Perhaps £80 is too tight a target for me. Last month was £160 which is quite a drop.
That joke about the cannon did make me laugh
I think that dropping from £160 to £80 in a month is a LOT. I've been working on my budget since about October and have only just reduced it to £150 - previously it was £250 for two of us and a catI was within budget last month but don't honestly think I can reduce it any further for us - the cat is expensive

Another exercise session in the bag :j.
I was able to re-jig a certain lesson, so that I do it tomorrow, and rush home to collect dd + 1 from school. Saves us both childcare costs, so I'm going to go and transfer that to the mortgage.
Got home with just enough time to squish in a 10 min ZWOW before getting the girls. It was a tight squeeze, especially given that what I wear to do my exercise most definitely is NOT fit to be seen in outside the privacy of home!
So exercise is done.
NSD may also happen... A friend is taking me out for dinner as her treat. Not sure if I'll be buying drinks.... Or maybe let her buy everything, then I'll reciprocate for her bday in a few weeks' time.
Went for a walk before work, to ponder if there is any way I could get/acquire/make the extra money to push the mortgage down. Didn't come up with anything amazing, but I did enjoy the walk! And made one decision: I have a small 'cash stash' that I keep for emergencies, but haven't used in months. So I'll put that in my purse and transfer the same across. Best not encounter an emergency for a while!...

Oh just remembered! apple muncher before I got my prescription card I ordered gf food on prescription once, it cost over £55 for one months bread, pasta and flour! Each loaf was charged as one prescription item! I got my card very swiftly after that.
Can you explain how this works? Where do you get your card from once diagnosed and how much do they give you etc...? I am fascinated by food on prescription if that what you could call it..?“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. I think this is acceptable for two people and a moggy. You are doing well on that - lots of home baking perhaps? So roughly £37.5 a week - does this include the odd bottle of wine or is that a separate budget... toiletries too?..“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. I just got myself 2 lemons, a white onion and a massive bunch of flat leaf parsely ( currently obsessed with the stuff ) - with money off receipts = 36p spent.
However I can't find that "£4 off your next order of £30 or more" = GUTTED! Gonna have a proper room search tonight! Grrr!!!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Haha!!! Thanks peeps!!!
I'm glad I'm still in the running... Another SFD claimed.
I think next month I'll maybe go for £140 p/m and see how I go. The really big expenses like protein powders can knock me back nearly £50 alone so I have to somehow budget those in. Maybe I need a separate gym budget - I already do that for my subscription - so might tweak it so I have enough for these big items.
On a plus note - I have secured some overtime this month which had not been planned for, so not all bad.
Planning on a quiet night of relaxation!!! Bliss

I think it's called a prepayment prescription card. Anyone can get one, you don't need a certain medical condition, and you pay about £10 a month for the year and then there is no charge for your prescriptions in that same year.
I think there is a points system for how much food you can get as a coeliac but I don't really know as I just order what I want and no one has ever said I'm ordering too much. I generally get 8 loaves (they come as a minimum of 8), a box of pasta, a box of flour and some pizza bases a month. Only certain 'essential' foods are available on prescription - no chocolate biscuits etcLBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Well put fmess! Dd gets free prescriptions so I'd no idea about the prepay one.
And when I was diagnosed - 6 years ago - I made the decision to eat differently, stuff that naturally didn't contain gluten, instead of substituting with those expensive ones! So I've not gone down that road.
As I said, we got double dosed on one bread order - so 24 loaves (albeit extemely small ones !) to store... :rotfl:.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

INTERESTING. Where do you order your food from - surely you can't walk into Tescimos and hand them the prescription card?“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm shouldn't your protein powder be in another budget and not the "food budget" - otherwise you could just see if you could get by on a £100 budget for food. That's £25 a week?
Find money for the protein powder elsewhere perhaps........“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent.
