£50 deposited into my travel account from my brother.
£6.22 spent in Tescos - seriously why do I go there for a "look"... (more bananas, more lemons because I couldn't carry too many home the other day, yellow sticker sprouted beans, tofu x 2 and naughty crisps for now cause I am at work until 1900)....

evening all, didnt get the promotion  knew i wouldnt though :(

so went to aldi on the way home from work and did weekly shop at £5.50 :) only needed yoghurt, milk and fruit. have just put on a pot of butternut squash to cook for next week.

had someone call me re spareroom ad but i missed it so have sent a text. also had a guy message me, not sure why he even clicked on it when ad title said room for female!

interesting how many people have used spareroom, i have anxieties about liking/tolerating the person and also worry about my nice little house :o what kind of checks/references do those of you that rent out do?

have booked electrician for next week so need to sort out £480 for him. have got over £600 saved in my bank account although some of that is earmarked for stuff bought on cc. but thats not due until end of month so all sorted to pay him :)

i dont think i have managed one sfd yet  kept buying sweets but not done that for 2 days.

im off to london tomorrow to meet friends. will spend on cup of coffee for train down (not taking flask as dont want to carry all day) and possibly a taxi home from station as will be dark. may also need to get something for dinner unless we are still together then. we have a kitty we put money in each month so all spends when we are together are free :A

need to try and get some sfd next week although eating out thur and fri. dont often but it seems eveything is at once!

have just listed a door on gumtree so hopefully someone buys it so i can get cash and get rid of it!

Thanks NSK, I do feel like I've grown in my view of debt and the use of the credit card. I would love a tiara! No joking, it's something I've always wanted!

Magic-Cat you are clearly capable of the job otherwise they would not have asked you for the interview. Remember it costs them money to hold a recruitment drive so they WANT you to be successful - take a deep breath and realise you are worth it - is it today?

Awww thank you Kat, that is very kind of you to say! Interview is a week on Wednesday, so I have time to prepare the presentation over the weekends.

CottageRetreatist - I'm another big fan of meditation - I have been doing mindful meditation and it has really helped with my stress, you have reminded me I need to get it going again, can't expect it to work if I'm not doing it!:o

Clippy_girl - sorry to hear about the promotion.:(

Quick post tonight to say yesterday was a spendy day. Needed milk and fruit squash. Only spent a total of £1.71 due to money off vouchers and that included 3 bottles of branded squash and a 4 pint bottle of milk :money:

Today was a SFD and both yesterday and today were LTW :j

So my scores so far this month are:

    Groceries - £12.77/£150 - really pleased with this :j
    Social / Birthdays - £27.70/£150
    Fuel - £0/£100
Misc - £3/£0 - Need to budget for this next month
Impulse - £5/£0 - need to look closely at this and try to eliminate
SFD - 5/15 - need to work on this
    LTW - 4/19 - on target :T

Tomorrow will be a spend day as taking Dad and his wife out for his birthday. 75 years young tomorrow :rotfl:

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend.

Another SFD - managed to walk to mum's (suffered after lunch but stayed in front room doing my exercises until the pain receded - hardest bit was the two big steps from the table to the couch when my leg wouldn't support me and there was nothing to hold onto).

Had a taxi home but only because mum offered to pay for it (didn't feel guilty as I know they pay for a taxi for one of her partner's daughters every week).

Out tomorrow - DS1's payslip and monthly bus ticket are still coming here and he wants me to take them to him as he has lots of overtime to do. He will pay for an all day bus ticket for me, so left cs drop-off and library books until tomorrow. Will wait to see how I feel before deciding whether to have a trip somewhere, as well (have water and sandwich in freezer).

Recently joined Streetbank - think it followed on from the slim your bin challenge mentioned in the MSE newsletter. Someone is offering their 'organisational skills' for free - usually I'm fairly good at this but thinking it is always easier to sort out someone else's mess, so may take them up on it (offering to help list/ give lessons on ebaying is included).

Today I am grateful for dry weather for our y11s last day, for dh going out (!) and a peaceful evening, for cashew nuts, for my washing machine still working, for the cbeebies website, for my work allowing me to move a lesson for 2 weeks so that I can collect dd from school and not pay any childcare fees.

I opened the 1k tin of condensed milk tonight and used just 50g in the fudge! Hmmm. Can't really make another 29 batches of fudge - each one uses 175g butter and 500g icing sugar and 200g white choc. So, stewby, I think you had a truffles recipe? Not sure if you posted the details, but could I trouble you for it again, please :D.

Found out that dd's bread won't arrive til weds, so am going to use the sains voucher to stock up. Any spare will freeze. It's a spend I'd not anticipated, and it is my own fault that we ran out, so I'm sending myself a 'must plan ahead better' vibe.

The recipe is a bit basic so I apologise...

    It's normally:

    1 tin of condensed milk.
    1 packet digestive biscuits.
Lots of drinking chocolate powder, approx 6 tablespoons.
(I normally add it then keep tasting until I get the flavour strength I like).
Something to cover them with like vermicilli or coconut or more drinking chocolate.

    Method:
    * Place digestives in food bags and smash up with a rolling pin.
    * Put in a bowl and add the drinking chocolate powder.
    * Mix well.
    * Add in condensed milk and mix well again. Taste and see if the flavour is strong enough.
    * If mixture is too watery, crush more digestives and add to mixture until soft but not sticky.

Then just roll into balls and cover with whatever covering you have chosen.

If you get adventurous, you could wrap marshmallows in the mixture to make snowballs. They are amazing.
    :D

    Hope the "cooking" goes well.
    :)
