Afternoon everyone, I'm just awake and having a sort of breakfast after my nightshift yesterday (oops, didn't check in
). Welcome back Kat, sounds like you had a nice time in NI
Glad you asked about the lentil loaf recipe, I was kinda wondering myself after all the lentil chat. I have a vision of eating beautifully cooked lentil loaf with a thick tomato sauce and some green veg! Thanks for the link lotti, I'll have a look and see if it can be veganised.
My 'breakfast' this afternoon was a home blended Acai Bowl made with my rather expensive-but-worth-every-penny acai powder bought the other day. OMG I can't believe I've not investigated this stuff before. It was seriously delicious! If anyone's interested, I blended a frozen banana, a fresh banana, a spoonful of acai powder, a spoonful of peanut butter and a little almond milk. I topped it with blueberries and a little granola - mmmmmmmmmm!!! I want it to be tomorrow already so I can have more!!
Okay, food aside, I've had another few SFDs, taking my total to 6! It's my mum's birthday today so I called her rather than sending a card :money: and I'll see her at the weekend so I can give her a nice pachmina I already have (regifting cos it was free, but she'll love it!). So, my plan is to have another SFD tomorrow and then get some food in on Friday for my parents arrival on Saturday. By then we'll be a third of the way through the month!
Enjoy the rest of your evening everyone...I'm off to yoga then vegging out for the rest of the night0 -
Who are the presents for apple muncher? Maybe we can come up with some suggestions.
Thank fmess! I have some ideas going round my head. I nearly succumbed to amaz0n the other day, but just left it all in the basket so I have time to think about them and cogitate... And find cheaper alternatives.
So, for £60 total:
a 6 yo girl - a pencil crayon roll, a notebook for drawing + ?
another 6yo girl - ? Tricky - the dd of...
a close friend - she's getting a scooter, so maybe some tassles for the handlebars; a 'best friend' poem in a frame (hm of course); and hm mint white fudge
anothrr close friend - tricky...
my sister - prob best to ask her! Fudge.
my dad - the most sorted with a dvd and book. Fudge.
Spends so far= roll 6, notebk 1, choc+condensed milk for fudge 5. Stuff for dad I've had so long I no longer recall the prices!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

Evening all - knackered today and four coldsores as a result of the assignment stress at the weekend!
Decluttering going well - books to the charity shop and some items rehomed through freecycle, ebay listings not doing so well...
Hoping will catch up on the NSDs later in the month should have a couple more this week. Log ins are happening daily off to update signature!0 -
Evening
SFD #4 here, had a wander round town with mum and had a look in all the charity shops but we were both very good and came home with nothing. Been trying to juggle figures to see what kind of car I can stretch to buying this summer. Looks like a tin can on wheels so far, but it'll be the first car that'll properly be mine so I shan't care. Downloaded YNAB to see if that helps with number juggling - anyone get any tips on how to get the most out of it? I don't have a monthly wage so it's rather confused at my ever-decreasing balance...

Hello tributes, and welcome back Kat!
Just a quick one from me, 12 hour day and starving, so off to make risotto in a second.
Yesterday was a NSD and I'm climing one for today too as I can't possibly spend before midnight as I'm too tired to do anything but eat and sleep.
Hope all is well with everyone.
Ooh, and if anyone has a present idea for my nan, who will be 90, let me know. She says she doesn't want any more ornaments etc as her flat is stuffed dull and has diabetes so sweet stuff not an option. I was thinking maybe flowers, but she has 16 grandchildren and if we all get her flowers she'll have nowhere to move, so any alternatives would be great!

SFD and LTW for me today so everything is going in the right direction, except maybe my waistline  I took cakes and treats into work today as a belated birthday celebration. Trying to be good I also included some fruit. I ate lots of fruit which was great but I also ate a few bite size cakes and some chocolates  I really know I shouldn't eat too much sweet stuff but when it's all laid out on a table I can't seem to resist. Now I'm paying for it with indigestion
On a positive note I have again resisted the urge to buy tea and coffee at work so saving a few pennies there :j
I have checked my freezer to see what home made ready meals I have and it appears that we have enough to last us the month. Should only need milk, fruit and veg and maybe some bread if we don't get round to making our own. I have all of the ingredients so really no excuses.
See you all tomorrow.

Evening All,
Didn't manage an SFD today as had to get cat litter and milk, will aim for another one tomorrow.
Had a really quiet day at work today as we've only got 7 patients, but on the plus side, have found out today that there is a chance of 50% funding for my access course and I can take it either as part payment or as study days. As I can get a student loan which will be written off when I start my degree, I'm probably going to go for the study days, as it would mean I don't need to sort more childcare.
The government have also changed the eligibility for the free childcare places so from September, I can get 15 hours a week free for DD. The only problem being that her current childminder is not registered and doesn't want to be, as she prefers being paid in cash. DD loves her childminder sooo much, but the offer of the free time is too good to pass up so I guess I'm going to have to look for a new oneDue to my work hours, I can't just look for a nursery as I start at 7.15am.
Anyhoo, need to get going on Avon stuff tonite as Area Mgr is coming round tmrw for a chat.

Another SFD. Woke up aching all over (couldn't even start leg exercises) so took enough pills to make me rattle and had a slow, gentle day.
Some sorting (screws and nails widely dispersed by numerous jobs so all safely back in their places so we don't buy anything we've already got). Found some suitable designs to embroider a card for mum's birthday (not till August) and they will use threads from the leftovers box (or will alter colours to use up bits).
A use up veg day - two small cottage cheese salads (supper or side, not big enough for a main meal), 1/2 an aubergine was going to make a meal with cheese sauce but now added an end of celery, 2" leek, 2 wrinkly carrots, remaining mushrooms (not good enough to eat raw), 1/2 tin of peas (other 1/2 used in a meal), sweetcorn (opened tin yesterday to eke out remaining salad), 2 peppers (bad bits cut out) and a tin of haricot beans. I am hoping this lot will be enough to make a veg lasagne in the roasting tin and then make 6- 8 meals. Milk gone off so will have to be plain yoghurt and beaten egg cheese sauce.
Also dealt with the potatoes (bought for Easter ys'd to 20p) which had eyes and whiskers. Made hm wedges (not to recipe so not quite wedge-ish but absolutely delicious), eaten 1/2 others in fridge (parboiled ), 3 x 2 small jacket potatoes, bag of small ones chopped, blanched in freezer for salad at a later date (because I need to use the yoghurt for cheese sauce) and rest will be blanched cut up and frozen for boiling/ mashing (only just finished using the Christmas ys potatoes - would have done this sooner but still playing freezer tetris).
Also thinking through a couple of problems and coming up with options bits to sort and order for tackling - money snaggle coming next week which I will be okay with but need to go through budgets to see if problem will recur. Would be better if house were up for sale but can't spend energy fretting over things I can't do now.
Ideally I would like to get through till next Wednesday using only the food in the house, but may crack before then (only fresh apples and onions left and fridge is 1/2 empty. If I manage the walk to town/ errands and mum's on Friday then I have potentially a very long run of NSDs.
Had a lovely sleep, sorry all of you working long hours but I think the painkiller and hayfever tablets in combination knocked me out - oh, had a bath, washed my hair and changed the sheets, all of which made me feel wonderful (easily pleased, me).
