NSK: The June Overhaul!!!

Even though it's not over, I am counting today as a no spend and no binge day
feeling good again and have spent three hours weeding so am well and truly knackered. Was going to drop it off at the tip but I pass there on the way to and from work so will save the petrol and drop the garden waste off on my way home from work tomorrow. OH bought me a can of diet coke as I was craving one
I'm feeling organised this week and I'm confident that I haven't forgotten anything, at least anything due to be happening before Wednesday. Wednesday is my planned spend day so will have a good think about anything I need for the rest of the week to make sure I get it Wednesday.
You guys are inspirational

Did well reducing the paper mountain - unfortunately found the budget stuff I wrote out in January which confirmed, despite the economies I have made, on paper there isn't any money for food
Fortunately this made me get back out there to do battle with the garden - sooner house is saleable, sooner it is sold, can pay off debts and have a little left over (won't be the 5 bedroom but mum can look at as many houses as she likes - leaves me in peace to get on with things).
So 6 1/2 hours (3 small rests to do stork exercise, drink water and read a few pages of my book). I have:-
Moved the green bin - it was 3/4 full and just about moveable, put it back nearer house (slabs not gravel) and have added a large basket of easy weeding and 3 waste bins of (very hard) dock roots and similar.
Have moved a 14' piece of guttering, another smaller piece, shed bits (can't be re-attached until DS1 comes back to finish roofing it), the boards for the wooden raised bed (painted but never put together) and the plastic raised bed boards (partially dismantled yesterday). Also moved a red filbert tree in an old dolly tub.
Emptied (1/6 full) a plastic bin (rescued 2 plastic and 1 metal - discarded by people when wheelie bins came in) and relocated at bottom of yard. Filled (slowly and painfully) with soil from the raised bed. Used dolly truck to move 4 large planters, to facilitate this.
Emptied and cleaned 7 decorative pots (filled with cyclamen and spring bulbs last autumn - all now relocated in side borders). All weeds and rubbish (bin bag filled) deposited in correct bins.
Finally had hot bath and washed hair - hurt all over, forgotten I had most of these muscles. Just please let me able to get to the physio without having to pay for bus/ taxi.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
No I don't mind. I don't go crazy on Father's Day gifts so it is just a card and a bit of something to go with it - here is what I got:
3 x Father's Day 59p each Card Factory
1 x Birthday Card 59p Card Factory
1 x Large box of Maltesers £3 (For FIL)
1 x Box of Shortbread assortment £2.50 (my Dad)
1 x 4 pack of Guinness Draught £5 (DH)
1 x Large box of Liqourice Allsorts £3 (DH)
1 x World Cup 2014 Guide - Hardback Book £3.99 (9 year old boy birthday present).
I was chuffed because the birthday card and present weren't part of the £20 budget and the old me would not have been so sensible and would have spent much more.
That's amazing, I'm so impressed. Thank you for sharing.
Congratulations on your friends' baby NSK
Today has been SFD number 5I have also walked for about 2 hours so I'm classing this as one exercise session.
I am really glad I have this challenge to keep me focussed on getting my debt down. I have listed a couple of items on eB4y, they will only sell for a few pounds, if they sell, but its better than them sitting in the house.
I have taken on some extra work this month which is going to keep me very busy in the evenings and weekends. I am struggling to figure out how to split the money I get from this work. I would like to make a small savings pot, pay off some debt and could do with getting the electrics reconnected in my garage (we currently run a waterproof extension cable from the house to the garage!). Part of the problem is that I have no idea how much the electrical work will cost, but the main problem is that I just want to use it all to pay off some more debt, but then that leaves me with non-permanent electrics in the garage and no savings. Any suggestions or advice?LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Today I am grateful for the sunshine that dried 2 loads of washing, for dh taking dd out to play, for the tennis on the telly, for caffeine, for cushionss.
CONGRATULATIONS to your friend kat!
Wow! To mothernerd for the epic gardening work, and for still being able to get to the physio.
Fmess, why not split it 3 ways? At least get a quote for the elctrics so that you know the figure for that.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

The electrics could kill you. Get a free quote and get the electrics sorted first. Savings can wait, debt can wait.... get the electrics sorted first!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".0 -
Thanks apple muncher and NSK. DH cut off the electrics when we had our new garage and he assures me they are safe. The main reason I haven't had a quote is that we know who is going to do the work, a family friend, and he will do it as cheap as possible, so the cost will be the same whether I ask him how much it'll be or not. I'll resolve to get his details next week when fanily are back off holiday.LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Hi All,
Well I ended up with 2 spend days this weekend but should have a run if SFD's now as we have everything we need for the week, I hope.
The good news is I did manage 2 exercise sessions. Saturday walking around town for about an hour and today walking along the river for an hour or so. OH says I shouldn't count yesterday as an exercise session as I had a lay down in the middle of it - I actually fell to the ground with no warning as we were crossing a road  I didn't trip and I cannot remember feeling my legs give way. All I know is that I was walking and then suddenly I was heading for the ground head first. Luckily I managed to twist around so that I landed on my side. I know have a lovely cut and bruise on my elbow and a matching bruise on my leg. I think the worst thing was feeling embarrassed as it was opposite a pub with lots of people sitting outside in the sunshine :rotfl:
I don't like blaming everything on my MS but I have to say I am a bit concerned. I have made a note of what happened with the date so that if it happens again I can ask for a referral to check if the MS is progressing.
Anyway no need to feel sorry for myself as there are many people worse off than me in many ways.
Budgets are doing well and hopefully all should be under budget by the end of the month.
