Evening Tributes,
What a lovely weekend - sunshine, good company - although eaten too much rubbish so I'm back on my healthier eating...
Managed to get 1 SFD and 1 gym session in today.
Congratulations Fmess... That's awesome news!!! You've got to do what feels right, although what Kat says makes sense... out with the old - in with the new and all that... Exciting times though!!! I'm really pleased for you both!!!
Have a great evening everyone and I'll check in tomorrow x

Sorry I haven't checked in for a couple of days. Life seems to have suddenly gone a bit maniac
Friday was a spend day. Not a lot but a spend all the same. Needed some spuds and a live yoghurt to use as a starter for home made yoghurt. Still practising with the new machine but so far everything has been edible. It's just getting the right consistency that we need to work on.
Saturday was also a spend day as we needed layers pellets for the chickens. Still they pay us back with lots of eggs so it's actually cost effective :money:
Confession time now... My stepson came on Saturday to collect some bits for his car he had got online that OH had collected for him. I had planned to cook home made KFC for him as it's one of his favourite meals but in the end I was too tired so we ended up going to Mac D's. Spent a little under £15 but am annoyed with myself as it's the first take away we've had since Sept/Oct last year
Apart from this we had a great weekend. OH helped his son fit a new boot and bumper on his car whilst I spent a lovely hour or so cleaning the second hand bumper and removing lots of sticky brown tape. Apparently I'm an awesome Step Mum. His Mum would never do that. I didn't feel the need to tell him that I love cleaning things up like that as I get so much satisfaction from seeing the finished article :rotfl: :rotfl:
I need to update my spreadsheets tomorrow to see exactly where I stand on all budgets so will update them tomorrow.
FmessCONGRATULATIONS
See you all tomorrow.

Evening everyone, sounds like most of you have enjoyed the weekend! Hurrah for a bit of sun
Kat I love food too! I ate some junk food about a month ago - three days of pigging out - and I actually had a hangover after it! A serious headache that even painkillers wouldn't shift. Yuck yuck yuck, the junk food was banished and I have felt amazing again ever since!
My kitchen's looking a bit bare again, but I've just made a smoothie bowl with what's left...collard greens, kale, spinach, cucumber, sunflower sprouts, apple, banana, avocado and a splash of lemon juice! Although I was a little heavy handed with the lemon juice so I added some nuts and seeds to the top which sweetened it up a little.
Since I last checked in I've clocked up another 4 SFDs, bringing my total to 13. Friday involved spending £1.50 on a huge bunch of bananas, my new obsession! I've been making smoothie bowls using frozen bananas and panic when I'm running low!
Another food shop is in order tomorrow, although I managed to grab a free ticket to a nutrition talk at Planet Organic on Tuesday night so I may try and eek out what I have so that I can do my food shopping there on Tuesday instead. No point in having two spend days when I can only have one!
I'm on the nightshift again tonight too (packed a brown rice and kale salad, watermelon and oatmeal!) so I'll check back in again at some point tomorrow after I've had my sleep and been to yoga!
Have a lovely Sunday evening everyone0 -
Evening All,
Fmess - congratulations!!! Are you going to be having an MSE wedding?!? I got married for next to nothing, but we did run off and not tell anyone! Definitely keeps the costs down!!!
MagicCat - Am sure you will blow them away on Wednesday x
Not an SFD for me today, spent £2 on fruit treats for DD. A mate came over today with her DD, so the two tots spent the day tearing round the garden in the sunshine - lovely. Did think about getting the paddling pool out, but I'm on a water meter so didn't bother!!
Got up at 5am this morning and did a workout, am not going to hit my target but will carry on doing my best.
Totals so far:
SFD - 11/15
Groceries - £54.55/£80
Misc - £13.91/£40
Petrol - £15/£15
Exercise - 6/20
Daily check in - 18/31

Ooooh I love all this organic yummy foodie talk. Siouxsie I am finishing soon but had nectarines, home made guacamole, toasted wraps to make into crackers, carrot sticks, lentil loaf and gravy. LOVELY! And not too stuffed.
Does Planet Organic have a store or is it all online? I am intrigued by the lecture though. Very interesting.
Pineapple in Tescos now at £1 each. They are the large ones. My green smoothies are now spinach, pineapple, ginger, banana, parsley, wheat-grass powder and celery. YUMMY!...“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".0 -
Thank you everyone
I'm very excited!

