Well done! I haven't been to a hairdresser for a few years now, don't think anyone noticed. But going to have a professional haircut next month.

Another NSD. Did quite a lot of exercise earlier - only the first set I learned. Am much quicker and no wobbling. They are still having an effect - changed position/ exercise every 5 minutes and was definitely reaching my limit on some at the end of 5 minutes.

Eating very healthily but a bit extravagantly. Took out a bag of frozen prawns last night (originally bought for Good Friday but were not used so went in the reserved box for the next special occasion - if DS3's gf had wanted some when she was here they would have come out but they were so loved up they didn't bother much about food). Was intending to stir fry half (Ys'd bag of beansprouts and veg) and coleslaw the rest (carrots, onions and either spring greens/ chinese leaf (both ys) or the tiny cabbage from the garden which had been hidden by surrounding weeds. But I got hungry and had two small slices of seeded wholemeal bread with a smear of tartare sauce (only a cm of mayo left in the jar but 2/3 of this [bought ys before Easter] so using this where practical, mayo rationed) piled up prawns, fresh ground black pepper and watercress (ys, not cheap but I love it). Anyway it was so lovely, I've had it twice (so maybe mixed bean stir fry and plain coleslaw - with mostly plain yoghurt for the dressing and tartare for taste).

Leg is aching, trying not to go outside as will be tempted to do too much. Feeling a little bit down but am choosing to blame this on the weather (brooding, waiting for the storm to break) and telling myself it will soon pass - not depressed about the deteriorating state of the house. Mum was in full-on house search mode but am choosing to let it all wash over me and treat it as her little hobby (few further moments of concern from her partner this week). Not going to buy anything (or commit myself) before this is sold.

    Will do more exercise later.

Hey all... it's been a few months since I posted, as there was one family disaster after another from March, culminating in my dad dying. But, we have been debt busting as best we can amidst the chaos and tragedy and are ready to get back on track properly (with NSK's challenges and all!) as soon as we can! I will wait till July to join a challenge officially as I know it's middle of the month now, but will be cheering on the sidelines for the rest of this month and catching up on posts seeing how everyone is doing - I've missed you guys...! xx

oo, and updating my signature just now, I was pleased and surprised to see how much we have paid off since things went down the toilet...

But, have had to update our DFD from a tempting close Nov 14, to a very far away June 15, due to the situation we now find ourselves in, and the fact DH has to buy a car very soon due to a job change. It does feel like one step forward, ten back!

anyway, primed and ready to go - roll on July so I can be in the gang properly!

Hello everyone! I'm back. Been MIA because been away to wales for 8 days......it was absolute bliss.......beautiful weather, extremely quiet and peaceful and stunning scenery everywhere! Stayed in a cottage with a hot tub so wax lush. Nothing at all but walking to do in the area. It was like heaven. Best of all I had no phone signal so work couldn't contact me (this is the norm for every holiday I have, they phone me every day) and very poor wifi signal, hence no updates on here.

I think I should have stayed longer. It was just perfect! Defo want to return in the future. We had some brilliant days out visiting national trust sights, main money spent on food and beer for the week as well as a little sight seeing. I did a lot of cooking for the family while I was away, we tended to have themed nights which all 5 of us enjoy more. I love cooking but it's hard when you live on your own because I tend to batch cook so it's cheaper and easier. We had Italian, Mexican, Texan and pizza nights with all food made from scratch. We had a lot of fresh veg n fruit too everyday too.

Here's a quick update on the budgets, I've achieved yoga target every day, and done as much walking as possible. I found a tenner in an old jacket I took with me while I was away and my holiday spends and the chattery were already budgeted for.

    SFD 4/15
Savings £20/£75 plan to put money in pot through selling a few things)
Excercise days: 13/30(30 mins each day)
    Food budget:£51.30/£60
    Miscellaneous budget £21.30/£40
    Yoga 15/30
    Weight loss 0/7lb
    No binge days 5/20

Holiday spends £51.90 plus £60 for cattery.

Anyway detox starts tomorrow, lots of fruit and veg for the next few days so I'm having slow cooked pigs cheek, wine and mushroom casserole with dumplings from the freezer for tea as my final tasty meal before my body cleanse starts. Smells yum, super cheap to make and extremely tasty!

Anyway off to heat the tea up and catch up on the last 8 days of this board!

    Lovely being back tho :)

Welcome back Tiptoes :) So sorry to hear your sad news :(

Your holiday sounds perfect kenyakate, may I ask where exactly you stayed? Always like a good recommendation.

Today was a very Spendy day :( Hoped to just contribute Father's Day gift with siblings but ended up buying a Father's Day takeaway as a treat. I don't begrudge it though and my dad does tonnes for me and has saved me a fortune in various ways.

Did a Zumba class, which was full of characters. I'm definitely going again as couldn't stop laughing the whole way through.

Late again, but yesterday I was grateful for dd's scooter fall only bruising her knee, for a satisfying day tidying, for dd enjoying re-finding old toys and loving them, for my camera, for a quick chat with my big sis.

Momday again, now over halfway through the month, and I guess it's countdown time to paydays! 13 sleeps til mine!

    Morning all :o

I've been missing in action for a few days while I tried to figure out my plan and my budgets for the month.

Counting food spends in my spend days just doesn't work for me because it makes me think "Oh well, I had to buy milk so I may as well buy XXX as well" so I'm going to count days where the only thing I spend on is food as SfD from here on in.

I've only had three SFDs so far and have a target of 12, which I think might be ambitious but I am going to give it a go :D

All my other targets are going well - I will post my totals once I find the right post to copy and paste from :rotfl:

Welcome back Tiptoes - hope things start looking up for you from now on.

Kenyakate - glad you feel refreshed after your holiday.

Today will be a SFD and I am hopeful I will make my target of 20 for the month but it will be touch and go, DH keeps buying sneaky little things i.e. £12 on BBQ coal this weekend, I had plenty to say about that, how many BBQ's does he think we are going to have?

Exercise is all going along nicely as is weight loss, I will be under budget for food shopping again this month, my last shop from this pay period is Friday. It's just as well I am under as I need to use the difference to pay for my check up at the dentist next week as I forgot to budget for it.
