Visited aged parents today on dad's 86th birthday and there's a waitr0se nearby so went in there. Don't have one near us and wouldn't shop there anyway....way too expensive. But I had £20 of John Lewis vouchers from surveys I'd done in the past, so I went on a meat spree. I "bought" a chicken, pack of chorizo sausages, a pack of 12 chipolates, 1 pack bacon, 4 pepper burgers, 1 bottle red wine and butter. so a NSD really :j

Whilst in town I've picked up:
2 tins of Tuna £1.18
6 kiwis reduced £0.49
a small pineapple reduced £0.50
a big bag of satsumas reduced £1.00
big tub of Total greek yogurt £1.72
A total of £4.89
leaving £16.36 for the rest of the week and not much needed as bf is away, remaining shopping list looks like (price estimates in square brackets):
malted wheats (own brand shreddies) [£1.50]
ryvita [£1]
sausages [£2]
cucumber [£0.50]
pickled onions [£1]
baked beans x 4[£1]
seafood sticks [£1]
fresh peppers [£2]
onions [£1]
sweetcorn [£0.50]
mild curry powder [??]
so £13 or so
Might get some baby wipes in the Aldi baby event (we like theirs as they are quite wet so good for sticky messes) as that's on from Thursday (only £2.50ish for 4 packs, but happy to stock up whilst the baby event is on) and also the Co-Op has Comfort fabric conditioner on half price at £1.79 or so and whilst we have plenty to be working with I might get a couple of bottles and put them by so that I have enough to be working through until the next offer - they didn't have any of the one we usually get today but the offer is on until 15th July though so may get that from next week's budget.************************************

Meg72, that's a good buy. I didn't know that the 99p stores did fresh meat. I will have to check our local stores.
Its really well worth a look I like their back bacon 300gram pack.
You have to sort the packets but I usually find some very lean and their cooked meats are good too, I buy the smoked ham 200g pack.Slimming World at target0 -

Hi!
I live in South Africa. I lived in the UK for 2 years and still find the UK forums to be the nicest and most helpful!
Online shopping was delivered today. A total of R1400 or about 80 pounds. It will do us most of the month though with just top ups of fresh veg from the greengrocer and a whole chicken from the butcher, the supermarket ones are no where near as nice!0 -

Hi I would like to join this challenge please. I would like to keep to a budget of £125 per week for six of us. This is less than we normally spend but our spending has got so far out of control it really needs to be reigned back in. Our week will run Tuesday to Monday and as there are five Tuesdays in this month that's a total of £625 for the month please. This total will include our Friday night chip shop treat and all other food stuffs. I haven't included household cleaning and toiletries in this amount, maybe that is something for me to look at in the coming months. It's also my birthday this month and we will be going out for a meal but I haven't included that in the budget either.2016 Grocery Challenge January: £296.20/£300 February: £262.05/£3000

I'd like to have a go at this challenge My life is all higgledy piggledy, with living between my house and my partner's. I have an adult son who lives at home, so some nights it's one for tea, on others its 2 or 3 of us!! I really don't have a clue how much to set my budget at but will have a go at £300. I'm guilty of popping to the shops after work for bits n' pieces and do try not to, but I'm not always at home to pull something out to defrost for the next evening meal. #needtoorganiselifebetter#0
