• I also got caught on this scam, I got charged £89.71 on my credit card. I have reported them to the police, as a fraud scam. There was NO box to tick, as Agerenew said). I telephoned my credit card company who knew of them from other people. My credit card company is hoping to get the money back for me,(under disputed purchase) but says they can't be sure they will be able to do it. They very interestingly said that they are just trading on the right side of the law!!! That they also do teeth whitening, and weight loss, any cosmetic products. The only thing we can do is to alert others to the scam via Facebook or Twitter, which I have done. As I said, I would NEVER EVER had paid £89.71 for a beauty product, (as I am a pensioner)......
• Hello, I phoned ageRenewSkin after I found their terms & conditions on another web site, they took £88.95 before they sent a second sample, my bank blocked them, I sent that sample back recorded delivery, unopened within the same hour it arrived, they checked and signed for it, but I never refunded me, I phoned them, and they said that the product was opened, I have emailed them several times, but they still insisted that it was opened, and would not refund me, they have no respect for customers, and only interested in scamming people. They had no record of my cancel phone call, so I'm not going to give in, I am playing email ping-pong with them until they finally understand what respect to a customer means.
• An up-date, so far, they are still not going to refund me, they seem to have no records of me phoning them to cancel, a few days after they sent the first free sample, they still will not understand that I sent the second product after I cancelled it on the phone, and still insisted that their returnd depot claimed the product was opened, even after I sent proof that they checked and signed the recorded delivery.
This is a copy of a recent email I sent them, but this was ignored by their standard reply.

"As stated in several previous emails, the product was never opened, I asked you to investigate your returns depot, who, according to my list of other UK customers, have also been told that their products have been opened when they were not, this is seen as a huge scam, your company do not have any respect for those unhappy customers, I have never known a company to be so low, some of these customers are elderly, and have very little to live on, you continue to rip them off, by telling them that their products were opened when clearly, they were not, if your company had a heart, it would send an appology, and refund them, but you continue to sweep this matter under your feet, hoping it will go away, well, I have news for you, we are not going to let your company get away with your scam, it has been reported to the Trading standards, the BBC, the Banks, and many social networks, a full refund of £88.95 is all that was asked for, but you continue to repeat the same standard reply, and claim that the products were opened."

I still cannotunderstand how this company has got away with this, so all I can do, is keep on at them until they see sense.

I sometimes wonder why some people expect abusive emails to achieve the desired result.

i have the same situation with scam from agerenewskin. i made a report to the bank that it is a fraud. now they are investigating this issue. it will take 45-90 days to make a decision. did you receive your money back from the bank? i don't know what to do. Agerenewskin offered me a discount 35% money back. but if i accept this i will accept that fact that i setlled up an account and i won't receive full refund from the bank. if i refuse to accept 35% from Agerenewskin i have a chance to win this dispute or recieve nothing. so it is very important for me to know your experience. Thank you!
• I wanted to add my experience here in case it can help anyone. Thanks for those who have posted up already. Based upon your experiences I just contacted the bank immediately instead of waiting to try and handle the situation directly with the organisation. We received the sample product 2 days ago and my wife must have had her suspicions so googled to see if it was a scam and found this forum and other sites confirming the fact that we should watch out for the company trying to take unauthorised payments of large sums of money in future.

I bank with Barclays and they were really helpful. Fortunately, we caught it early enough that we have not had larger sums leave our account yet. Barclays will refund to us, within 24 hours, any money that this company take from our account since we have alerted them. Barclays will be writing to the company that we purchased the sample from informing them that any future attempts to take money from us will be reclaimed and the company will be fined for taking those unauthorised payments.

Barclays seemed very aware of this specific scam and were very sympathetic to my plight.

Thanks for posting that, but are you sure Barclays can issue fines?
• I was scammed by age renew, paid for posting didn't realise that after 14 days they would take 179.00 out of my husbands bank, phoned and spoke to them would only give me back 30% back said I had not been in touch if I had been in touch they would not of taken the money out, so why if I phoned them before the 14 days would they not charge me, but would not give me back my money as I had used the product would I not of used it before the 14 days so what is the difference this is a disgusting scam taken people for a ride

Perhaps they were suggesting that you should've contacted them within 14 days to cancel your subscription, as that was the time limit that was specified when you placed your order.
• Interesting that this scam continues after so many months and so many complaints including the Daily Mail article in February highlighted it and apparently banks are complaining on behalf of tens of thousands of customers.
My friend got ripped off for the first charge (its now up to £92/month since February) after ordering free sample but they accepted her cancellation for further charges, although she also closed her credit card account to be sure as it seems they can supply details to other companies too.
I phoned the company and after 12 minutes waiting got to US helpline and Carly who offered 30% refund if we returned the goods, which we rejected.
I phoned Citizens Advice Bureau (03454 040506) and they said that Trading Standards would only act according to the number of complaints received, so probably good to keep flooding that advice line with complaints about this company. (Their address for those who did not read to the top of thread is
UK Headquarters:
New Health Brands Ltd.
ATTN: AgeRenew Skin Care
Unit 8 / Watch Oak Business Centre
Battle, East Sussex
TN33 0BG)
They also suggested template letter in terms ofConsumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 could be valid if terms and conditions were not sent in a durable form (they were not on the emails, nor on the websites, except via a link they send when you complain and they claim you clicked at checkout). Will send that off and see how we get on.

Thanks to all posters on this thread for good advice above.
