    Morning all :D

I need to sit down tomorrow and work out where I am with all my challenges. I'm quite confused :o I might withdraw from June and start again next month.

Hope everyone is well and magicat I hope that you get everything resolved. I was so angry on your behalf. I'm also having work done in my house starting next week and will be keeping my beady eye on the tradesmen...

Hello all from sunny Spain :hello:

Holiday is v nice, lovely hot weather so lots of sunbathing :p doing well with staying on budget so racking up Sfd's (but does feel a bit like cheating :o)

Exercise not going so well so need to focus on that when I'm back :o

rent money has gone in from new lodger today so that's good :) is nice to see my savings finally start to grow as had a few things to pay out since I've been debt free!

Very sorry to hear about the builder situation magic cat :( whilst it's not pleasant, hopefully the intervention from the police will help to sort it. The more honest workers probably have an inkling on who it is. Fingers crossed for you x

    Hello June Bugs,

It may be Friday 13th, but things are looking up and I have had some good news.

Our main contractor called yesterday evening to say he had got all his staff who had worked in our house in, and looked through their bags/belongings etc - and found my necklace in the pocket of one person. :j The contractor has contacted the police, I don't know if anything will be able to be done as we are waiting to hear, but the person has been sacked, so will not be working in our home again, and I have got back the one thing that had more than monetary value, I can't describe how happy I am to get it back. All the locks are changed, 195 spent but worth it for the peace of mind. I also feel safe going away next week knowing the house will be secure.:)

On the downside, June is now a bit ****ed moneywise. not only did I spend on the locks yesterday, but while waiting for the locksmith, feeling stressed and down nothing to do but be on the laptop...I spent 70 on blinds. They aren't made to measure or anything, so can go back - will have a think. Also, was eating a lot of carp, telling myself 'You're having a really bad time, you deserve something nice...' - I was hoping to be feeling trim and confident in my summery clothes next week but suspect not so much now. So cross with myself. It is the most frustrating thing, to see the really unhelpful patterns of what you do but seeming to be unable to do anything different in the moment.

Thank you all again for your kind words and support, I really appreciate having this place to say what I'm thinking, it really helps.

mothernerd - hope your DS is ok, look after yourself.

Moomin - hope all goes well with your work - I think what has happened to us is (thankfully!) very rare, so hope you're not too worried.

Clippygirl - glad you're enjoying Spain - I'm not too jealous as there is some sun here for once!

Enjoy the sunshine clippy_girl. The sun is trying to come out here at the moment, it is still warm though.

Did a grocery shop yesterday and got some nice meat, lots of fruit and vegetables and some nuts and seeds for snacks and for my porridge. Was very pleased with how much we got for what we spent. I have run out of Tesco £5 vouchers now so next week will be back to doing an online shop with Sainsburys.

Today will probably be a SFD but I won't declare it till later when I am sure. Plan for today is washing, ironing, cleaning, walking the dog to Mum and Dad's for lunch then home to make pizza dough for tea. No strenuous exercise today for me, Friday is my one rest day of the week.

MagicCat - hopefully that will be the end of it. Don't beat yourself up and I'm sure a few comfort foods won't affect the way you look in your holiday clothes (as long as you don't carry on).

    Morning all

4.25 mile walk yesterday in the sunshine and Zumba booked for tonight (if I can find a sports bra:o). I found a random pair of gym trousers but need to check the loft for the rest.

Small grocery spend yesterday and I need picnic things for tomorrow so will be another smallish spend either this evening or tomorrow morning. Only £37.60 left in the food budget so things are tight but I am trying to avoid any more waste after having to chuck out half a pack of cooking bacon last night that had gone grey. Yuck!

Still no decision on job front but at least they rang to tell me this. Should hear either way early next week.

My JSA has been received and is a bit more than expected so I am only £2 away from my '£309 holiday pot' target. If I am still not working at the end of the month I will receive a further 2 weeks I haven't included in my budget so I am thinking of going for another £309 by the end of the month which would cover the whole holiday cost even though it is already paid for. The first £309 didn't include any of the items I want to sell so this would give me a focus for the rest of the month and should be achievable.

    Targets (including today) stand at:

    Food £265/£227.40
    SFD 12/3
    Exercise 16/5
    Hols savings £309/£307
    Lose 7lb/1lb
3 things off the to visit or do list/0
Cut down sugar Given up on this one
    No takeaways 30/12
    No weekday wine 20/5

We have tickets for a festival/meet up thingy tomorrow so just need a picnic but I expect ice creams and maybe an item or 2 maybe bought from the entertainment/misc budget.;)

DH has asked for coffee cake. He said carrot at first so I may make both as will need something for lunches next week and they both keep OK. Well, they do if they don't get scoffed within a couple of days. Plus I have everything in for both.

I might get a SFD on Sunday. Not doing great with these but at least I have 3 more than last month.

  • I managed a SFD yesterday and am hoping for another today. Exercised this morning, and have SIL visiting with card making supplies so we can make father's day cards. It's too hot for me, I'm looking forward to autumn. Summer is my least favourite season.

Today is my last day/night of annual leave back to work tomorrow, boo hoo. No exercise today so far. I had my shower at about 3:45pm maybe should have exercised beforehand.

Phoenix_dragon I am so inflexible at the moment I need a pre-yoga session, maybe that's why I am so reluctant to exercise.

dolly84 shock absorber bras, are these different to normal sports bras? I wear a sports bra and when in the privacy of my own home I still hold mine... I am worried a bounce today will be a droop tomorrow.

MagicCat Sorry to hear about your builders that is awful. I am so glad you got the necklace back, but it is still annoying about the other things and the audacity of it. Surely they should be reimbursing you for the cost of changing the locks. Regarding the obesity yes you are right obese people can still be malnourished but at least they are still eating and not going to bed or school hungry.

Mooomin Watch your builders like hawks, take precautions, and there is always that new website 'My mate' the tripsdvisor for workmen, a poor review on there wouldn't help them.

I am now up to 7 SFD. I have £6.45 of my food budget left, although I have to take something back to Asd* tomorrow, will I get a full refund, partial refund or nothing, we'll see.

I now have £17.89 of my spends left. I had worked out how to delete songs from my Am*zon cloud, so having lots of space meant I had to fill it so spent £5.98 on some 80's music, then £5 on a taxi home after shopping on Wednesday. I also spent £9 on some cool oil, which has all the omegas in it and is good for hair, skin and nails as I am trying to grow my hair. I still have to pay for a prescription and give £5 to someone at work how asked me to sponsor them. So much for not trying to spend it all, plus I still need a bag.

I also, found out I owe more than I thought. I underestimated my interest on my bcard by £1.69, guess I'll change my signature :(

abundant1972 Congrats on nearly finishing your dmp.
