Morning all
Payday today so I've done my money shuffling and added to the birthday, car and ISA accounts. I'm heading to the cinema after work but the friend I'm going with is stopping by my house on the way to feed my cat so I'm going to leave out popcorn for her to take for us to eat and hopefully keep my SFD in tact.
Yesterday was spendy from a budget point of view (90p!) but also in terms of clothes shopping. I bought four dresses, a pair of shoes and a pair of jeans  One dress was expensive (£57.50) but will hopefully do for two weddings. The other three dresses were online purchases, so I need to try everything on. If they're nicer than the expensive dress it's going back. It'll all be paid for from my Paypal account as I have about £110 sitting in there at the moment. I purposely did a clearout of stuff before shopping as my regular budget is too tight for clothes at the moment
I'm finally feeling rested today - I was in bed by 10.30 (Normally it's closer to midnight) and slept right through until 6am whereas I've woken at four am each night this weekHappy Friday everyone!

MagicCat - good luck with your interview.
Yesterday was a SFD, I was expecting to do a grocery shop but have put it off till tomorrow now, I have blooming Tesco vouchers and using them is mucking up my shopping routine, I hate going at the weekend but will suffer it for £7 off a £50 shop.
I think I will have to spend money on overpriced fizzy drinks tonight as we are out with the children for a presentation evening. Last night I delivered all my Avon orders in the rain, I made £53 this campaign and have put that money in the holiday kitty.
Horrible weather here today so I will do some ironing, some work and go and visit my parents.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

So, yesterday was a spendy day, as predicted. Took my glasses in for appraisal and they need to replace a lens. Que sera, sera. Found a Natalie Bray "Dress Fitting" book for £1.50 which is a bargain as new, it's £30+. I need to brush up on my skills
Now, need to wrap presents, shower and get myself to town...‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

Hello Tributes,
Hugs to all who are feeling stressed or down, particularly when it's work stuff. I've found this a really hard week, glad it's only been 4 days as I don't think I'd have got through 5!
Hopefully another NSD today, as don't need to get anything and will not allow myself to go and get chocolate to make me feel better! Crazy busy clinic this afternoon for work, so just planning a quiet evening in with OH, may catch up on the masterchefs I've recorded this week.
Oldest gnome - thanks for the present ideas, they are great! I may adapt one for my mum's birthday in June - I think everyone I buy for will be impressed as the presents they get are going to be far better than usual!
Thanks for the interview good wishes, it is a week on Wednesday and I am terrified, need to do a presentation and I HATE them, and also need to get time off work which is tricky.
Have a lovely Friday everyone, does anyone have exciting weekend plans? I need to meal plan and get the grocery shop done, then may try out some bathroom paint!

