Good day today. SFD, went for a swim, tackled a big pile of ironing and won:D

Today I am grateful for brown fabric and red fleece, for sunshine and breezes, for a lovely friend, for fuchsias, for my zapper that makes great soups.
It was my food shopping day, a day I always enjoy! Spent less than expected, which was a bonus. I got in over 10k steps, have done a sweaty exercise session and have eaten 10 veggies. Smug face is on.

Forced myself to exercise tonight...again... I feel that I haven't even recovered since Sunday's session!!
Not doing very well with my no spend days and will go over budget BUT I am very proud of myself for not buying any sweets or other junk this month. It's just that my food costs quite a bit.
Good luck to everyone!0 -
Evening,
I'm being a bit quiet at the moment because
A.) life is pretty dull when you have your leg propped up most of the day.
B.) as I'm incapacitated I am doing some editing and up keep of a website I write for. As the editor is on holiday so that's taking up some time.
C.) I'm feeling pretty sluggish so have been sleeping a lot, but I have got lots of snugly DS cuddles as I've not been dashing around so that's been nice.
However as I have been doing nothing I have made it to 10 SFDs! Hurrah! Despite the surgery I am managing some gentle exercise! Hurrah!
I'm so grateful for my DH taking care of me and the children and doing EVERYTHING While I recover. Still being impatient I want to get better!Squirrelling away in September No 33It's not about the money, it's about financial freedom, being in control of it and living in the natural world and not a material world0 -
Hi All,
Back to work today after another 4 day weekend. I've only had 2 full 5 day weeks since mid April. I could get used to this :rotfl:
Wedding went really well. Bride looked lovely and the weather stayed fine. But even better than that is the fact that even after paying for drinks at the reception, taxi back to hotel (country pub), overnight stay, breakfast and a round of drinks for everyone in Starbucks on the way home my social / entertainment budget is well under budget. Currently at £90.46/£150 and have no more planned events for this month. :T :j :T
Not so good is my SFD total. I'm currently sitting at 5/15. LTW is on track at 9/18, I lowered my total as I took yesterday off work to collect all of the animals from my Mum. She really seemed to enjoy having them all and said they were no bother, from anyone else I would think they may just being polite but with my Mum I know if they had been a pain in the proverbial she would have told me :rotfl:
I can't believe how empty the house felt without them all. Everything seemed to echo. I must have called at least twice a day just to check that they were OK.
Need to dig out a couple of receipts so that I can update my food and petrol budgets.
Personal spends is currently £43.25/£50 so just a little under budget. I was hoping to be able to put some of this into savings at the end of each month but maybe not in June. I have used this fund for some essentials for OH including underwear and cough medicines and sweets. The rest has mainly been the odd bar of chocolate or lottery ticket and about £10 of £2 coins into piggy.
Exercise is going well at 7/15. I am also doing lots of little exercises at my desk but not counting that as a session.
Sorry for the long post but really needed to catch up with being off for a few days.

Just checking in for yesterday. Spend day as was out of the house for 14 hours and needed to feed myself. Wasn't a very MSE day but never really go on trips.
Didn't manage 11000 steps, got to over 7000 though, even with 8 hours or so on the road. It was rest day for the abs workoutand did the squat workout before bed
Today's plan is as many steps as possible and hopefully a gym class in between a few other things this evening. Will stick to less than 1300 calories too as this works best for my weight loss and I need to start losing again.
Hope you all have a lovely dayLBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

