I must be spending less these days, only got 33p sitting in TCB in total.
Is there anything I need to buy that offers cashback?0 -

How long before you home/car insurance is due, this is where I find my TCB account gets a good hammering :T
Or friends & family purchases as a 'recommend a friend' earning for them to save too - you've probably got all this covered but this is what springs to mind when I think of my TCB account :money:I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Budgeting & Bank Accounts, Credit Cards, Credit File & Ratings and Energy boards. You are doiing great Ed. Don't put yourself down. Everyone's situation is different. The difference here is that you will make proper use of every penny you have available and you will get there. So much more satisfying than it being handed to you on a plate - however nice and kind that may be.

My parents gave my ex and I a fair chunk of money when I got married the first time and it seemed to give them a feeling that they could tell us what to do with it. I always felt a sense of obligation. I have also given money to my children and then felt disgruntled when I felt that they 'wasted' it. Even though I didn't say anything about it. Which means that it is probably best to be independent and make your own way, having the satisfaction of knowing that you did it all yourself.
You are doing great and will continue to do so.Paid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D0 -

Felt much chirpier yesterday, it is incredible the difference a bit of sunshine can make, eh?
Today has been a bonus day off after I ended up working the equivalent of 6.5 days two weeks ago :T
Very productive:- Trip to the tip, getting rid of pram packaging, spare bits of carpet, old rubble and aquarium gravel, broken electrics and a broken thermometer
- Got petrol, inflated the tyres, washed and hoovered the car
- Tested the smoke alarm
- Tidied out several shelves and drawers of 'antiques', recycling everything I could
- Ordered a new mobile phone, satnav and battery charger (think we need this after 3 flats in 2 years!)
- Updated our budget spreadsheet to ensure we can refresh mobiles every few years (due to MB I need something vaguely up to date)
- Washed the dishes
- Made SC lamb hot pot for dinner
- Set up a few MB, £15 or so, I have something like £50 of free bets to use up this week as well
- £3 to Freedom Fund, £2 to Emergency Fund
Still to do:- [STRIKE]List old computer game on eBay[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Tidy away some books[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Make sourdough bread[/STRIKE]
- Shave!