Good Morning and happy Friday Tributes!!
First off a congratulations to those reaching 6-7 SFD's already - Siouxsie, Lotti, Cottage_Retreatist- well done girlies. I am super impressed!
There seems to be a lot of work related issues this month which is stressing people out. Nellis you seem to be in a very stressful area. I shan't ask what or where but it's always someones kindness ( where they don't have to be ) that would make me cry - big hugs to you!
Magic-Cat you are clearly capable of the job otherwise they would not have asked you for the interview. Remember it costs them money to hold a recruitment drive so they WANT you to be successful - take a deep breath and realise you are worth it - is it today?
Travellor have you ever adopted some stress reliving activities - meditation etc..? Stress can make you very ill ( I lost a lot of hair over a long period of time due to stress - costs thousands to correct) whereas now there isn't much I care about so stress doesn't always work on me..:rotfl:
Mooomin I am loving your cinema-prep-logistics. I went home from work last night to cook my lentil loaf then went out to the cinema with an apple, a bottle of water and a wee pile of lemon and chia seed pancakes still warm that I was able to rustle up before I left. Anything to avoid cinema food fees....
So a few quotes stood out for me today....I have finally managed to pay a bit more off the debt. I am quite shocked at the effect increasing my debt has had on me mentally. Last month I put a holiday on my credit card and therefore increased my debt and it has left me very deflated. I now know that I do not want to increase my debt ever again and will forward plan and save up for everything
RESULT!! This is the innate feeling that those "pleasures" we once took for granted are not so pleasurable if they are causing us debt. As much as you want to try and clear debt and try, try and try again - until THIS horrible deep-rooted sickly feeling enters your life when you consider large purchases on credit you might end up making the same mistakes again.
THIS is where I want you all to be. It's not a nice feeling to have a set back like this but it's a necessary evil to really and truly stay debt free when the time comes and avoid reliance on those nasty card. Chin up Fmess you have taken that turn - I wish I had a tiara to give you or something like that. It's like you have graduated through the penultimate debt hurdles.I'm enjoying challenging myself, this is my first challenge on here but I've been trying hard cutting back for last few months bringing myself out of a big post Christmas debt of £800 which is now clear. .................So I will bid you all good night while I sit here with a brew and a big grin on my face over my money saving efforts so far from this last months wagehere's hoping I can complete this challenge and end up with a similar amount for my holiday next month :T
ADDICTION! You will get addicted to this money saving game. There is no more satisfaction than knowing YOU and only YOU are getting rid of this debt and making significant changes in your life AND realising your own true potential. I am super proud of someone who is so new to these challenges making a massive difference to their life already. Keep it up KenyaKate!Deleted_User wrote: »Not a NSD today...but only because I wanted to chat with the gorgeous guy in our local c0-op
Yeah ok.... I woulda done the same probably! Ever thought he might be genuinely interested in the beautiful money-saving loon that comes in for super-cheap-treats?..
So my yesterday was rather productive. I got home at 1630, made my lentil loaf by 1800 (of which a slice came to work), threw some lemon&chia seed pancakes together by 1820, left for the cinema on the motorbike and arrived by 1845 (Sabotage is rather bloody for those interested in the new Arnie Swacher-Whats-His-Face movie) with bed time at 2230 prior to a lovely shower and not a lot else ( long movie)...
There is a picture of Mr Lentil Loaf on Bookface but if it tastes nice I will post one here tonight.
On another note someone "might" be interested in my push bike through work - I have advertised it for £300 so I just need to wait until I send him more pictures for him to decide.
My dear brother is also starting to filter through the £300 he owes me for my little car donated to my from my Granny. It's in NI, my brothers was beyond repaid and it seemed obvious that he just used mine. He also paid for a lot of work on it so I am not asking him for too much. He earns very little so I appreciate him even attempting to get it to me now.
My friend is also going to get a wee text from me today requesting the £70 from the ferry crossing she is taking with me in September for a holiday with my parents - that will go on the CC.
So hopefully my new total ( in the bank ) will bounce to £3300 soon! But hey - who's counting right..? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Onwards and Upwards Tributes - planned SFD for me!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. groceries £98/£200
kitties £20.70/£50 (getting their own budget this month!)
entertainment £0/£100 (extravagant I know)
sfds 3/15
savings £29/£500
Had a Mr S delivery yest as I had a £10 off £50 shop. Came to £39 in all after I returned the carppy substitutes and £12 was on kitty food.
£25.85 from a survey site finally came through and has gone into the savings pot.0 -
Thanks Kat!!
hope you get your bike bought - well done on getting back all the money outstanding!! Although I would feel a bit awkward asking for it - but I haven't had any money to lend for so long I don't know if would feel awkward anymore!!! :rotfl::rotfl:
NSD #7 today! But i will have to break my NSD cycle tomorrow by nipping to the market to pick up some salad stuff - I am trying to make us eat salad minimum 3 days a week for health reasons, which costs a bit more, but the market does good deals
I am a little worried about reaching 15 NSDs too early actually that it might make my brain 'switch off' and slack for the rest of the month as I will have reached my target so if i do someone give me a kick up the a**!!! :rotfl::rotfl:
i am grateful for:- being able to nip on MSE during my work time! naughty!!!
hope everyone is ok? Meditation music works wonders for me if I am feeling a bit stressed out! You can find compilations on YouTube!!!

Hello, today is a SFD, I really need to get back on the selling stuff wagon again so that will be the plan for tomorrow.
