    Morning Bugs...

My my my am I tired this morning. Worked out a full 69 working days until I leave work on the 12th September and I will never do this amount of work again. Over on my travel blog I discuss the reasons as to why I am considering resigning altogether - have a read if you have nothing better to do - but if I did it means it's only 42 workings days until I hand in my notice.

However today's activities include not falling asleep on my desk, returning said food to Waitrose, and visiting my friend baby and attempting to smuggle him out the front door.

Spends so far - £62.60 on a weekly travel-card for the train/tube, weekly bus pass that I promise not to lose this time £13 - and since baby's s*x was a secret I am going to have to get a card today and might stretch to a bunch of roses from Tescos... I can't go there empty handed!

Any of you new mums suggest something else I can bring - I am tempted by something edible but chocolate is not always a good idea no...?

    Open to suggestions!

Shan't bore you no more. I need to make some porridge....

    Onwards and Upwards...Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

P.S - Another OT session booked for the 21st - full 8 hours, awaiting confirmation on another 4 and another 8 the following weekend.

Kat - Congratulations to your friend.

Abundant - could the instructor at your gym do a programme for you with some new challenges to get you back in the right frame of mind?

CEW - hope you are OK after your fall.

I spent a small amount of money yesterday. Our town was having a 1940's weekend, we didn't go Saturday due to the rain so popped in for a quick look yesterday afternoon and spent £3.70. People come from all over for this event and it was totally packed.

Today will be a SFD. DS has gone on a school trip, he was very badly behaved this morning so I hope he has snapped out of it and enjoys himself. 8 year old boys are a challenge, apparently I am an idiot and he wishes he had a nice mum.

I'm not working today so the plan is cleaning starting with the bathroom (yay), dog walking then ironing and the gym in the afternoon. After tea I will cycle.

kat - get food!!!!!! I always take a hamper of nibbles round so mum can munch whilst feeding. baby is totally unaware of the mayhem he/she has caused, and mum/dad need stuff that's quick to eat.

May I suggest some of your precious ROCKY ROAD??!! Tho I guess you've not got the ingredients for it yet, so you may get to keep it all for yourself - which was it's true purpose anyway.

And have you thought of strapping the bus pass to your forehead so that you don't lose it? Gaffer tape would be very effective...

CEW - hope you're ok! We stopped yesterday as we saw an old man fall over on the pavement. So did another car, and his neighbours came out and called for the ambulance. He wasn't badly hurt, but pretty shaken. He's near the same age as my dad, so I would hope people would do the same for my dad.

Just to mention, I have somehow got to 5 NSD in a row, and today should make it 6. :T:T:T. (Won't make 7, as Tues is my allocated shopping day and we are out of lots of stuff.)

    Hello June Bugs,

Sorry to disappear over the weekend - at a wedding on Saturday and then out internet was down yesterday - not sure what's going on there.

Spends for me, 20 at the wedding as invited to the church then evening do - was giving someone a lift, and she wanted to go with a group of friends to eat in between so I had to go along to - chose cheapest menu options, then everyone agreed to split the bill! It was one of those social situations where it's really hard to say no, but I felt a bit annoyed at subsidising other people's pudding and wine when I'd been careful. I did a grocery shop yesterday, have updated totals, and unfortunately today will not be a SFD as I got woken up but the smoke alarm beeping in the early hours, so had to get a new battery for it.

Thanks fmess and dolly for good wishes about the work finishing - I can't wait, possibly Friday!:j

Well done for all who are paying of loans and getting their NSDs in! Dolly, your father's day spending was impressive!:money:

SiannieLaz - that supermarket sounds fab - hope it stays! it's all chains round here but I do like Ald* and L*dl as you do get some different products. Independent sounds much better though.

Mothernerd - hope pain has been OK today.

CEW - sorry to hear about fall, hope you're OK.

Thanks MajicCat - aching a bit here and there but everything is moving. Allowed an hour to walk to the physiotherapist which was just as well as it was 20 minutes earlier than I expected (I have an appointment card stuck in the correct page on the diary and last times appointment was the one I had read, not the diary entry.

Physio had a student with him (showing my age as he looked like Harry Potter - in the earlier films) so they took it in turns pulling my muscles in opposing directions. More new exercises, another appointment in two weeks and not to over-do things until muscles are strong enough - so didn't bother asking about going back to exercise class yet. Did tell him he was sorting out a lot of issues that have been there for a while, which I had just put down to getting old (my mother keeps telling me).

So walked into town - rain went from drizzle to bucketing. Returned 2 books, renewed 2 and 4 new ones. As it was chucking it down I went through a pile of veggie/ vegan cookbooks looking for interesting bean recipes, wrote one down, another only had something similar to the butterbean casserole I already do so may vary beans/ herbs on that one, discarded the gourmet one and picked the student one to bring home - curried butterbean salad 'yum' - only one with a good selection of bean recipes. Also found a diabetic recipe book with a recipe for oatcakes.

I also signed up for a one-hour taster session on digital photography for Adult learners Week (next week). Quite a few of the sessions are on on Wednesday, so will be able to look see if there are any interesting ones but the photography had to be booked. I know I am pathetic about things like this (I blame the old computer). For the last 2 years I had it, I could barely get my e-mails off it - I would switch it on, it said 'computer tired' and switch off again.

So when I got my laptop, there are all these new bits and I don't know what half of them do. DS3 gets cross if I ask - I have now trained him to draw me a little pictures of what comes up, then an arrow to what the next options are (then I don't annoy him by asking again and going through it a couple of times on my own - without someone hovering over me - I can soon pick it up). Mind it took me years to get all three of them to understand when I asked how to do something, they should not seize the keyboard, do 6 things very fast and then hand the keyboard back.

NSD. Taken the bin to the front. May try to fill another basket or two of weeds but it isn't the end of the world if I don't. Having a quiet day.

NSK I agree with the others, food. In the maternity hospital with DS1, I ate all my own dinner, anything anyone else left and sat eating my way through a packet of chocolate digestives in the middle of the night as I tried to keep up with his feeding requirements (mind you I was only 11st before I gave birth - wish I was 11st now).
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.

Well done on all the OT NSK, will pop over and read the resigning stuff in a min

    Hope you are ok CEW

Today is SFD number 6 (I think, will check signature). Someone bid on my slow cooker on eB4y last night so I'm really pleased. I pnly used it once but can't use it anymore for fear of the animals eating the dinner before I get home.

I've done 11104 steps do far today so I've met my target and still have to go out later so it will increase further.

Hope you are all enjoying an evening of sunshine, it's beautîful here :)
