    Good Morning Tributes....

Loaded with work today... boo hiss. Getting that finance thing done from home later. Cinema and chill out with a friend tomorrow... Will check back in later and say hello.

Well done Apple Muncher for your new star.. How are they counted then cause I want another one! ..lol!

I reckon it must be an automatic thing. I'd noticed that some people had 3 stars - or more - and started noting how many posts they'd done. (oh dear, sounds like I really have too much time on my hands :o) At first I though it was 700, but that came and went, then I saw someone with 775 ish and they had a 3rd one, so I knew it wasn't far off.

But I think they get more spaced out, the higher up the echelons of mse-ness you get.

I was impressed to get one with a little crown too! Easily pleased! :rotfl:

It's definitely automatic and the amount of posts required is a closely guarded secret.

    groceries £191/£200
kitties £20.70/£50 + £23 on flea treatments + £6 for magnetic keys (getting their own budget this month!)
    entertainment £50/£100 (extravagant I know)
    sfds 8/15
    savings £29/£500

Last night's shop came to £41, rather extravagant really for what I'd ordered but I got a free bottle of champers which I'll put away for someone's birthday or anniversary present as I don't like the stuff. It was really just a "treat shop" - lots of goodies and meal deals for the bank holiday weekend as I'm working so won't be going out.

I reckon 1 star comes early on - at 20?

    2 stars at 100 posts.

    3 at 750

And you'll have to wait for the rest til I get there!

MagicCat - sorry to hear about the interview although you do seem to have the right attitude about it.

MrsGSR - Legoland is nice, no chavvy loud mouths with cans of Fosters which is always a bonus in my book.

Did well yesterday evening - another 2 hours in the garden, mainly planting onions although by the time I finished it was so dark I was having to hold them about 2 inches from my face to make sure they were the right way up. Then washed my hands brought in the dried washing and put out another load.

Latish night watching The Wire, thought I heard the phone ring about 3am but thought if someone had died, there wasn't much I could do at that time (especially as my limbs were not co-operating).

Early phone call this morning (no one died) just mum's latest scheme to 'help' DS2. This one involved me getting to the old house to receive a donated microwave and a parcel of 'pensioner' ready meals she had bought. Thought I might as well take library books back and do shopping whilst I was in the town centre. No time to eat (just get dressed and go) so bought a drink and a sandwich (wasn't sure which way a yoghurt and porridge oats + library books in the rucksack would go) and some bits.

After the delivery I went to Tessimo's, was overwhelmed by bargainacious veg and decided to go up to the £40 needed to use the coupon I had. Not the best shop I have ever done. Suspect I was trying to tick too many boxes - aftermath of toiletrollgate/ planned basics shop for June/ welcome surprise visit from DS3's gf and still feeling cross with myself. Had to have a taxi home - very heavy rucksack + 3 bags. Have added taxi money but need to work out food spending/ split between May and June. Had a list so think I have what was needed (including ant powder as have found several nests and them keep emerging in the front room) but it was all so rushed. Still have to go out to vote and go back to DS2's to collect the things I left there.

DS3's gf has had a job in a fast food chain since October on a no hours contract. Other staff are getting varied shifts, she has been rota'd on every weekend and she has a manager who makes personal insults all the time. She and DS3 have only seen each other 3 times since October (been going out for 5 years) including a weekend she had booked as holiday hours but had to go back to set up at 5am on the Sunday. She's barely better off than on JSA and cannot quit because of sanctions.

He asked me if I could suggest anything (she wrote a letter last week asking if she could have 1 weekend in 4 off - result 1 four hour shift this week, on Saturday) and I said ask the doctor to sign her off sick - she was already on anti-depressants but this week the thought of work is making her physically sick, so he's meeting her on Saturday and she's staying for a few days.

mothernerd - 1. "toiletrollgate" made me chuckle! :rotfl: and 2. your poor DS and his gf, I hope she gets something sorted soon, 3 times in 7 months is awful. Much worse than my OH and I and I find that hard enough!

In lotti-world, I didn't have an NSD as I went to the petrol station co-op intending to buy pizza or some other junk food. As it was, I spotted some orange stickers:

Bag potatoes 75p down from £2.35
Soya & linseed bread 59p down from £1.79

    And my proudest moment...

300g branded cheddar 75p!!! instead of £4.39 :money:

£2.09 spent on the grocery budget, and garlic&paprika potato wedges in the oven for supper, going to have a good dollop of cheese on the top and congratulate myself on my excellent bargain spotting! :rotfl:

Today I am grateful for the thunderstorm (love a good storm and pelting rain), for paper clips, for lovely pupils, for tea being what I made yesterday, for lavender.
