Oh good grief almighty I am BACK IN LONDON!
Hello to all. I am here and signing in for the moment. Lots to read I can see.
Apologies for the lack of check in last night. I was travelling with Daddy-Bear to Belfast, stopped off at Granny's for a bite to eat and she happened to have found hundreds of old photos... we spent a few hours going through them. Bizarre seeing your parents as teenagers.... I digress..
It took me from my drop off at 1700 until 2330 to get home. Then is was a case of wash and prep for an early start this morning. Needless to say I have a headache, am a bit sleepy and would prefer not to be at work.
News for the day ...- Library book has to go back today, 1 day over-due because I couldn't take it yesterday. Grr!
- Monetary totting up to commence very shortly.
- I'm wearing new tights.

xspender - you had a very productive day.
mothernerd - hope you are in better spirits today
NSK - you must be shattered, hope you don't have too busy a day at work.
The weather is a bit iffy here today but hopefully the clouds will blow over. Today will be a SFD.
I rang the Doctors at 8.50am to get an appointment for DD and there are no appointments today and just book on the day tomorrow, when you ring in the morning they just tell you the same thing again. I have asked for a GP to call but it isn't a high priority as I wouldn't tell the receptionist what it was about as a matter of principal.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Taking mum out for tea tonight. it was dad's inquest yesterday and whilst we already know the findings, it's kind of the end of that chapter in life IYKWIM. So thought she might need cheering up/distracting/a break from her routine.0 -
Ulster Folk & Transport Museum...have a "Child Goes Free" voucher that I will use!
The Giro D'Italia is coming here next week and I'd love to go see it but DS will be at his Dad's and isn't really interested in it, so not going to waste the petrol going to see it myself

Morning,
Designated spend day today. We are redecorating our bedroom (as cheaply as possible) so need paint and a new blind, last week I bought duvet cover sets and a carpet at a knock down price. It's been the same vile masculine colour hubby decorated it 7 years ago and I have decided enough is enough! Next job will be the shed project to facilitate the garage project!Squirrelling away in September No 33It's not about the money, it's about financial freedom, being in control of it and living in the natural world and not a material world0 -
Right - you lovely people have me inspired to get back to cooking for myself a little more than I am at the moment and I am going to start by using the green and red lentils on the house to make a loaf out of it. Should do a few days with some salad and home made relish I should think!
Really want to keep the pennies down a little bit as well so I shall be buying basics this month (as in Every Day Value) and seeing if I can use up as much as possible of what's in my cupboards...
Quite excited now considering I have a cabbage, a broccoli and a cucumber as my "produce"... should be interesting....
Who can ping up the lentil loaf recipe...?“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. This is the one I used:
http://www.food.com/recipe/cheese-and-lentil-loaf-96816
I subbed the cheese and cream for some spoons of quark, but wasn't best pleased with the results, bit too bland for me!“Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goals.”
