clippy_girl - I have the AGCJ cook book and really like it, it's my kind of food. The last time I looked at the website the last few posts did contain some of the recipes from the book but I like to actually have the book.

I needed to get some picnic items for our day out today (its raining by the way this morning:() and went to meet DH from work so we went together. Spent £28.67 on food and toiletries but also bought some T shirts and jarmas for DS who will keep growing, some beer for DH, a watering can and some cheapo small food containers which, when I have opened them, are not going to be suitable for carrying fruit salad which is what I wanted them for. They will leak.

I made 2 cakes yesterday, Hairy Bikers carrot cake and a coffee traybake, a quiche Lorraine and 7 jam tarts with the left over pastry. Oh and a chicken, leek and bacon potato topped pie for tea.

I was a bit naughty though and didn't go to Zumba, half 7 on a Friday night is never going to be a good time for me.:o

We are out for the day today so it is unlikely it will be a SFD and we will walk around the event but I wont count that as exercise;)

  • Yesterday was a a low spend day, with another grocery top up. Actually, it was dinner - pizza, I was desperate for a takeaway, so substituted with shop-bought pizza, and it was better! Cheaper and quicker. So I'm aiming for 3 SFDs in a row now, starting today.

Another NSD and not planning to go anywhere. Doing the exercises I can and attempting the others - most difficult one I can get my leg into a usable position (ideal would be if I could get it flatter) and held for a count of 23 (should be 30) and can only do 1 (3). But no painkillers so far.

Surprised at how much effort little tasks are taking. Have put clean sheets on the bed (spread across not tucked in) and set off a load of washing. Would like to get the bread and fruit loaf I bought packaged into 2 slice portions and frozen. Have opened the window to let fresh air circulate and am not going outside.

Courgettes seem to have been eaten, not sure whether I should try something else or let the buttercups rampage - they have an enzyme which deters slugs and snails. Project house sell dictates shrubs (put some in potato sacks of soil before Christmas when I ran out of easy places to dig/ time before Christmas). However that's a problem for another day. Will rest and exercise. Have taken a jam tart out of the freezer and have an episode of a crime drama to watch (may re-watch Hunger Games as well).

Have fun everyone - and for kat and others who are working, just imagine all those debt squares being crossed off/ savings squares added.

Think today is going to be SFD number 10 :). I went to the gym (did exercise class = one official exercise session) and didn't take my purse to ensure I didn't spend. The rest of the day I have been cleaning and tidying.

Just waiting for the grey clouds to blow over so I can walk the dogs and ensure I get up to at least 11000 steps today.

Trying to figure out if I have anything left to eB4y. Don't think I do but I'll have another rummage whilst it's dull outside.

Brrrr a bit chilly here but then that has much to do with the fact I have to ice my knee regularly and I'm not dashing around! I'm bored! I hate lying around but I have to :( I have been doing a tiny bit of upper body exercise each day as well as my knee strengtheners but I'm not counting a workout, I think I have a good excuse for not working out though! Lol!

I'm excelling myself with SFDs though, number 8 today! That's one good thing that has come out of my knee op!

Today I am grateful for dd's wonderful dance teacher, for a great chat on the telephone with my mum, for my sewing machine, for birdsong, for plasters.

Thank you so much everyone for the congrats!! It feels like the finishing line is in sight... but I'm not there yet!

Spend day today on convenience food I didn't really need but felt so tired I just couldn't be bothered. Rubbish excuse I know - and I need to get out these bad habits before I become debt free!!!

Have a great weekend folks... I am catching up on posts slowly but surely x

  • Yesterday was a SFD. Not sure if today will be; we have no bacon for DH's special dinner.

    Hello June Bugs,

Thanks again for all the kind comments, you are all lovely! I'm feeling much more positive today.

So...just to let you know the sort of influence Kat and everyone here is having on me - desperate not to spend anything else this weekend, I have cut my own hair. Armed only with a pair of scissors and a youtube video. And it's not the worst cut I've ever had. Slightly misunderstood the instructions, though, and didn't realise I would end up with layers - so thought - ooh this is not very different and cut off a bit more, which was possibly a mistake.:o Still, layers are just long enough to put it up for work, so it's all OK. I asked OH whathe thought, and he got his usual hair-related look of panic and said 'What is it supposed to look like?' so I'm guessing it's not worse than normal! So that's £25 saved.

Abundant :j Yay for nearly being done with the DMP!
CEW - it is really inspiring and shows what a difference planning and being in control with money can make that you can have all those unexpected costs and still be on track.:T
Mothernerd - something has eaten our courgettes as well - clearly they were just too tasty :rotfl:

I am off work next week, visiting a couple of different friends - we will set off later. I have a budget and am determined to keep to it! Checking in is a bit difficult as my phone is rubbish and I can't post, but see you all next weekend, have a great week.