So I have managed to update my spreadsheet as best I can with a few more bits bought at Lidls on Monday that I need to add. I have £103.20 on my CC which I was attempting to avoid this month.
- This is from the weekend plus a few bits in boots and M&S on the way there = £63.72 (only £40 was budgeted for ).
- Present for my friend and her new baby = £17.90.
- Tesco shop for me for £11.98 although cannot remember why I put this on the card.
- And the rest for petrol when we thought my friends baby was on it's way = £9.60.
This weekend also meant spending a further £20 from my current account which would have been the cat worming tablets and flea treatment which will have to wait until next month now.
Did I mention I am super tired today.“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".0 -
Photography taster session was good - don't think I will ever be passionate about photography (just one of many skills I need to acquire/hone) but I am feeling less traumatised than I did. Managed to take 2 photos (a flower and a bicycle hub) and with a bit of persuasion the library computers finally gave in and let us have the bits we needed on the screen and we edited them.
The woman I was sharing a camera with (who at least knew how to turn it on and what to press next) didn't get her photos on the camera at all. Have put in my details for the full 10 week course but it depends on changes in my health or financial circumstances - would either have to be fit to walk to the course (approx 4 miles each way) or 2 bus journeys (2 different operators so probably £5 anybus ticket would be cheapest option).
Not so good news - I have spent £24 something. Not divided it up yet, some sensible/prudent, some owed and some frivolous (or as frivolous as I get).
I asked DS3 if he had £1 so I could get the bus back. He gave it me but reminded me that I had not brought him any white choc chip cookies (have done so therefore debt is now discharged - he gave me £10 last week). I prepared sandwich fillings yesterday and took 2 slices of bread from the freezer but was running out of time so decided to buy a sandwich for lunch (alternative was another £1 bus fare and more weight to carry). DS3's illness earlier in the week has breached the new 4pack toilet roll I bought (didn't expect to start it until the end of the week - bought 'just in case').
DS2 didn't have any toilet paper either (took one of his rolls the week before last) so I bought the 16 roll pack, left 4 for DS2 and brought the rest home. Not the cheapest (did calculations last week) but until I can walk to tessimo again, that would be an extra £2 bus fare and the 16 pack had its own carry handle so no extra packaging. Bought 1/2 fat cheese, apples and ys'd favourite yoghurts (only allowed myself 6 budget ones last week). The rest was non-essential, emotional spending.
Just having a tough week. Didn't mind so much that I hurt on Friday and couldn't move much at weekend (expected after Thursday's efforts) but as the week has gone on, with only minimal improvement I am finding things difficult. Chocolate isn't the answer but at the moment I don't have any answers (can't even remember what week this is 13/14). I did try to stick to chocolate covered wafer biscuits rather than a block of chocolate.
Need to try to get to the doctor's tomorrow for hydrocortisone cream/ ointment. I avoid this usually but have itchy red pinpricks all over the back of both hands and E45 isn't helping and am down to the last smidge in the last tube of hydrocortisone. The soil has been making my hands very dry so have been using extra E45 and other creams but this is either weeds or possibly stress (you don't say?). I have contact dematitis (react to lots of cleaning products, paints etc). The eczema is a stress reaction and makes the dermatitis uncontrollable.
So just need to relax and not worry. Think calm thoughts.

See how things can add up when you are not paying attention.
I know exactly what you mean. Just put in a few bits of spending from the weekend and suddenly I'm £100 over budget!!!!
I can see now why I'm in debt. I currently feel like I spend very little and I go £100 over my budget, imagine what I was like when there was no budget.
I have already forecast next month. I need to buy one fancy dress outfit (budgeted £20 but hoping for less - its a very prescriptive fancy dress) and one leaving do (budgeted £40 - as it includes a preset meal and not been told the prices yet) I am aiming to not drink (or not drink much) because I have lots to do at the moment and can't afford a hangover, or the alcohol, or the taxi home. Also hoping that I may be able to share a lift with any similar minded colleagues so I'm not the only one turning down alcohol. So that means that in theory I only need £60 next month, but this is highly unrealistic, so I'm going to aim for £120 and see how I fare.
Just remembered I also need to contribute to the leaving gift (£5) and buy a present for a friend (£10). That extra £60 is going to be spent far too easily.
I have however sold another item on eB4y for a few pounds and waiting on payment for another item. Need to do another trawl of the cupboards and drawers and see what else can go.
Better go do some exercise!LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)