So.. I want to ask you. Why not concentrate all your efforts to getting debt free BEFORE you get married. Marriage is exciting, a new journey with your OH but you are taking the old life with you?..
Would if not be better to concentrate all efforts to clear this debt, then save hard (although I understand some things need to be paid for in advance and sometimes way ahead of time )..
Can I be nosey and ask what you want as a wedding budget?
For us, marriage is not a new journey, nothing will change (apart from my surname and us wearing rings). We have been together quite a few years now and have got to a point where we either decide never to do it and stay as boyfriend and girlfriend forever, or to be husband and wife. I want us to be married as I feel it's important to how others view our relationship, it's an obvious show of commitment that both OH and I already know exists.
If I save hard, I could be DF by Jan 2016 and we would like to get married in April 2016. It's needs to be April as that is the only time I can have 2 weeks off work and it's not the rainy season (Caribbean) We are getting married abroad so the main cost is the flights/hotel, which would be the same as a honeymoon. I don't intend on buying an expensive dress, just anything I like that is cream/white, I don't care where it's from and it doesn't have to be a wedding style dress. My friend suggested a bridal bikini in steadThere will be no bridesmaids or ushers, no engagement ring, no fancy details, transport etc, just legal fees, buying the rings and a wedding breakfast/meal for anyone who comes with us. Because it's abroad, it will need to be paid for well in advance and some places give huge discounts if you book more than 12 months in advance. Scarily at the moment I have no idea of cost but wouldn't be prepared to spend more than £5000.
I would love to be DF before getting married but in reality, I don't earn enough to make that happen. From June, I just have one loan to pay off, with an end date on May 2018. I'm hoping to overpay where possible and have a DFD of January 2017.
Hope that makes some sense.LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

What a beautiful day!
It's my friends birthday today, been out for a three course Indian meal with a pint of lager, for just £16! So nice, will defiantly be going there again! Also made a birthday cake early this morning - plumped for a Victoria sponge, so nipped to shop for a couple of last minute cheapie ingredients. I have added the rest to my birthday budget. While I was there I picked up a cheap loaf, 12 fruit tea cakes (both yellow stickered) and I had to buy the limited edition silver chocolate champagne magnums......as you can tell food is a big part of my lifetotal of £4.02 used from shopping budget. Added £2 to the Christmas shopping savers card too :money:
I spent the rest of the afternoon having a long walk around the local park, watched bmx racing there and then nipped to the parents for a cold beer in the garden  just what was needed
Transferred £30 to the holiday savings fund so I've hit target for this!!
Budget update
1. Food £44.75/£50 (£2 on a Christmas savings card)
2. SFD 9/15
3. Petrol £44.36/£40
4. Birthday £10.49/£10- for friend
5. Social £43.60/£50....mainly for said friends birthday night out which was planned months ago
6 LTW 8/22
7. Part pay holiday £303.65/£300
8. Lose weight 0/4lb
Off to work in Chester tomorrow, so longer drive ahead for me. I've packed my lunch (hope I remember to take it) and I have my takeaway coffee mug ready for the morning.
See you all at checkin tomorrow evening. I'm defiantly aiming for 2 SFD's in a row.
The cats at the vets Wednesday sooooo not looking forward to that.

Also think my DFD may have to go back a bit as OH and I have decided to get married in 2016
So starting next month I'm going to split my money between paying debt and saving.
Congratulations Fmess !!!!

hiya.
sorry for the lack of posting but have been at a wedding this weekend. it was lovely, a bit too religious for me, but lovely (lots of prayers and readings as well as obscure hymns).
one thing which we are going to steal is getting people to bring a cake... after the service the guests went into a hall where there was tea and cakes being served. this distracted them whilst all the "church photos" were being taken.
it sounds like an excellent idea so i think we are going to steal it.
congratulations fmess!!!!!!!!!!!! well worth delaying your dfd for and if it makes you happy then all the more reason to go for it. love the idea of going abroad too!!
:j
will have to get back into the diaries so we can keep each other up to date. not that i am nosey or anything.
no idea where i am on spend free days as i can't check when i last posted on here (on my phone just now). will do a tally tonight.
have used my credit card whilst we were away but only for petrol (will be about £80 by the time we are home). so not too bad but i would have rather spent zero.Mortgage: £0/£80,329.91
Savings: £0/£64000
