    Lets keep this simple,

    Uninstall MacAfee and download avast (the free version) you don't need paid versions of anti virus software anymore - the free versions are fine they make their money from upselling.

    Download malwarebytes (like the last post said) and run a full system scan.

    There is probably nothing more you need to do and malwarebyte will solve the pop up problem (unless you are downloading anything from a site that uses pay per click).

    Just a word to the wise. If this is a paid for version of McAfee installed by the supplier of your PC, e.g. Dell, then you need to be aware that 'Automatically Renew' will be set to ON using your credit card details in your McAfee account.

    So, if you intend to ditch McAfee, make sure you visit your account on their website and turn Automatic Renewal to Off. ;)

    what have you installed recently, when did this start

    uninstall any browswer addons

    scan with malwarebytes

    what do you mean by mcafee is blocking everything, examples?

    I've only used this laptop three times from brand new

    It's updating database at the moment

    I presumably installed something to give me a start button and icloud to transfer my pics
