Siannelaz, take special care of yourself for the next few days. I understand about the black cloud descending. You know it will pass, so be kind to yourself until it does. Personally, I find that making an effort to eat well and avoid sugar and processed foods helps me. Do what you need to do to get through it. And well done on cutting up the cc!

SiannieLaz - oh dear, is it hormonal? I take Evening Primrose for 10 days before the hormonal event and it keeps me on a fairly even keel. If I take it everyday however it makes me miserable.

Today will be a SFD. I am in waiting for Sky to come and fix my tv problems, engineer was supposed to call this morning but I haven't heard anything yet and they can come between 8 and 5. I have to go out for the school run again, I need to walk the dog and I want to go for a run.

I was really annoyed with myself yesterday. I had a large chicken to cook and for a while now I have been doing them in the slow cooker. Yesterday I just never even thought about it and put it in the oven, then when it came to stripping the meat off it was harder to get off and more wasteful, you get every last bit when it's been slow cooked:mad:.

Hugs and cuddles Siannnielaz - look after yourself.

Declaring a SFD today and not much else. Obviously I did cross the line yesterday as am having trouble even finding a comfortable position to lie in. Have tried a to do a couple of stretches in an attempt to ease some of the tension but no success.

So will relax and keep trying later. Since I only managed to lift my leg a few inches from the floor using both hands (my ankle is supposed to go on the other knee, then start easing it flat and then move my head down towards the supported knee) I should be able to do better during the day.

I can walk, I have food (pasta is lovely, although weather distracted me - thunder and lightning, raining stair-rods and bullet hailstones - so I had to scrape the burnt bits off the top), books to read and paperwork to do so won't get bored.

So I'll keep plodding, the rest of you keep hopping, MagicCat, Mrs GSR (and other poorlies) and SiannieLaz are allowed to hide under the duvet if it helps. Sorry Kat, I'm not leading a revolution - maybe a lie in, if anyone else is old enough to remember the sixties.

Thank you everyone for your support and advice, you are very kind. Not quite hiding under the duvet mothernerd, but it's very tempting.

OH called main contractor last night - the man was quite aggressive and angry (which you might be if you felt you were being accused of something you hadn't done I suppose) and basically accused OH of making it up. I think we are in a very difficult position regarding reporting, as there is no proof it is any one of several people who were all around the hose, so not a lot that can be done. TBH I just want them finished and out of my house now (hopefully Friday, but maybe not as there is a door frame being replaced that apparently may take longer...) and then will think more about what to do. I checked the boxes - was worried about easily sellable stuff like OH's playstation games and CDs, but all seems OK and I have taped everything up securely. We are away next week for a few days, so even if they haven't finished I'm asking for keys back, changing alarm codes etc - may change lock as as well, could do without the cost but the peace of mind may be worth it.

Not doing very well with NSDs, another small spend today in superdrug. Went to the gym though so that's something.

SiannieLaz - hugs, take care of yourself. It will pass, but I know it never feels like that when you're in the middle of the cloud.

Hello! Back home after my little visit to hospital for my op. All went very well and I am laid up on the sofa.
Yesterday was SFD funnily enough and I'm not sure about today as I may need to give DH some money to get a few bits from the shop.
Monday I went out for dinner and came well under budget for that so I'm really pleased.
Off to update my signature and catch up.

Here we are, into the second 3rd of June already. Another NSD claimed.

Dd is currently playing in a bucket of water - she is 6 so can only get parts of her in at a time. But it is the compromise bucket as I'm not getting the paddling pool out just yet! She has also talked the 6 year old next door into throwing water over her so plenty of screams going on!

Dh wants us to go out to a BBQ tonight. I just don't fancy it, especially as I'm the one who'll be dealing with the super tired child in the morning. But that's me being a party pooper really, so I'll try to put on a semi-happy face!

Went for a swim today as Zumba was full. I have booked the Friday evening class instead and will do another swim tomorrow too. I have lots of exercise clothes as well as loads of stuff for running and cycling but cant think where I have put it all. It's a while since I have used it shall we say. Will have a rummage tomorrow.

I did more lengths today and felt like I swam faster. Maybe that is why I feel shattered tonight.

I have done a bit of housework today and changed and washed the bedding. I also made some choc chip cookies using up one of DS Easter eggs and a cheese scone bread.

Not sure what I am eating tonight as DH is still away so never bother with much when it's just me. DS is fed at nursery.

I still haven't heard back from the 2nd interview I had on Monday, the longer it is the less confident I feel :-(

    Food £265/£219.19

    Cut down sugar 0
    No takeaways 30/10
    No weekday wine/7

The £309 fund has increased due to a DD not coming out this month and last month due to me being in credit. I had budgeted for this so I have moved this money to the holiday pot. I should receive my first weeks JSA at the end of the week and hadn't counted this in my budget so will move this over too. This will leave me £22 to find to hit my budget. It was to go towards the holiday we had put on the CC which has now been cleared so I am not sure if to pay it to the other card or to the ISA.

    Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%

Hope you are feeling better SiannieLaz

Glad you have a plan MagicCat

Glad you are home and well MrsGSR

Today is SFD number 8 :)

Feeling rather proud as OH wanted BBQ type food again but I insisted the budget could not stretch to it, so he bought what he wanted out of him own pocket :) He also bought me ice cream, which is great for me but not my weight ;)

Hoping to have another SFD tomorrow as have nowhere I need to go and nothing to buy, although my petrol may run out :o Will double check this months rules, but think petrol counts as a spend :(

Hope you've all had a good day

  • Hi all. I'm still on 5 SFDs, as I keep doing little grocery top ups. Exercise is going well, I did a full yoga session today instead of Ripped in 30. I'm sooo inflexible!
