MagicCat, does your nan watch dvds?
Today I'm grateful for gorrrjus y11 pupils who happily spent 30 mins writing nice things about each other to put in their leaving books, for my exercise mat that cushions my leaps and jumps, for my dh working so hard to configure my new phone, for hugs and cuddles from dd, for our snuggly duvet.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
magic cat- if she has so many grandchildren, how about all chipping in and getting a nice family portrait of the grandchildren done? you could get one large print and put in a frame. we did this for my nana although there were only 8 of us!
not much other news. not managed a single sfd as keep buying junk food which is really not good
had a rethink about my lodger ad and think i would rather a nice person i can be friends with full time is better than someone m-f who just sits in their room. as there are so many rooms on spare room i have upgraded for a month at £20 so i am higher in the results and means everyone can contact me for free and i can contact everyone as well (if you have a free ad you have to wait for ads to be over 7 days before contacting- by which time they might be gone). so i sent a few messages. views have gone up a lot and one person has clicked to get my number but have not heard from them yet.

MagicCat I heard someone once suggest a homemade afternoon tea for a present for a nana (cucumber sandwiches, scones, cakes etc) , apparently it went down very well.
clippy good luck for your interview
Spendy day today and maybe tomorrow as the shops were out of something I need for Friday.
Did tutoring this evening so feeling a little bit happier about the finances, they are slowly moving in the right direction. Need to sit down tomorrow to update spreadsheet and then signature.

Evening everyone.
Spend-free day today and a day I am particularly proud of. Work threw everything at me today and I stuck almost to my plan. I managed to not buy anything but I also managed to only eat 3 jelly babies and nothing else... and there was heaps of biscuits and sweets left out.
So feeling pretty dam pleased right now.
Spend-free day number 4 is in the bag.

clippy have you had much success with SpareRoom in the past? I just signed up as I need to move soon but am a bit apprehensive about living with strangers - have previously lived with friends in rented flats so this is all new to me!New graduate trying to get debt-free.

Hi everyone! I managed to fall asleep doing my posting last night, so this is for then and now!
His Missus - I thought of you today, I hope that the day passed as smoothly as it could.
Best of luck clippy with lodger and with promotion!
Mothernerd - I hope your feeling a bit better. I'm taking your advice - bath, hairwash, clean sheets, hayfever tablets.
I won an item of furniture on e-bay overnight, something I've been looking out for for a long time - and its only about 15 miles awaythere was just under half the amount it cost in my paypal account from my sales, so thats taken the sting out a bit.
Went to Mr T's to use a £4 off voucher, went slightly over the amount I needed to use it, but got a lot of staples needed - washing powder etc.
Persevered with an expenses claim tonight so there is about £40 coming in my next pay packet, I hope - its almost the cut off point but I think I made it. Can't believe that I didn't used to bother claiming for these kind of things - a few pounds here and there for parking really adds up!0 -

I live in a SpareRoom place at the moment, and my last place was too - I haven't had any problems so far! My last housemate and I got on really well and I miss her loads! Sometimes I wish I didn't have to houseshare, but that is just me being a bit antisocial at times!“Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goals.”

Pretty good day yesterday - I got a SFD and loads of exercise by walking home. It's over 3.5 miles but someone from work suggested a route that wasn't busy with traffic or boring to walk along. I'm going to aim to use that route a couple of times a week now!0
