Evening All,
SFD for me today, at work again! More patients starting to come in so was a bit busier today, it does drag when you're standing around doing nothing.

Groceries - £19.30/£80
Misc - £11.91/£40

Evening all,
Spend day today as needed to do the grocery shopping. Spent more than I had intended but that was mainly because several items which I regularly buy were on offer if you bought multiples so I bought the multiples and we will have them for dinner this week and next.
Went to town but bought lunch in a cafe!I did have the cheapest option though
I then found an amazing dress whilst window shopping and I bought it
Its a navy polka dot dress with a lovely red waist band and the straps can be made into either a halter neck, two thick straight straps or a cross over back. I do need a smart/casual dress to wear out for a couple of events in the summer but I didn't have the money in this month's budget to pay for it, however I knew that if I didn't buy it, I wouldn't find anything as nice when I start looking. And it is decent quality, although fairly cheap in price, so should last for a while. The other good thing is that I will pay off my credit card and the cost of the dress next month
Now for the bargainous bit. I also tried on a pair of shoes that I wanted to buy for when I am a bridesmaid later in the year and next year. I got handed a £10 off voucher in the store, but as they didn't have my size, I came home and ordered them online and combined them with another voucher I had, so they were free
Also my car wind screen got a crack today but luckily my insurers will fix it for £10 so I am very grateful for having good insurance
Hope you are all ok.LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

I am loving the determination to save pennies that people are writing about. I'm doing it too, to be able to Tilly Tidy off the mortgage.
I got superdisappointed today, but probably shouldn't have. Dh went shopping as we were nearly out of dd's bread. He had a list with 3 things on it, and vouchers for sains. He comes back with the listed items - and more! He'd spent £5 on a paltry amount of ham, when there was a 500g packet in the freezer. If he'd said he was getting ham, I'd have told him! He also got me 2 packs of g-f goodies. This is really sweet of him, but he KNOWS that I'm avoiding sugar and trying not to spend on junk. I just felt it was such a waste of nearly a tenner.
Anyhow, he cooked lunch and tea, so I am lucky! And I can only control my own spending, so I shall keep my focus on that. And keep the food shop smaller this week
Got a sweaty workout in this afternoon, which was a good feeling:j.
I am grateful for my knitting, for the rain showers, for dd's lovely dance teachers, for the myriad of daisies in the lawn, for comfy tracky trousers.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
I knew I'd cave today on the take away and drinks tonight, spent £9.10....... Was much needed though and it's my payday treat.
Now I'm home and snug, finishing off a bit of paperwork before bed. Knackered and glad this weeks over. It's been a toughie
The change from my purse moved over to my savings account pot too, so another £3.50 added to holiday fund.
Just realised I have my car mot due right before the next payday at start of June so really must stick to this challenge and fingers crossed I will have some cash left over from my wages to pay for it rather than dipping into my savings.
Update on the budgets:
1. Food £26.72/£50
2. SFD 7/15
3. Petrol £0/£40
4. Birthday £0/£10- for friend
5. Social £21.10/£50....mainly for said friends birthday night out which was planned months ago
6 LTW 7/23
7. Part pay holiday £273.58/£300
8. Lose weight 0/4lbI have enough money to last me the rest of my life unless I buy something -:j:rotfl::j

Happy weekend Tributes! NSD for me
and only really ate random leftovers.
Nice day catching up with friends and failing to get many jobs around the house done! Off to athletics with DD tomorrow which will be a spendy day, but taking lots of picnic stuff, flasks etc to keep it as cheap as we can, and combining the journey with a visit to family over that way, hopefully.
Pleased today to have sold something on Ebay thats been listed there so long I have no idea where it is now! Its weird how some things just finally find their way to the right person. Got some furniture listed now that I really just need rid of - excited to see lots of people watching it! Got a couple of things to list tomorrow as well.
I made a big home made meal for our friends who've had a baby recently and just took a very small gift for their little one along with it - a jumper picked up in the sales some time ago, but perfect symbol of our friendship on it! Hope they will enjoy having something healthy and easy for their freezer, and it was all storecupboard ingredients for us, so little cost in cooking it. Would have been even better if I'd got organised enough to cook something else in the oven at the same time!
Best I say goodnight before falling asleep again here! Good luck to all x0 -
Not an SFD, but only £15 odd quid spent! Will update properly tomorrow! Not so much hassle about not drinking tonight too!“Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goals.”

Morning all..........
Well I am at work. YEAH for OT on a Saturday night! Ugh!**Think of the money***..... **Think of the money**...So a very late to bed Friday with lots of sleeping today although I spent a few hours with my friends who are expecting a baby imminently before coming to work so I was fed twice and had a lovely day with them and their toddler.
Nothing major to declare in NSK world. Planning a good old snooze tomorrow with some baking of bread rolls to follow. Nothing like fresh bread that's hand made. Determined to get a few things pulled together to prevent buying anything ever again from that dreaded Sainsbob's that's outside work....Grrr!
Brought so much healthy noms from home today - well prepared - and all I want is crisps. Maybe some Pepsi, chocolate and more crisps. Nights shifts are AWFUL!
Anyway - I will be back tomorrow/today...:T:T:T“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".0 -
Well done Moneymash. Bus fares are so ridiculously expensive, I rarely travel by bus but am horrified every time I do especially as they charge you to go miles further than you want to.
Fmess - Well done on the shoes, you will love those shoes so much more because they were free.
applemuncher - can you freeze pre-packed ham?
mothernerd - I was looking on the Debenhams website last night and they had some lovely dare2be proper waterproof winter coats heavily reduced they are still quite expensive but should last many years.
I spent money on groceries yesterday, I had vouchers and ended up with £55 ish worth of food for £42.51 with multi buy discounts aswell. I did an inventory of all my stockpiled food yesterday and pinned it on the notice board so I can cross things off as I use them so things won't get forgotten about.
Went for a bike ride into the woods yesterday in the pouring rain (it was spitting when I set off) I had to cut it short in the end as the rain was so bad and I was covered from head to foot in splatters of mud. Raining again here so not sure what the plan for the day is.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Hi everyone, still need to catch up on this thread properly! I hope everyone is having a great weekend
Well don't laugh but i finally watched the hunger games yesterday and now understand all this tributes talk
I feel a lot better today and thank you for suggestions on stress! Kat, the one time I did get the offer of how to deal with stress, the little man was ill, so I didn't attend it. I have just taken over a much more legal role at work, which has been left i total chaos for months, before I got it:mad: Now all of a sudden, everything is urgent! I felt angry with myself for agreeing to do it. But, I am also wanting to aim higher, so thought that a bit of variety, would be better, with regards to applying for something else.
I have always suffered from stress, but as I always had a holiday to look forward to, the planning ect was my stress relief. However, for the fisrt time in years, I'm actually not stressed about money :T talk about swings and roundabouts.
I remember a book I read years ago, that mentioned that whenever you feel stressed with work, you need to remind yourself, that itis not your whole life, you will do the best you can do then go home and forget about it. I will try to adopt this, but it's not that easy to do
Anyway, today I spent 2.95 on a photo mug from B00ts. Special offer, I uploaded a piccie from my 40th birthday celebrations in Vegas. Money well spent
Anyway, hope everyone is well, enjoy the rest of your weekend and keep hacking those figures:A Your Always in my heart, you never ever will be forgotten-9/9/14:heart2:0
