    EDIT: you should get this working by using a cable connection (USB) first.

    Thank you I'm doing it now installing one of 6 I ve been getting seriously p***ed off with it. Why isn t anything ever simple for me lol

    I ve entered the IP address and it's showing as connected yet the laptop is unable to find the printer :mad:

    You shouldn't need to enter the IP address (what do you know about IP addresses? lol). Make sure its connected via USB cable and have you download the driver already?

    Oh I know plenty about IP addresses lol . I'm just going round in circles here. How do I locate this mc afee firewall to switch it off pls Then it might work

    Yes I've done everything you ve said apart from using a cable as it's supposed to be wireless

    As I said I only wanted this laptop for the printer and the way I feel now is I'd like to send it back.

    Why do you keep quoting yourself?

    Advice - SET IT UP FIRST USING A USB CABLE! I've been through this route before - using a USB cable connection the first time IS THE RIGHT THING TO DO. I think the HP install advice even says this.
