Shattered today as it has been DS birthday. Small spends on taking him swimming and a happy meal and then I had to run to sains as when I went to make his cake I realised I had no cocoa. I ordered a personalised icing topper for £3.50 off eBay and made my own cake. Much cheaper than the £12 the supermarkets wanted for a character cake!
Didn't manage a dog walk today and it has rained heavily all afternoon. I have also managed to cut my palm really badly on the metal strip on a catering size box of foil:eek: DS plasters haven't held it together and DMIL has taped me up with steri strips which I am hoping will work:(
Busy day tomorrow as I need to get everything prepped for an early start to our holiday on Saturday morning. I will HAVE to do the ironing tomorrow:eek:Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%

Evening tributes
Long busy day at work today, I have a new boss starting Next week who I've worked with before and he's a real ball breaker....... I'm preparing what I know he will want to see now, save me an !!! whipping later. Still managed to squeeze in lunch and a brew though
I've just been in the kitchen and have made the most delicious looking cheapie healthy breakfast for tomorrow, trying overnight oats (porridge oats layered with cheap natural yoghurt and frozen Forrest fruits in a big jar, left to soak together overnight in the fridge). It looks yum already!
It's also payday at midnight so have transferred what's left in my account over to my savings for holiday, have tried my hardest since last payday mid April to cut back on my un-necessary spending, it's amazing what you can achieve when you put your mind to it and actually how much money people can waste on pointless things. :money:
I'm enjoying challenging myself, this is my first challenge on here but I've been trying hard cutting back for last few months bringing myself out of a big post Christmas debt of £800 which is now clear. :T
Here's an update on my budgets :
1. Food £26.72/£50
2. SFD 6/15
3. Petrol £0/£40
4. Birthday £0/£10- for friend
5. Social £12/£50....mainly for said friends birthday night out which was planned months ago
6 LTW 5/23
7. Part pay holiday £227.99/£300
8. Lose weight 0/4lb
So I will bid you all good night while I sit here with a brew and a big grin on my face over my money saving efforts so far from this last months wagehere's hoping I can complete this challenge and end up with a similar amount for my holiday next month :T
I have enough money to last me the rest of my life unless I buy something -:j:rotfl::j

Great to hear all the spareroom success stories! No chance of me getting a cup of tea as since I'm moving a long way I don't have the means to visit beforehand so we're sticking to skype viewings and signing contracts by post. Fingers crossed it all works out!
Another SFD today as didn't even leave the house, horrible weather outside and plenty of revision to be doing for upcoming exams.New graduate trying to get debt-free.
Make £5/day challenge: August £84.08/155

Good evening tributes.
Spendy day today but it was shopping time. I am working for the next few days so we decided to go shopping today and that would be us for the rest of the week (as in next week).
However... £10 of our shopping spends were on chicken and fish. We got 1.6kg of diced chicken breast fillets and 4 breaded fish things.
Total spent was £39.69 but this included that £10 of meat/fish and we also have bought a heap of fruit and veg (I am going to make more soup).
The health kick is going well. I am still under my calorie count which is good and I am walking with my mum everyday (twice a day) so it's all going very well.
I even bought my lunch and ignored (kinda ignored, more stared at then decided against) the cakes in the restaurant.
:j
Post might have happen tomorrow, it might not. I am working and the past few times I have been working, I have fallen asleep whilst reading the posts. Thought I'd better make my excuses now, just in case.
Hugs to all the tributes.Mortgage: £0/£80,329.91

I am feeling incredibly smug, for I have captured SFD 7/15!
(Nowt to be smug about really, was only due to getting a cup of tea and a packet of three custard creams provided at the lecture I went to before setting off down south, avoiding the need to buy any tea and chocolate!)

NSD Challenge: August 2017 2/150 -
Not a NSD today...but only because I wanted to chat with the gorgeous guy in our local c0-op
They do great mark downs in the middle of the evening so I came away with some 25p plums, reduced price cereal bars and half a huge swede that was also 20p. I only ever go in there on a YS hunt so I think he probably thinks I cook really weird things and have a slightly unhinged traipse all round peering at the shelves before buying just one or two items style of shopping. Perhaps he engages me in conversation purely as a deterrent to shoplifting or other unsavory behavior in his shop. But he always makes me smile
and today I needed that, so I consciously gave up my NSD! :rotfl:
Before that things had been going quite well...finalised my gas and elec switchover today, and inspired by the chatter on here used up some lentils and cooked peppers in a bolognase type sauceI'm glad there are others eating their way through large bags of pulses too. Now, lentil and swede, what can we do with that?
