. Other years, we've stayed with them for a few days, then my sister for a few days, then come home. This year, my friend's niece is over from the states so there is no spare room. I booked a cottage just down the road from them - allows pets so will have to pack plenty of antihistamine - in April. Paid it all, so nowt lingering there. I looked at splitting tickets and getting one-way ones. But because I don't know our plans for the end of the week - may still spend a few days with big sister, may just want to come home - it seemed best to get a return and pay the extra. Don't want to miss a train and have to pay twice!

So I've started June with a big 'gulp' feeling which I trust will keep me on track with not spending!

    morning all :)

i have decided to aim for 18 sfd :) my budgets are-

    food- £100
petrol- not really sure. i generally aim for about £30 personal petrol and the rest i claim back from work so if i do more it still doesn't cost me. however i will aim for £50 personal as need to go to airport next week which is 170 miles round trip.
    misc spends- £160

aiming to save £770 this month (bit more than usual as my lodger is moving in a week before she is paid so she is paying me for the first 10 days then the full month when she is paid so will get two payments this month). i cant pay it at the beginning of the month as except for £170 left over from my wage it is rent money (will go in near the end of month) and mystery shopping money which goes in dribbs and drabs.)

no actual transfers take place as all the money is paid into a 3% current account so it just stays in there (its separate from salary and bills account). have started putting money for credit card in there to get interest as well :) just requires discipline so i don't dip into it but tbh i think i have got my budgets pretty spot on so its rare i run out.

today will be my first sfd as i am staying in the house to finish painting the kitchen. also going to deep clean the living room and dining room. sure some sunbathing will feature as well :rotfl:

Right, I've had a think and here's my budget for the month and my commitments to this challenge. I don't get paid until the end of June from my new job, but thankfully I have savings to cover the small shortfall.

12 SFDs. I haven't been counting days where I only spend on food, but this is going to have to change as it's a lean month this month! Today won't be a SFD as I have to get food for the coming week.

Exercise x 25 days. I normally walk around a mile and a half before work, so I'm getting my 20 minutes in most days, but not all. I use a pedometer so will be counting an exercise day as one where I walk for over four miles.

    Budgets:

£150 for food. I don't feel comfortable reducing this as I think it's about what we can manage for two people and one cat. This includes all cleaning products and toiletries too while still eating healthily.

£40 for petrol. I can't afford more than that until I get paid so will be using my bus pass where possible and walking a lot too. We don't have any big trips planned anyway.

£100 general spending. Last month was £175 and I went over it, but this month I have to try and be controlled!

I think that's about it from me, so I'm off to investigate what's in my cupboards and write a controlled shopping list :D

Morning All and Happy June to you :)

I am all motivated for the start of the month. Long may it last.

Budgets and targets are as follows:-

    Grocery £150
    Pets £20
    Fuel £100
    Camping weekend and social £100
    Toiletries £10
    Food bank £3
    Exercise 20 mins per week x 3
    Loose 7lb
Make £10 per day (£300 for the month)
    Gifts £10
    SFD 19

I have £400 budget for the month (which I will get as £100 per week) plus £20 and a bit of change in my purse. This allows a small contingency for general spends. I have envelopes ready and will put cash in as I get it and as needed.

Any money made from the up your income challenge will be totted up at the end of the month and paid off the credit card.

I need to check my bank accounts and work out what I can pay off the credit card now. Will try to do this later on today. Must leave some contingency for vets though as my kitty has a repeat appointment later this month.

Right thats it for now, good luck!

    Morning all,

I am so grateful for the sunshine today :) Almost wish I didn't have plans to leave the house but they are fun ones.

I'm aiming for 16 SFDs, managed 15 last month and June is only 30 days so this is realistic but not easy.

Food budget is £250, for 2 adults, 4 dogs and a cat. I have already spent a fair chunk of this as we bulk buy animal food around payday and my money totals always run payday to payday (whic was 23rd May, so I'm already a week into my budgets).

Petrol is £100, I can usually survive on £15-£20 a week but we're going out today in the car (an hour each way) and need a little extra to get me to the gym and back.

Misc is £160. I have spent a lot of this already due to days out in half term but also bought a pedometer and a second pair of exercise trousers. The budget also includes two Father's Day presents and cards.

Exercise sessions is 12. I will only count going to the gym or running in these as I walk the dogs most days for at least 40 minutes. I am also aiming to get to over 11000 steps on my pedometer everyday.

I'm aiming to get to 9st 7lbs by the end of the month. My eating has been erratic over the past few months but lost a stone in Jan and Feb and want to lose another by the end of August.

Hope you all have a lovely day
