First spends of the month of £76.65. Off to add to sig!
  • Hi Finetta, nice to see another kiwi on here.

Spending today batch cooking, we are expecting what the weather gurus gleefully call a "polar blast", so the kitchen will be the best place to be. Plan on doing batches of pea and ham soup, and pumpkin soup, need to stock up on cakes and biscuits for the tribe I am looking after next week, and dinner is marinated steak, so that should keep me busy all day!

Cat and dog are well prepared for the weather, both snuggled up on the rug in front of the log burner, Dh has filled the log basket before going off for the day and the fire has already warmed the house. I just love days like this, where I can "hunker down" while its so miserable outside.
    Have a great day everyone
    Cheers
    Jennie

Evening all, had a NSD on Sunday and today. I'm addicted to YS's though. My freezer is full of stuff with yellow stickers on, which is good but I'm pretty sure I don't need any more! Anyway, spent £8.27 in Aldee yesterday on fresh stuff which will hopefully last for a bit.

    Hope everyone is well

Thanks to lynnejk I've updated my signature!! After a 3 year absence I'm still trying to get back into into it. If it's ok with everyone I would still like to "lurk" for this month and join in August.

We're planning to use what we have in the freezers and cupboards as much as possible this month and start with a new budget for going forward.

Thanks to the warm welcome back - starting to feel like I've never been away. :)

Woop! Today's total spend was only £12.20. I'm loosely aiming for £15 per day for us all, so that's pretty good start to the month!

    Evening everyone,

On Saturday I checked my cupboards, fridge and freezer (writing a list) I then used this to Menu plan for the month.
On Sunday my Bf took me to mr T, I took advantage of their Ramadan event, stocking up on flour, cornmeal, dried beans and spices.

As I went over budget last month, I decided to split the monthly budget into weeks, starting on Sunday's. Hopefully this will help me control the budget easier. However I forgot to account for my veg box this week!!! lol :)

Managed 1st NSD for month and want at least 15.

Had HM shepherd's pie (freezer) with carrot batons and frozen peas for lunch today and a kind of Greek salad for tea, with herbs from balcony and a HM dressing. Very yummy :T

Hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday

Hello everyone! kiwiblue, seeing there was at least one more NZer here gave me the push to sign up. :hello:

I've now also bought more soy drink, pasta, pearl barley, split peas, and toothpaste.

I'm going to stop spending for the rest of the month while I've still got enough to buy a sack of Whiskas Senior cat biscuits if it comes on special. I have only $2.80 left for food and $8.30 left for non-food items, but the food cupboard is full and I have everything required for my eating plan, so I won't be going hungry...

I hope everyone who is now asleep is enjoying their slumbers and having pleasant dreams of a comfortable retirement due to their skilful money management! :rotfl:
